BFG Offers Some AGP Owners Free Upgrade to PCI Express Graphics Card

If you're still one of the few owners of an old AGP video card made by BFG Tech, here's what. As of today, BFG Tech is offering those AGP owners to trade in their current working AGP BFG graphics card for a BFG PCI Express graphics card. BFG only requires your BFG AGP card to come in good, working condition, and they'll send the PCI-E equivalent at no cost to you. If you want to upgrade to an even better performing card, add $50 and you have it. Please note, that the offer is for U.S. customers only. The chart below shows BFG AGP cards and their closest PCI Express equivalent. Find more information here.

mullered07wtf has wwII got to do with this thread, talk about flamebaiting :shadedshu.

if you wanna give out history lessons then maybe you should actually know what your talking about beforehand, yes hungary did side with germany in WWII though was reluctant in doing so, and only did on the presumption they wouldnt have to get involved in the actual war. In other words they were forced into it as many axis sides were by hitlers nazi regime. however hungary were secretly in talk with the US and great britain which were found out and they were subsequently occupied by german forces.

back on topic please as stated this has nothing to do with what happened in WWII and couldnt be any further from it.
Please don't accuse me of flamebaiting when the discussion has already veered into the area of geo-political discourse. Try reading the entire thread next time and not just the last few posts, okay?

One poster said that Hungary had never been given anything for free -- I showed how it has. Please take your fake-offense somewhere else, okay?

mdm-adphNot exactly -- you got southern Czechoslovakia for free when you sided with Hitler during WWII. :shadedshu
Which was taken away after WW2 (along with other territories populated by hungarians which we got back during ww2). Anyway after WW1, 2/3 of our country was taken away (millions of hungarians became other countries subject).
(We sided Hitler, because we had no choice, and he promised we get back our lost territories which were parts of historical Hungary.)
If you can't afford electronics where you're living, move -- you're in the EU, now, nothing's stopping you. Don't blame America for your problems -- pack your bags and move to Belgium or something. :toast:
I don't blame america, just questioned this action. Yeah, i'd like to move, but this is not so easy without money, but i hope i can do it next year (GBR maybe :) ).

look you are flamebaiting regardless of weather "some one started it first" i have read the entire thread and no one else mentioned WWII why you felt the need to is just about beyond me, dont act like americas hands are clean of blood,

you showing or stating that hungary had joined forces with hitler and subsequently obtained southern Czechoslovakia isnt really relevant to this thread is that what they got for free? oh my bad :slap:

and im not offended by it, i just thought id point out what an idiotic post you made that has no relevancy to anything on tpu let alone this thread, if you cant think of somthing relating to the topic at hand then you really shouldnt be posting crap that has nothing to do with it as it just shows you have nothing else to offer.

Aye, it sucks that the deal's only for America -- trust me, it's probably got something more to do with tax regulations that any prejudice against the rest of the world, if they could offer it elsewhere they probably would. :D

It'd be great to move, trust me -- you'll have to put up with shit from people there in GBR or anywhere else, but just work hard and people will respect you. :toast:

[yak yak yak]
The only person getting offended here is you, mate. No matter what you say, a person isn't flamebaiting if the fire is already burning. Like I said, you obviously haven't read the rest of the thread.

(And I couldn't care less what America's hands are covered with, be it gold, shit, or the blood of newborns.)

Aye, you're right -- considering they were OC and from BFG, they probably cost quite a bit back then, didn't they? No wondering BFG can afford to do this. :p

I know the/my BFG 7800GS OC Retail was a $200'ish card:slap:

I'm gonna check my registration and see what is involved to do the swap.

Seems toooooo tempting to pass on a "$50" 9800GT/OC :D

Well it's not going too good so far:

Was the account created before or after 2/14/08? If it was before this date a
new account will need to be created. Unfortunately when our systems were
updated all previous accounts were lost.
A new account would need to be created
Thank you,

only thing is if you dont have a board that supports PCI E, might aswell go all out on a new system.

Well, yeah, but a 9800gt is far from a bad card. This makes it possible to move to pci-e very cheaply.

I figure it this way,
I have the BFG 7800GS/OC just sitting as a backup for my nasty Bliss.
It's only been used a couple mo, but they appear to only be moving for around the $100 on ebay.

Since i already have a Q6700, the only thing needed to move PCI-e, is a M/B, and ram.
Ram is dirt cheap for DDR2.

A M/b, can be somewhat costly, just depends on which.

I'm really wanting a Black Pearl 3rd Gen.

On the GPU, well that starts in the $200 range for a nice card that would make a "big" improvement over my Bliss setup. As has been noted to me, atleast a 1oo% improvement to make it worth while.

The 9800GT OC that they offer would not really make a 100% improvement, BUT, yes it would be a noticable gain. The $150 "savings, would then be applied toward the M/B, and all that's left is far less that $100 for 2 gig's of good DDR2.

Only thing is the issue of haveing the awesome conroe865, supreme 2gig's of OCZ EL ram, and the killer Bliss:respect: just sitting......................... another Quad chip, and it's back in buisness.

So I think it just comes down to wheather I want to "sit" on an ageing AGP card, or "sit" on a PCI-e card for future use ;)

As for now i have no plans to move from a good setup, unless I get an awesome steal for a M/b, like when I got the EE chip, or even the Bliss[the owner had no idea it was so powerful]

Yea I was suprised about that also.
Thing is, mine is the G71, and from the unit's I seen on there they are older G70's.
Mine clocked 500/1400 stable.

So it'd be worth $50?:D :o  to sit on a PCI-e card just "waiting" to be used?

Well, if you're not gonna do anything with it, then of course not :p. But if you wanted to upgrade to PCI-E, it would be a great opportunity.
