Corsair Launches New HX450W Modular Power Supply
Corsair, a worldwide leader in high-performance computer and flash memory products, today announced the HX450W, part of the newly-established Corsair Professional Series of enthusiast-class, modular power supply units. The new Corsair Professional Series incorporates the existing HX-series of PSUs, which includes the multi award-winning Corsair Professional Series HX1000W, and the new Corsair Professional Series HX450W is engineered to the same exacting standards."The Corsair Professional Series of power supply units have been designed by Corsair and engineered to the highest standards for enthusiasts that demand the very best. They set a new standard by which all premium PSUs must be judged," said Jim Carlton, Vice President of Marketing at Corsair. "The Corsair Professional Series HX450W is ideal for enthusiasts in need of a PSU for PCs with modest power requirements, such as Home Theatre PCs and mid-range gaming PCs, but who don't want to sacrifice quality, features or performance."
The Corsair Professional Series HX450W uses industrial-grade components, ensuring stable, clean and reliable voltages, and delivers the vast majority of its total power output (88%) on the critical 12V rail, which is essential for reliably powering today's PCs with multi-core CPUs and DirectX 10 graphics processors. The Professional Series HX450W is also tested and guaranteed to operate at 100% load at an ambient temperature of 50°C, guaranteeing stability and reliability no matter the conditions.
The Corsair Professional Series HX450W features a sophisticated, energy-efficient circuitry design that ensures maximum energy savings and minimal heat generation. This highly efficient design meets 80 PLUS BRONZE certification standards ensuring a minimum efficiency of 82%. High energy-efficiency ratings coupled with a high-quality, temperature-controlled 120mm fan makes the Corsair Professional Series HX450W one of the coolest and quietest PSUs in the world.
The Corsair Professional Series HX450W also boasts an innovative cabling configuration that uses low-profile, flat modular cables that reduce air friction to help maximise airflow through the computer chassis. The modular design also simplifies installation as it allows for unprecedented flexibility in utilizing only those cables that are needed.
The Corsair Professional Series HX450W will be available in Europe and Asia from 24 November 2008 from all good stockists. It is backed by an industry-leading 7-year warranty and comprehensive customer support via telephone, email, forum and the Tech Support Express helpdesk.

:D
That HX450 is one hell of a understated PSU. If it uses the same stuff as the VX450, well then we're looking at a 550W PSU.
The one I got had that problem until the former owner replaced the fan with a Yate Loon.:) Now she's quiet and frosty:P
The VX450w is a beast. It handled my Q6700/DFI LP UT P35-T2R/8800gt/3 WD hard drives no problem. I don't know how the hell that happens. I saw some article about some guy overclocking a Q6700 on dry ice with one. I lol'd and tried just normal air.
