Palit Announces GTS 250 series 2GB, 1GB and 512MB

While the marketing wants you to believe that 2GB will provide "no-lag visual performance when using high standard monitors" for your games, media, etc, it can actually be usual to some. I'm not saying "a lot", just some :)

Unless you do digital graphics and video day in and day out, you probably don't need a Quadro. The Quadro CX is pretty much a GTX260 with 1.5GB. This card is a fraction of the cost while still be competitive performance-wise.

multi monitor set ups thats all about i can think of for 2gb of ram for an average user

overkill so much its lulz whats the point in re-badging 8000series so much? okay better clocks and better design but essentially its based on those cards right?

why not just make a downgraded gtx260 that would kill the 9000series

ZOMG! TWO GIGGLEBITES I MUST HAVE ONE IT IS TEH BEST PERFORM CARD EVA!!

One rebadge I wouldn't mind seeing is the 9800 GX2; that was a monster card, still is, and if they worked on it some more, improved cooling, made it 55nm, it'd still be a great performer.

thats an interesting thought, go 55nm, improved clockspeeds, with 1gb vram per gpu, price it right and youve got a stunner.

Sadly, imo this GPU isn't fast enough to make 2GB perform much if any faster than the 1GB and possibly 512MB version of the card. 2GB of Vram might be good for high resolutions, but you need Vram bandwidth and/or GPU power to get there.
