The AMD Athlon 600 was a desktop processor with 1 core, launched in November 1999. It is part of the Athlon Model 2 lineup, using the Pluto architecture with Slot A. Athlon 600 has 512 KB of L2 cache and operates at 600 MHz. AMD is building the Athlon 600 on a 180 nm production process using 22 million transistors. The multiplier is locked on Athlon 600, which limits its overclocking capabilities.
With a TDP of 28 W, the Athlon 600 consumes only little energy. The highest officially supported memory speed is 100 MT/s, but with overclocking (and the right memory modules) you can go even higher. Actual memory technology support depends on the chosen motherboard, because the memory controller is located on the motherboard (not in the processor). For communication with other components in the machine, Athlon 600 uses a PCI-Express N/A connection. This processor does not have integrated graphics, you will need a separate graphics card. Inside the box you will not only find the processor, but also a Yes cooler.
A lot of games will not work on this processor, because they require the SSE instruction set, which is not supported.
