Quadro Driver v387.95 is working perfectly also (K6000 2-WaySLI on X9DA7 mobo.)

I found DifferentSLI.exe minor bug.
If exist nvlddmkm.sys.bak in same folder, DifferentSLI.exe goto hang or cant' patch nvlddmkm.sys file
Before runnning DifferentSLI.exe, should delete .bak file

Will fix it later, thanks for reporting

Good,

I have the following:

-Windows 10 Pro x64 - Build 1709 - 17025.1000
-2x Nvidia GTX580 1.5gb
-Driver Nvidia 388.13
-P5Q Deluxe + 4x2gb 1066+ Xeon x5460@4.1

My old SLI build with gtx560 and Patch 1.6 works perfect...

My problem is that having a clean installation of OS as drivers when trying to run the DifferentSLI Patch (1.6, 1.7 or 1.7.1) and modifying the path of my file nvlddmkm.sys, does not work and will die this error:

Welcome to DifferentSLI Patcher 1.7.1, please read instructions carefully
: Press "Patch!" to patch your driver.
[C]: This is a Win7 / 8 / 8.1 driver file, running win7 mode
[E]: Could not find patch # 2.
[C]: Patching was aborted because some patch locations could not be found.

Someone could help me, I have already read several pages but I have checked the routes and everything is correct, folder permissions and as a user Admnistrator and also tested from cmd.

Regards and excuse my English from GoogleTranslator (I'm from Spain: P)

Has anyone tried and gotten DSR to work? I'm getting intense flickering, as if each alternate frame doesn't render (black) or something with SLI enabled. DSR works on each card individually.
I couldn't find any mention in this thread regarding DSR, perhaps its a limitation?
I'm running 16x/4x (bandwidth limitation?) with an SLI bridge. Native resolution is 1650x1050.

Thank you much for your work! It works perfectly for my 1050 TI's (w/o SLI brigde, for testing purposes on an outdated board).

Cheers.

If you are using Windows 10, Scroll up a bit

could you help me getting sli setup on my 970s ?
In all honesty, I have only tried it on Windows 10, and I don't have a windows 7 system to try it on, sorry.
I could be wrong, but the patcher binary is the same, and detects the version of the driver file? Modifying the cmd script might be different to correct the path to the sys file.
I thought there was a version for windows 7 specifically, but i don't know.
If someone else with experience with this could chime in, that would be helpful.

Don't have a Win7 system either, but IIRC this one should work:
https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/sli-with-different-cards.158907/page-92#post-3701005

Also make sure to follow these instructions:
https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/sli-with-different-cards.158907/page-88#post-3644795
It's still valid except that the respective version numbers are higher now.

The install will very likely not work without using that procedure.
The addendum for Win10 I did in that post may be needed or not, seems dependent on the system.

On Win7 the paths might be completely different; probably it's C:\Windows\System32\drivers\
Find out by double clicking your main display adapter in Device Manager -> Tab: Driver -> Driver Details and locate your nvlddmkm.sys.
Change your install.bat accordingly.

Thanks so much for this awesome program.

I followed Pinkpanthers instructions for windows 10 and it worked with driver 388.31 but I did have to do something additional and I figured I'd put my notes in here.

It didn't work right away after following the instructions. I rebooted and Windows would not load the new Nvidia driver. It was saying it was not signed with a valid certificate I think. I had to totally disable windows 10 from looking for signed drivers, which apparently I now have to do every single time I reboot. However after doing that my computer booted up fine and I was able to enable SLI.(after closing NVContainer{the control panel} several times it finally let me enable SLI)

I understand the step with bcdedit or whatever it is where you set "No integrity checks" to true should solve that issue. However it did not in my case although the command did say it completed successfully.

Also of note was that I never had a "nvlddmkm.sys" in my C:\Windows\System32\drivers the file did not exist at all. Also I had to go into C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository not just C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore to find the specified file. I followed everything in the guide and instead of replacing the file in C:\Windows\System32\drivers that doesn't exist I just copied it in and everything seems to be working. Not sure why I didn't have that file where everybody says I should.

Hopefully I can eventually get it so that it works on every reboot without messing with things but I'm happy for now.

We have had this question come up here ever so often, without solution, since this project has no official maintainer and has been updated only by various volunteers.
I understand the step with bcdedit or whatever it is where you set "No integrity checks" to true should solve that issue. However it did not in my case although the command did say it completed successfully.
These three bcdedit commands along with setting UAC to low ought to be enough to activate test signing mode and enable Windows to load an unsigned driver. Also these settings will be kept across reboots.
The location of the nvlddmkm.sys actually used by your nVidia installation can be found by double clicking your main display adapter in Device Manager -> Tab: Driver -> Driver Details.

The CA issue will never be solved since resigning the driver blob involves pulling off the original driver signature and will cause other driver components refuse to load.

Besides, resigning the driver blob with non-testsigning certs will seriously violate the EULA and will cause severe legal issues.
