RTX 4070 Ti Price :(

OMG are you all having Stockholm Syndrome at this point? the 1070ti cost 449$ at launch *

*545 adjusted for inflation
I paid US$350 for a gtx970 from evga when it launched and I felt that it was expensive.
While that is by no means what I meant, it's an interesting point you've brought up. I know at least four RTX 4090 owners that are bordering on tech illiterate, they bought it for the sole reason "it's the most expensive and supposedly fastest graphics product around", in fact one of these people still runs 16 GB of RAM...
I know someone that bought a 4080 for US$1400 for his kid, so he can have the best performance in Fortnite at 1080p…. ::D

I think nvidia will do $799 for the 4070 ti. and if it matches/beats a 7900 XT without DLSS being on, I mean that's not a horrible deal. especially considering it will support frame generation DLSS3.

something tells me it won't be able to beat a 7900 XT though for majority of games.

4070Ti should tie with 7900XT, and at 800usd it make 7900XT/X look stupid.
AMD is just tossing their marketshare out the window at this rate.

well 7900 XT has not even sold out ever since launch on any site, so maybe AMD will lower prices on it next month. if 7900 Xt is $799 I probably will grab it for that price.

Or you can wait 6 months and it fall to 650usd, 7900XT is barely an upgrade from 6800XT anyways, why the rush

If 7900xt is to cost 650, 4070ti should be 599 for it's at least 15% slower. No way it ties

If Nvidia priced 4070Ti at 600usd, it would probably wipe AMD off the dGPU market and put Nvidia under anti-trust laws

@AusWolf
this world isn't so materialistic? lol.
look how many ppl have a phone that can do more than talk and text (thats the reason to have a phone, as in communication while mobile)?
how many have upgraded their device in the past 5/10/20y more than once in 3y?
all "want", not "need"...
Like I said before, there's nothing wrong with wants, as long as you acknowledge them as such, don't confuse them with needs, and don't let them rule over your life.

Buying a phone that can do more than talk and text because of a feature you need, or you're just interested in is one thing. Wetting your pants in front of the Apple store during every product launch is another.

I wouldn’t lose sleep over the government doing anything, since nvidia has already done way worse things and the results are shown on your graph. If interested in learning some of them, read them here:

That said, that graph is interesting, considering and especially during the pandemic, all the gpus that amd produced were sold, where the heck did they go?

coming from r/AMD i'm sure it made sure it made sure to get what both sides and not just one /s

So now in 20 years Nvidia did all that and AMD is running for Pope or something, the holiest of companies, give me a break. I don't know much about corporate shenanigans and i can tell you the amount of times AMD screwed their customers, me included, with shitty products, false advertising, bad drivers, awful software, abandoning their products and the customers that bought them, ignoring customers grievances for years, etc...
Pope AMD when?

coming from r/AMD
Funny enough, r/AMD is overrun by nvidia fanbois. The only posts accepted are for amd cpus. Thats why that link is for another sub, because when he posted in r/AMD, was taken down by a mod that coincidentally only has nvidia gpus, so he ended creating that sub (r/AMDGPU) so their owners could chat about their purchases without being downvoted/harassed.
By the way, i stopped following r/AMD a long time ago for that reason.

Out of the 3 (amd, intel and nvidia), AMD has shown to be way less evil, so they have my support, until they turn into nvidia.
I don't know much about corporate shenanigans
That list is a good place to start.
i can tell you the amount of times AMD screwed their customers, me included, with shitty products, false advertising, bad drivers, awful software, abandoning their products and the customers that bought them, ignoring customers grievances for years, etc...
In 30 plus years in the industry, personally, i have experienced those things from almost all companies in different degrees, but the worse has come from nvidia, intel and Microsoft.
Pope AMD when?
I wouldn’t call them Pope, but i can call nvidia the devil and seems that apple, sony, MS, evga, all government agencies involved in the failed ARM purchase, Linus Torvalds and many others agree with me and others.

Funny that you are currently observing how nvidia is pretty much abusing their position in the market with the insane pricing and yet you get upset at AMD and defend nvidia from the link i posted above, which you can double check yourself and see if they are lies.

He came with checkable facts your leaning on opinion.

No company is the pope, but the 4### series pricing is what's at debate here, and maligned so let's stick with that.

Pope AMD when?
Come on man, having a go at nvidia is fair game in any thread, but don't have a go at AMD unless it's on topic!

nvidia the devil, aren't we exaggerating just a biiiiiiiiiit. :D

I don't like any company in particular or hate any of them at that level, that's not healthy dude. But Nvidia hasn't done me as much wrong as AMD did, and the GPU market share seems to agree with me, and that's what ultimately judges these companies. I like Ryzen but i doubt i will buy a AMD gpu anytime soon, even if they are cheaper.

But i think my point is: is this healthy in any way, shilling for a company, or hate for a company like this, any company? Don't like Nvidia move along.

Reads thread title.

Guy's does this look like the Nvidia appreciation thread to you.

It's you apologists that need to jog on with your whataboutism shiiiiii ite.

You are the Nvidia defence brigade though so Your mention of shilling is hyper ironic.

sure mate you do you.

1400$ for a 4070ti? if this doesn't immediately scream absurd to anyone i'm in shock.
I hate consoles but if this is the way forward i would prefer to buy one then spend that much money on a mid tier gpu. Unless it can cook and vacuum.

A bit more serious, this is out of control, no way the cost of manufacturing a mid tier gpu more then tripled since the 1070ti (cost 449 at launch). This is INSANITY.

but going from this to Nvidia the devil and praise the saint AMD is a bit too much. And this wasn't even about AMD.

saya a lot, when things prior to 2006 are listed, as amd didnt own ati before that,
so it needs to be 2006 and up for, cheating against amd, which also means less then those 20y.
not sure how im supposed to believe the rest of the information, when the basics aren't even right.

not defending Nv (or ATI/AMD for that matter), but some need to accept the planet is run on capitalism
with greedy companies, and as long as we arent talking about them doing illegal stuff, fine by me,
as the top few in the same business will always try to get an edge, the same we see with countries,
and this wont change soon...

saya a lot, when things prior to 2006 are listed, as amd didnt own ati before that,

But Nvidia was still... you know, Nvidia ? Or do you think they cared whether they were screwing AMD or ATI ?

sure mate you do you.

but going from this to Nvidia the devil and praise the saint AMD is a bit too much. And this wasn't even about AMD.
Note who mentioned AMD, wasn't me and I am not here slating Nvidia.
And you yourself came back with pope AMD? Wtaf.

Just the price of this card.

Man, you can really move the goalpost to keep defending poor Nvidia.

One, you replied to my post, all offended even though I didn't mentioned you at all.

Two, you involved "religious" themes to push your bias, yet it's a problem when it's correctly used against your beloved nvidia .

Three, for someone that doesn't worship corporations, you have somehow ignored facts and instead doubled down on whataboutism.

Oh weel, as you said, you do you.

i was just replying to a post, if you couldn't see that when you replied you have a problem. The quote was right there dude, wtf. You should read stuff and not just blindly (and i mean legally blind to have missed it) quote people. I'm just going to ignore all this. Read next time.

Or you can wait 6 months and it fall to 650usd, 7900XT is barely an upgrade from 6800XT anyways, why the rush
Incorrect, lets talk facts regarding your statement, Say your a pro sim racer and your dipping just below your required Framerate on certain tracks etc. & you have turned your detail level down, run at a lower resolution and still get dips affecting your control of the simulated vehicle.
An extra 27% might be all you need to keep a locked 100FPS on all track / car configurations and with current pricing yes its not the best price perf the 7900XT, Just saying your statement is wrong.

The 7900 has wider bus / faster memory interface / more memory + many more improvements. Compared to the 6800XT.

Back to the TOPIC The 4070ti is not out yet, but doing basic maths on the pipeline / bus / memory doesn't bode well for current estimated price / performance. Not to mention the whole NVidia trying to pass this off as a 4080?? the bare faced greed plain to see.
It shouldn't even have the 4070 tag either but the majority of the tame tech presstituess are too fearful to bite the hand that feeds them and call it for what it is, a plain rip off and trying to push up the tiering of pricing for its own product Stack.

Final thing > we can all agree current GPU pricing is madness and not just related to this industry, the cost of living crisis is caused by all these Corps that have a monopoly on the market maximising profit margins.
People are sleepwalking into being ripped off permanently, Just don't buy them, turn your detail level down, run at a lower resolution.
At some point in history, profit became more important then quality of life for all..
The Media have a lot to answer for. Critical thinking is not allowed it seems.

I did, whataboutism apologiest bullshit but but AMD did stuff they're not the pope.

Read your own shilly shit some time eh.

Preach it! That's why I refuse to call them reviewers and instead call them influencers.
The Media have a lot to answer for.
Correct again.
Critical thinking is not allowed it seems.
Bingo and add that somehow having a moral compass is also not allowed.

Having visited Germany and Japan many times as flight crew, I would say they are the highlights of Capitalism, they both offer incredible customer services that aim to extract the most money out of customers while making them happy :D.

Same with Nvidia I guess.

Yes, only you have the capacity for critical thinking, everyone who buy Nvidia severely lack critical thinking I guess, 86% of the dGPU market can't even think for themselves :D

PS: a pro Sim racer who can't afford a 4090, despite his livelyhood depends on high FPS? where does such individual exist LMAO
