Hi,
Yeah curved sun glasses are all the same in the cheapo area local walmart has the same crapola
None are worth beans but doing riding it's not like you need much done either lol
All are about useless in clarity only the flat cheapo lenses are better for clarity.

Mine are not polarized afaik, maybe the orange lenses are as they saturate, idk.
do polarized glasses even do anything? i thought the cheap ones were mostly bogus tinfoil stuff.

the only way to reduce glare etc is with proper coated lenses?

i wear prescription lenses so i get the best lenses from Crizal (essilor) and they work great!
I wear glasses -0.5; -0.75 degrees, no cylinder curve although it should be at least on one eye to help focusing faster and for a crisper view. But it does various negative stuff like distorting height perception, bends straight lines, it's a pain to get used to. I hate glasses really, apart from utility ones. Probably will go for a surgical removal of diopters. It's a really disgusting surgical procedure (only local anesthesia, and you need to look straight without blinking the whole damn time). I destroy my glass lenses working on the construction sites, scratching it badly and replacing them after just a few months.

Well here we are with a few more buys from the last few months... I wished I'd done this sooner but there we go... So.... :)

20231108_152933.jpg 20231108_165023.jpg 20231108_165032.jpg

The thermal pads where for a RTX 3080 I was having issues with some temps, so had to test out if it was a dead cooler or if there was a problem with the copper shims I had installed on the card.
The NVME I might have already put up (apologies if I have!) was for the give away we have for the WCG, FAH, Rosetta team give away in our Kriejl giveaway :) Which is by the way, still up for grabs....
I also found a very good price on some network cards I will toying with the idea of buying.... Which I ended up buying....

20231111_154924.jpg

5 10Gb dual port cards.. Use the Intel T540 drivers I believe, which I got rather cheaply at just under £40 a card :) It was a shame when they arrived as I had to pay an import tax which kinda made them not as cheap as I had hoped but after talking to the seller, they had given me a half refund on the import tax which wasn't great but better than nout.

After a few Prime deals and a few things for Christmas was on offer, I sadly couldn't resist :)

20231127_165149.jpg 20231211_214233.jpg 20231225_093806.jpg 20231211_214311.jpg20231211_220913.jpg20231211_224646.jpg

I saw a cheap deal for some CPUs I was after, always with the bad timing but I thought £170 for a 5800X and £240 for a 5900X CPU, I thought it was too good to be true, so I bought them :) It was for our WCG teams we have for the 5900X (an upgrade from the 3900X that was in there before) and then the pair of 3900X's I had from there, would go into my girls rigs, so they both have 3900X's now and Rosie has a 3950X which I thought worked out well :)
I had also managed to find a few other things on my watch list that was knocked down and cheap and finally I had got around to testing a PSU I had bought months ago from our @the54thvoid which I will leave feed back for as well :) No issues when testing the CPUs, it worked perfectly well :)
The Funko Pops I'm not sure why I started on those, but that ended up me spending more than I ever thought possible but I'm not looking to buy anything else now!!

This next item I was rather frustrated with but I did have my doubts when I ordered it... I saw on Amazon that these WD Black PCIe NVME Cards where on offer for the 4TB versions, I think something about the £240 each ish mark.... Well when they turned up.......

20231214_163027.jpg

They were a little bit smaller than I had expected.... Sadly they have been sent back now, won't be bothering with them again.... The reviews as well, didn't seem so great sadly....

Anyways, a few more Vinyl LPs I saw and I couldn't say no too....

20231220_152620.jpg20231220_152628.jpg20231221_161838.jpg20231227_155334.jpg20231227_155348.jpg

I bought the Queen set for my Dad for Christmas, grabbed him also Tublular Bells 3 and a Roger Walters Pink Floyd album as well, which I think all where special editions
I noticed the Oasis one's I had been putting off to buy for a little while but sadly waiting too long was not a good idea and lost out on the other albums I was hoping to get but I'm sure I can track them down at some point :) The two Linkin Park albums where Special Editions and big ones at that... The Meteora album after I had bought it, had gone up £50, so I'm glad I bought it when I did.... Now all I do need is a record desk to listen to them all on!! I also found out that I will need to replace my AV Processor as my sub output has decided to pack up and stop working... I can't really complain to be honest, it is somewhere about the 22 years old......

I hope that was some interest to some one other than myself!! :D  Hope everyone is doing alright!! :)

Lol. I have 3 pairs (computer, night driving, and amber lens sunglasses) as it genuinely helps eye strain.

Dunno about sleep patterns and all that though. It definitely does screw with colors, but I don't care that much with what I do while using them.

It's Phill, so he'll tell us if he has any issues.
I like to make sure people have some knowledge, even if I'm not the most intelligent :D

To be honest, they where bought simply because I was trying something out with my 'server' with 16 SATA drives and I had ran out of ports on the board, so I needed something that I could use that was quick and not a mechanical drive as that would kill me trying to load the OS.. So I tried a PCIe adaptor card (first time a 1x and then went to a 4x) and it worked perfectly :) I'm using them in my Z170 OCF motherboards, I'd like to try and grab a CPU for each of them but they are working just fine with what they currently have at the moment (a 6700k and a i3 6320 from my overclocking days...)

I went with the 512GB version for the give away as I thought, rather than give someone a HD for the OS and such, why not give them an NVME... Was cheap and I thought it was worth a shot :) I can't complain with the 256GB models I had, they work perfectly well for £16 :) I think that 512GB model was about £25?? I couldn't find a Crucial for less than £40 for 512GB at the time, so I thought, I'd give it a go. Amazon has a load of reviews on the drive, so I thought, what the heck and why not give it a go :)

Another one!?!?!? :D :D

Hi,
Yeah wood on a torch cutting/ welding table definitely passing the ghetto qualifications :rockout:
The wood is to isolate the (grounded) tabletop from the bottles - I would hate to accidentally brush a stick against a grounded oxygen bottle.

25 ft cutting hoses, not for use on the table.

I'd sleep better if you had a higher wooden back-board. That looks like 3.5" where 9" would be better!

I'd sleep better if you had a higher wooden back-board. That looks like 3.5" where 9" would be better!

Electrically isolated, that was the main point. Any large projects with enough spatter to make it a danger will be done off of the table.

Also, why stop at 9"?

Saw a too good to pass up deal on a pair of Empire Ears Legend X and PM'd about them before I really thought the expense through...

So yeah. This will be the most I've spent on any pair of headphones or IEMs so far by quite a bit.

Yikes they are costly, they better sound like it.

Oh, I'm not paying retail, buying used. Even so, they're like, OLED TV money.

I've had a pair of the Bravado Mk2 for a couple of years, a newer but lower end model, and have always been curious about the Legend X and Evo. Thankfully if it turns out I don't like it, or the Bravado is nearly as good to my ears, I'm getting a good enough deal that I'll probably only lose like $50 on the flip, if that.

And yes, they're definitely something special. You have no idea what IEM bass can be like till you hear their X series IEMs. I laughed when they first described their fully custom dynamic driver as a "subwoofer" - they're 9mm! - but then I heard them. The Bravados have one a side, the Legend X have 2. I pretty much always run EQ because the stock tuning is too bass heavy for me, but they're very technically capable once it's toned down.

I hadn't noticed, but you're right!
