Continuing from the topic of Win 11 popping up on unsupported PCs and then not actually being available, I think that it WAS a glitch like me and @lexluthermiester have suspected. Possibly caused by this:

Windows 11 23H2 is now broadly available to all "seekers"

Starting July 17, Microsoft is releasing Windows 11 23H2 to users with eligible devices who manually check for updates. This means that the OS won't yet

Probably MS messed something up when adding 23H2 to the broadest possible channel. Goes to show that they absolutely DO have means of distributing the new OS to everyone without any requirements, they just choose not to. We knew this already, but… good to know.

If you use cloud based apps, you might be experiencing problems related to the ongoing CrowdStrike outage affecting 10s of millions of computers world wide. CrowdStrike pushed out an faulty update that caused many Windows based computers to crash, which, in turn, caused many systems globally to either crash, or greatly slow down.

CrowdStrike is in the process of rolling back that flawed update, but obviously it will take awhile.

Lucky for you because many affected were seeing BSODs. At least you were not dead in the water.

Now if you are not using any cloud based apps, then as Roseanne Roseannadanna would say, "Never mind".

Wait, what? Tell us more.

Not much to tell. I was away for four weeks, and when I came home and started the computer I was greeted by that full screen Get Windows 11 now screen, prior to login. Before that Windows Update has always said the computer isn't compatible (because I turned off TPM in BIOS).

Question, if I do a clean install anyway, does M$ block my windows 10 OEM key it's running?

In other words would windows 11 get a valid upgrade with the 10 Key it has?

You can activate Win11 with a Win10 key. So it should work.

They say they do, but I’ve yet to see an instance of them actually doing it. Chances are, Win 11 will install just fine on your laptop, will received updates and overall work as expected. Of course, technically, as per TOS that MS pushes, doing so would be an “at your own risk” kinda deal.

If you use bypasses to install 11 and use your 10 key for the free upgrade, that key will permanently be converted into a Windows 11 license. It will not be black-listed, if that's what you're worried about.

Ok, I just spent a few hours trying this out a two different spare machines. Seems to work great! When configured the way I like it, this helps cut my installation pain from massively involved & unpleasant, to minor annoyance.

Ok, here it is. Fair warning, I've disabled a TON of stuff, including Windefend. So either re-enable it, install something else for security or stay off the net.

No password on the zip. It's a standard XML file and is easily inspected. No janky-jank here.

Defender isn’t a problem for these PCs, they aren’t connected to either the internet or our intranet. They are literally just test platforms for me to fuck around with and test things.

It is a OEM HP laptop with pre-installed windows 10, does it work for that.

Edit: So it seems I can find the original win10 key with the instructions of that site, I will try that when needed next year.

There are utilities you can use to extract it from the BIOS, however as long as you use the OEM base install, activated with the OEM, and use a properly bypass-patched iso of 11, you can upgrade using the installed key.

Win 11 just shat in my face tonight.

Switched out my crucial P5 500gb for the sn850X 1tb, did a clone to new drive which worked fine (it seemed) After a reboot got a 0xc0000000e error, which i could not figure out how to recover from (still got the install on the other partition) So if anyone has any idea, i might be able to repair it. In the meantime i am running off win 10 pro, auto activated too which is nice.

That seems more like a hardware issue than a software issue, given that error code. Could also be an update thing. That error code is the indicator.

That seems more like a hardware issue than a software issue, given that error code. Could also be an update thing. That error code is the indicator.

The ssd was still detected in the bios, and win 10 is installed on the second partition on it, with the win 11 partition still being there and accessable, so i don't think the SSD failed or anything.

Also checked with the WD program and the 1tb SSD is on 99% health, my 4tb one is on 100% so cannot see a problem there.

Welcome to using custom ISO's. So much easier not having to go through all the prompts on installation. Although automating the partitioning needs to be done carefully.
