Oh man I read of upgrade woes here... I set up a new PC with Win 11 LTSC yesterday and it was the smoothest installation ever. Took all of 10 minutes from USB bootable to the desktop. Including activation. And its the last I'll ever do with it too.

Is this similar to ntlite?
No. This is an scripting XML file that get run during setup to customize the install.

Although automating the partitioning needs to be done carefully.
Never done that. I ALWAYS setup the partitions manually BEFORE the install.

Welcome to using custom ISO's. So much easier not having to go through all the prompts on installation. Although automating the partitioning needs to be done carefully.
I've been using custom ISOs for nearly 2 decades. The novelty of having a VERY customized autounattend file that you don't have to write yourself is amazing!

I dont do it either, just too much downsides, the closest I have come is made a text file, that you can input to diskpart as pre defined commands, so could edit it prior to running to matching the current system's configuration.

I have a win10 pro key that activates win11 pro for me every time I reinstall win11. Greatest purchase ever. I have 0 problems with win11. I just wish I could make the task bar transparent!

Another one down. Seems like Microsoft is intent on closing the windows down.
That "fix" has already been bypassed and will be worked into the next version of Rufus.

Somehow, I'm not surprised. Are you talking about being able to use
Code:
setup.exe /product server
or do you mean just use some of the other existing bypasses?

It says install date as 2022 but it only got installed last night and I didnt bother setting the time in the bios after using bios flashback to get the system running. I used rufus tweak an W11 iso so i could do an offline account setup and W11 was fully installed and partially setup before I even plugged it in to the network to get all the updates.

Ive just been tweaking and customising it here and there. Things like bring back the old context menus and trying to get it to look like old W10 without any scripts or open/classicshell etc etc.

software side of it is mostly done, Still some odds and ends to tidy up.

I was going to attempt Win 10 LTSC but the website I had hoped to be buying from looked a little dodgy although I swear ive seen them being advertised on TPU before.

Im going to run a script from privacy.sexy to kill some of the telemetry but for the most part it seems im here with W11 for a while. Not sure how long though but I am here.

If they take PayPal, they're reasonably trustworthy as they have to agree to abide by the terms of dispute results, which generally favor the buyer, especially if the buyer is in the EU, UK or USA.

I wonder if W11 latest update will benefit on 5700G performance? Still haven't used W11 yet though so idk if I should make the jump. Problem I worried about is my X-Fi Titanium HD might not work on W11 because its EOL long time ago.

Hello Windows 11 users, is there any benefit, gaming wise, to switch to Windows 11 from Windows 10 ?

People think it's a good idea to turn off this "recall" because it's active by default. I heard that it keeps spying on the PC, taking a screenshot every 10 seconds and other things.

Hardware unboxed made a video about this very same question

The real question here though is if the recent ryzen optimisations for W11 are also going to be rolled out for W10 - If both of them are patched then it probably doesnt matter.

Recall is only available on "Copilot" PCs tho, if I recall correctly.

I don't have it on my x86-64 system, tho I'm not sure if that's not because I turned off Copilot through Group Policy.

Seems to be Copilot+ PCs only. So, ARM PCs with certain Snapdragon SoCs. x86 world doesn't have to care about it right now

Nope, still works. For the SoundBlaster PCIe line of cards, all Windows 7/8/8.1/10 drivers work as intended in Windows 11. I have personally tested this. This is one of the thing I LOVE about the change from 10 to 11, they brought back certain levels of compatibility they took out or screwed up(and who knows which) with 10.

Windows 11 installed as microsoft intends(IE default, unaltered install), no there almost no differences. However, a debloated install of Win11 runs upto 6%(depending on the game) faster than a similarly debloated Win10 install.

So simple answer isn't so simple. It depends.

Lovely! that's good to hear! I can't imagine not using a soundcard, yes USB DAC is a possibility but I prefer to use internal soundcard.

Have you looked at the SBRecon3D, SBZ or AE5? All of those still have active Windows 11 support from Creative.
I did. Recon3D uses internal DAC in its DSP so I won't buying that, Z looks nice because it uses my favorite CS4398 DAC. Sad these card don't use CA20K2 DSP chip, but hardware acceleration audio is dead long time ago

As I said, we need to bring that conversation over here. Continuing..

If it was THAT simple I wouldn't have brought it up. Any overlay in any game shows INCORRECT CPU usage values, even if you have a regular P-core only CPU.
No it doesn't. Works exactly the same in Win11 as it does 10 or 8.1 or 7.
This is a known issue and M$ are to never fix this because screw Windows users in particular. Anyhow, yeah, that's off topic so perhaps I'll come up with a full-on W11 trashing in the appropriate thread because frankly, this is the worst OS I've ever seen. BY FAR.
Link for citation or it didn't happen. EVERYONE is using overlays for stats and if the stats weren't accurate every reviewer on the planet would be screaming bloody murder about it. I have personally tested a number of games and the stats are reported accurately.
