NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Founders Edition

Between it being difficult to manufacture these things (otherwise we’d have dozens of companies and not 2) and AI demand.
We had 4 big companies, 1 disappeared, one got absorbed, and now we have a new, small GPU division in Intel, which everyone is hoping succeeds, as more competition is better for consumers.
Again, simple supply and demand. The GPU (and the car or house you’re buying) is worth whatever the market is willing to pay for it.
(Mostly thanks to AI ATM)
If I was Nvidia I’d increase the MSRP to $1500. It’ll probably still sell out. If we as consumers don’t like it, we can just not buy it and they’ll lower the prices.
What's that one quote about a sucker is born every minute? Glad we aren't those guys.
Complaining online is just toxic and doesn’t do anything to the price
Let people complain. They get to vent their anger out on a anonymous internet forum rather than on other people in real life. People are already gonna vote with their wallets anyway; so they're not only voting with words.

According to the graphs, only Alan Wake 2 falls in this category. What other titles have run out?
Indiana jones and the great circle demolishes VRAM.

I kind of expected this card to be on par with 7900 XT or 4070 Ti performance.
My expectation was wrong. 7900 XT for 600 € is much better choice than RTX 5070.
RTX 5070 sales launch tomorrow but we all know there are no pieces in stock.

This should have been RTX 5060 to make sense.

So much for RTX 5070 being as powerful as RTX 4090 and shame on all those who believed in this Jensen's bullshit.

If nvidia could do so without destroying their brand, then sure why not?

See, you had me until here. As consumers, it is our right to voice our discontent with the price or performance or features of hardware. Calling it "ToXiC" is corpo schlong sucking.
People have been complaining about Nvidia since the 30 series and the crypto bubble. Not only things haven’t improved, but they actually got worse. So no, complaining online doesn’t work. You can do it and help reinforce negative thinking to your brain, but it won’t help with reducing the prices.

Secondly, Nvidia’s gaming division share of its total revenue is minuscule. Cut it in half (which you won’t because there’s no competition but whatever) and they’ll still be the biggest valued company in the world. AI and servers are that big for them.

The options you have left is either constantly complaining and being negative and toxic, or vote with your wallet and in your next elections for a party that will improve the situation with regulations as you can’t trust capitalistic companies to do it

I feel the same way about every new scalped product. Look how much MONEY they're leaving on the table. It's insanity. Sony did it with the PS5.

Computerbase.de got a mail which said something about only available later in March.....did you get something similar?

I think I could give ampere a pass because I could blame it on covid, but the 40 series left a weird, mixed taste in my mouth until the supers arrived, and this 50 series launch has been my least favorite in any GPU launch history. The two GPU's I was excited for; the 5060 and 5070, because midrange, and one of them is already turning out to be pitifully mid.

I mean, AMD isn't any different, its just data centers. They're going into AI too, they're just really late to the party.

I have a mouthful of things I wish I could talk about in regards to politics and PC hardware.. but I know I shouldn't drag politics into this. I'll just say that I'm gonna vote with my wallet, but that doesn't mean that I'm not gonna be bothered or miffed. I'll go buy a team red or team blue card and be happy while NVIDIA sulks away from me. Some call that compromising, I call that picking a product I know i'll be more satisfied with.

5070 and 5090 can do x4 MFG at the same perfomance. Does it mean that 5090 with 3 times more tensor cores can do x12 MFG?

Again, voicing displeasure at a corporations' actions is not "toxic". This isn't reddit, we're allowed to disagree with the message here. Their consumer division is still a multi billion dollar industry. It's 1/3rd the size of ALL of nvidia's datacenter sales, not just AI. See, corporations can actually focus on more then just 1 market at a time.

I'm combining it with voting with my wallet. There's an RTX 5080 in store close to my work, and it has been sitting there since it arrived in first week since release. Sure, it's 1680 EUR, but not even one gamer / AI acceleration enthusiast is convinced? Crazy, huh?

My gosh, the tech industry these days is getting almost comical in how bad it is. My head hurts because of how THE ENTIRE GENERATION is such a pathetic dud. All of them are crap barely changed from Ada that also happen to be made of unobtanium and have a bad habit of catching on fire unless you follow leather jacket man's SOP to the iota. What a joke.

4090 Performance LMFAO?

So what are they launching today and yesterday “previews” for certain “chosen ones” media outlets? This is a real shit show to be honest.

Still can't find that statement on the site, but I am probably just missing it.....thanks for sharing though and the work in the past weeks to get all the cards done.

I can't find TPU looking at Indiana Jones performance, so I can't tell whether it uses that much VRAM or only allocates that much (yeah, the old story).

What's even more of joke is this and the 5060 will be topping the steam survey charts in no time.
I guess that most of the Steam top popular cards are bought in the form of prebuilt PCs.

would be a nice card, perfect for 1440p+RT, but not with 12GB. not for this price, at least

Thanks for the review W1z can't imagine how painful it was reviewing this turd.

Another one bites the dust.
