So 5090 is barely 30% faster than 4090 in non Frame Generation situations. Expected more of a jump, 4090 vs 3090Ti was ~40% uplift.

Closer to 40-50% going by this in PT I think the 4090 would be in the 19-21 range but for sure need to just wait for reviews.

Now we know why AMD bailed on RDNA 4 this afternoon. They knew they would have been a laughing stock after this.

AMD just got KO’d.
Wait for it. All data shown in the Nvidia keynote is FG-enabled fake shit. There's no raw performance comparison with the 40 series.

The DLSS3 FG is ok enough if you have 60+fps natively. Below that it’s unusable.
And above that it's pointless.

I saw him out of NY, I thought he was trolling. Yeah the price is what it is in 'murica... Oversea, I feel sorry for ya'll as its gonna be expensive as all hell.
Yeah it sucks for our foreign friends if they either don't have a stable economy or if they have to have import fees/tariffs/taxes tacked on to their price. Not sure how else we can get the price close to MSRP for them.

There is one it shows 30% higher performance but it's a very cpu limited game even at 4k so have to wait and see. 4090 vs 5090

Website is up with some charts that give a better indication, looks like those two titles are the most 'apples to apples' comparisons they're offering right now, not skewed by Muti FG.

Pixel counting the bar graph, I think Far Cry 6 is 33% faster and A Plague Tale: Requiem is 35% faster. Did I count it right?

Edit: I went to the nvidia website and counted using the higher res SVG. FC6 is 28% and A Plague Tale is 43%.

Edit 2: the height and width values in the SVG markup confirm +28% and +43% for the 5090 vs 4090 comparison.

For real. 30% at 575w thermal design point. Thats a bit higher than the 4090 also I believe. Was 450w wasn't it? Should give some power supplies are good workout I think. :)

Looks about right the Path traced cyberpunk looks to be 40-50% best case and you would expect slightly higher path traced gains vs light RT or raster.

if it does end up 30 to 40% faster while not terrible you are also paying 33% more for it so meh.

Well, it brings out the inner snake rather well, suits him. :)

Idk man and we obviously have to wait for reviews to know for sure but 3 out of the 4 cards they announced today have lower MSRP vs the start of the ADA generation worst case we are getting slight price cuts and a feature people can use or not use best case everything is 15-20% faster apples to apples while being slightly cheaper.

In theory, whether there is 1 or 10 frames generated between 2 real frames should not change the frame generation latency overhead so there are no apparent downsides to 3 frame FG. NVidia kinda confirmed that here :

What I found impressive is the new DLSS transformer model.

Aloy's clothing has noticeably more texture detail and top of her bow string looks like an actual rope with new DLSS. Handling of thin lines is impressive and good for NVidia for allowing every RTX card to use the new DLSS.

Oh yeah and to add; the prices don't mean much to me... yet, without some solid performance numbers to accompany them.

Also... if we are going to generate "multiple frames" I really wonder if 16GB VRAM frame buffer will cover that, but let's see, hope we can see some reviews soon.

Neural textures as showcased in the video (check my post on the first page for a link to the documentation) greatly help conserve VRAM capacity. So it should be enough, at least in these latest generation games that will start making use of this new technology

Undoubtedly, but if you can just hold off for a couple of months, you should be able to get something at close to MSRP

Buy a pre-built, pull the card, sell the rest.

I was really only here for GeForce and all we get is a price and TOPS numbers? And a promise from the man who disappointed us last gen about how the 5070 "matches the 4090" and the 5090 is "double the performance of a 4090"? In what? In F#&*%^G WHAT? Room heating?! Avant garde sous vide recipes?! Generating an 8K image of a cat in a spacesuit?! I wanted specifics and all I got was vague ideas. I don't know how you can somehow become worse at presenting performance metrics than AMD or god forbid Intel. Christ.

Other than the extra frames all generations of RTX gpu's benefit from the stuff that matters.... Better super resolution, better ray reconstruction, and better DLAA all the things I care most about..... Neural rendering is interesting but it will be a while before games can take full advantage of that due to not enough people actually owning the gpu's that can do it.

We shall see; Depending on ones resolution, one might run into another issue, that being, if the CPU isn't strong enough when you render games at lower resolutions and upscale them, you run into the same problem as when you benchmark older CPU's on 1080p, I doubt everyone is rocking a 9800X3D. :D

Cope with what? I'm interested in raw performance, not snake oil.

I'm guessing 15% up and down the stack give or take 5% and 35-45% for the 5090... Besides the 5090 all of them are cheaper though the 5080 is almost 300 usd cheaper when accounting for inflation than the 4080 was...

I'm guessing 15% up and down the stack give or take 5% and 35-45% for the 5090 vs what they replace apples to apples.... Besides the 5090 all of them are cheaper though the 5080 is almost 300 usd cheaper when accounting for inflation than the 4080 was...
That's pretty meh, imo. Although, being cheaper is a plus.
