What exactly would you buy instead? and why? Curious to understand your train of thought. I shared my thoughts on that in the last part of the conclusion. I've updated all prices in the review 2 hours ago today, so they should be accurate and good for you to use
A 3060Ti is about the same performance for 3/4 the price...

I don't know what prices you updated for the review. A quick look at newegg shows me this:

- New RX6750XT 12GB for $330.
- New RX6700 10GB for $280.

Do you highly recommend a 4060 Ti 8GB for $400 over a RX 6750XT 12GB for $330 (actually $320 after rebate)?

Maybe make one with "Highly" crossed out. That would be hilarious. I would personally cross out the Recommended as well while at it.

more tiers in the award system won't solve anything, you just proved my point in the same sentence.

I understand some people are saying to get a 3070 ti over this but I did notice a few things. The 3070 ti is %11 faster and is $100 more and uses 300W instead of 150W. With FG on you'll easily pass the 3070 ti as well and be only be 5% slower than a 3080. Especially beats buying the $800 3070 ti last year. I know these cards are pretty unrealistic for most people now adays as they're a bit lower end but my dad uses a 4k 60 hz TV to game on and this is enough to run Forza 5 with DLSS 3 on and get 4k 60 FPS. He's really not a major gamer and that's the hardest to run game that he plays. Finally there's a GPU that is within his price range and can run the game he wants to play well.

I'm willing to bet that there will be some titles where the 6 yo 1080Ti that can now be found for $150 will beat this.
I'll take your bet, how much?

A 3060Ti is about the same performance for 3/4 the price...
But no DLSS 3, a bit higher fan noise, slightly worse efficiency. How much would you pay for that? $50?

$100 that there will be at least one title where the 8GB 4060ti loses to the 11GB 1080Ti at 1440p. And I don't mean 8 vs 7fps. I mean playable framerates. :)

Not according to HUB, they showed in their video the stutters in different games @1080p.
You just need to play the game for more than a few minutes, which is more than the average benchmark.

lol "highly recommended"

This card is a joke without a $100 price cut and recommending it to anyone at $400 is really, really funny.

Ngreedia needs to do better.

Interesting .. so power/heat/noise is irrelevant for you and you don't like DLSS 3 and have RT disabled. $330 to $400 is just 20%, or one AAA game, that's not tempting for you?

You can underclock the 6750XT / 6800 if you are happy with 4060Ti performance and want lower power. DLSS3 is a bit meh although DLSS2 can be of real benefit I do much prefer native or DLAA to fix shoddy TAA in games. As for RT the card can barely handle 1440p, I would not pay $400 for a card that can't handle 1440p with such an obvious shortcoming like the VRAM.

The reality is for RT that by the time it is mainstream which will be PS6 generation at the very earliest even the 4090 will be too slow to handle then current effects so until I see it in a game I really want to play and I see that it really adds something to said game RT is an irrelevant feature right now.

DLSS3 on such a weak gpu, alright.
A BIT fan noise? lol
3060 Ti already is efficient enough.

AMD not releasing something NEW to compete with this does not justify you not bashing the 4060 Ti for what it really is. But hey i guess you think different than the whole world.

The reviews on JonnyGuru for example were both professional and fun. Give it a shot at some point, maybe readers would be more receptive.
Site no longer exists, Jon  went to Corsair to make actual money in the industry and life a good life

Xbox Series X or Playstation 5

This card is a dud
REALLY good point, I forgot, let me add that to the conclusion. Edit: added

Just checking my phone news stories. First up, YouTube review of this card, laughably bad at $400. Hardware unboxed.

Checks out. Got to bin the badge Wiz.

In other news, 4090 now available in UK for sub 1500.

This sucker is going down...

I see so many people typing "it should be" .. unfortunately "it is", and it is $400 because AMD has nothing and people will still buy it at that price. If that changes NVIDIA will lower the price

Dude..

It's >20% cheaper while not being made hostage from lack of VRAM on 2023 and later videogames.

This card isn't that bad. I know people that just happily bought 3060's for 400 dollars a few months ago..

If you are sad about GPU prices, just remember that we were dealing with a chips shortage not too long ago. It's not all just nVidia and AMD trying to rip off you off. If you want a good deal on a GPU then either wait until Q4 2024 or just buy a used one.

My issue with this card isn't so much the performance in a vacuum it's decent 1080p card and will likely be ok at 1440p with DLSS2 the disappointing part is how much the 400 usd price point has stagnated vs the previous generation. Regardless an 8GB GPU at 400 usd is just a bad buy in 2023 it might be ok now but it will have 0 legs so if you do buy this plan on needing to grab a 5060ti in 2 years ish.

Awesome in depth review as always and while the Highly recommended award doesn't really bother me it did make be chuckle a bit.

On SOME markets, where RDNA 2 hasn't seen the sales it has on US or EU, this might make more sense. If it arrives at close to MSRP, I can see it selling well* in Brazil, for example.

* It will sell like hotcakes anyway because it's Nvidia, but maybe it will have some justification this time.

Well, I've been using the same performance/price GPU for two years now, it's even using the same 160W undervolted to 0.875v. What a joke of a launch. Should have been a 4060 at max. $329.

I wish I had a badge that says "it's a good product, but the pricing is too high". Any ideas?

Should have been a 4060 at max. $329.
Should have been $199, it's a tiny GPU, with a super simple PCB and VRM. But it's not
