It's >20% cheaper while not being made hostage from lack of VRAM on 2023 and later videogames.

you need to understand, W1zz goes by MSRP's, as do many other professional sites. they have to have base lines, they don't have time to check sale prices in every country and compare and contrast. this is very common, not just w1zz does this.

that being said, yes, this is the better deal if you are in the market for a card, but some people will still prefer the ultimate power efficiency of 4060 ti / nvidia ecosystem, so the recommended award is still warranted for that. too many of you are reading into the award system a bit much. its a simply guideline, thats all the award system is for.

No, I look up actual marketing pricing at time of review. I specifically don't look at MSRPs because these are dumb. What matters is pricing today

It seems Nvidia really wants me to feel good about buying my 6750xt for $369 6 months ago.

I simply can't recommend an 8 GB card with this performance and this price tag. There are to many drawbacks with only 8 Gb, and it does not really matter if Devs screw up a port from XBox or Playstation or just badly optimize. In the end the raw performance is what matters and if I get stuttering and bad frame times it is not worth it for me.

In the US market I would go for 67xx for around $300 and in the EU you have to look out for good 6700XT (~€350) deals and since some days you can grab a 6800 non XT for around €470.

It is totally a shame that we had 8 GB midrange cards for €230 back in 2016 (!) and nowadays, they want to upsell another 8 gigs for 100 bucks? They get that so dirt cheap with the volume contracts......

I'll take your bet, how much?

But no DLSS 3, a bit higher fan noise, slightly worse efficiency. How much would you pay for that? $50?
I usually go for efficiency. DLSS3... I guess it's worth it, but I don't understand exactly how it works (does it require at least 60fps to work properly?).

You yourself said this would have made more sense at $350. Here's hoping it rots on the shelves till it reaches that price.

DLSS3 Increases latency so for it to be useful to me you have to already be in the 70-90fps range unless Nvidia somehow finds a way to overcome this. Also at lower fps the artifacts are way more noticeable.

you just focus on USA then I am guessing? i don't think anyone would have time to compare and contrast every country in the world, and this site is used by many in the world

Correct. I only use US pricing, but from various sources like Neweg, Amazon, eBay. No way to cover all countries, and yes, there's big differences but completely impossible to cover multiple markets

It doesn't help enough vs just using reflex at the original fps latency still goes up. Don't get me wrong I really like DLSS3 and hope it improves but it still not a feature worth buying a card for.

i reckon the x8 interface on 4060ti would make it slower than 3060ti, when used on a PCIe gen3 motherboard

also these dlss3 results are awful

Yawn.... Another pointless product.

Not really sure why it exists,
Rasterization is similar to the much cheaper 2 year old AMD 6700XT. Ray Tracing is pointless on this card as using it makes games unplayable due to low frame rates and DLSS is no more exciting than FSR.

Site no longer exists, Jon  went to Corsair to make actual money in the industry and life a good life
Yeah I know it died a couple of years after OklahomaWolf stopped reviewing, but it was the go to site for a very long time and there were times when I read reviews even if I had no interest in the particular product.

Yeah it still goes up. But I think without DLSS 3 only VERY few titles would have Reflex

I really can't stand the look of DLSS 2 / FSR 2, because I hate the low-res artifacts but a huge fan of DLSS 3 because it is not upscaling

also these dlss3 results are awful

@W1zzard

Is Physx still on these newer cards like the 4060 ti? Like if you go play the Batman games from Arkane company, they always had a "Physx" toggle, and it looked pretty neat in game, papers flying around like there was actual physics, etc.

It would be interesting to see how much a 4060 ti allowed for physx in those games. I remember trying to play those games with physx on, but it crippled the fps, funny to think that with cards of this generation, you could turn on physx and have that nicer experience now and no fps dips. I personlly like Physx more than ray tracing, shame Nvidia seems to have abandoned its push in newer games. TressFX never amounted to anything, just AMD copying Nvidia, putting it in a couple Tomb Raider games, then abandoning it... and it wasn't even done that well in the Tomb Raider games.

Funny thing is that, in the absence of better choices, this utterly awful product can became a "best buy". :)
Maybe I'm wrong but, in my garden, the shortage of good options doesn't magically morph the bad into good, the only things that come to reality is the existence of bad options.

Choosing between the worst and the least worst is never advised, instead, perhaps, the only choice is to abstain from the choice altogether.

It should. It's definitely supported on the other Ampere cards, not sure why it's unchecked in the GPU-Z screenshots. Will wait for final release drivers before investigating

The problem is the D.L.S.S 3 isn't just a feature for this card, its basically a necessary thing to use for it to be useable. Possible for its fore seeable future. Especially if you keep the card for more that 2 years, with its lack of Vram.
It's like how many RX 580 are still around out there, because they're using F.S.R.

When it becomes dependent on a feature it's no longer a "feature", it's a crutch for the card.

"No doubt, you can find edge cases where 8 GB will not be enough, but for thousands of games it will be a complete non-issue, and I think it's not unreasonable for buyers in this price-sensitive segment to set textures to High instead of Ultra, for two or three titles"

This pretty much sums up the card for me. Has great power consumption too.

This is why you're at the top W1z reviewing and we are commenting.

Keep up the good work : )
