I mean, the mod was non-existant. I just used the best prices around and a black friday sale. Oh. For that price, I also got a monitor (yet a bit small for my tastes: 15" LCD monitor) and an all in one canon mp450 printer. Anyone want to buy them off me? hahaha I know my mod sucks, but I think I have the best performance/dollar ratio out there.

yeah, i waited until i got all my checks back and deposited before i posted this. That's why I waited so long since Thanksgiving to post. Clearly, "rush" is not in their vocabulary at the rebate places. Oh well.

Very nice... can you explain to us more about how you got this deal? What's a black friday? Did you find it local or on the internet? Good job however you did it :)

nice

please don't remind me of how ugly the insides of pre-built computers, especially those from emachines can be. i hate the look of ribbon IDE cables. but the specs of your system look good. nicely done on the resourceful thinking and some smart shopping you did. that's what black friday is made for!

I know, tell me about it. I'm thinking about taking the insides from this computer and putting it in a REAL case and upgrading to rounded cables all around, but of course, the cost would increase. We'll see...

Your FSB on your CPU is wrong, its supposed to be set @ 200 not 199, Athlon 3200+ = 200FSB with a 10 multiplier just go into your bios and set her to 200, 3D mark says yours is @ 199.

mines an 11 multiplier cuz its a stupid NewCastle :[

I wouldn't do it. That will spoil the entire point! Just keep it under you desk where you can't see it and let the performance do all the talking, not the looks.

That is an awsome score, thumbs up. I yet to see what my 300$ rig can score in 3DMark05 the specs are listed below-

p4 2.8 LGA775 @ 3.6 on air with Vcore of 1.4 WOW and it was free
X1600pro 550/603 111$
1gb (2x512) DDR2 533 79$
ASUS P5LD2 118$
And every thing else to build a computer was free, to tired to name them.
but yeah i dought it could do as good as yurs nice job!!!

i still think i might get rounded cables at least to improve air flow or maybe i will just do a good tuck job. :-)

Rounded cables are not too hard to make. It can be easily done with a few zip ties. Try to find a guide for making them on the internet somewhere.
