The Fire GL4 was an enthusiast-class professional graphics card by ATI, launched on March 14th, 2001. Built on the 180 nm process, and based on the RC1000 graphics processor, the card supports DirectX 6.0. Since Fire GL4 does not support DirectX 11 or DirectX 12, it might not be able to run all the latest games. The RC1000 graphics processor is an average sized chip with a die area of 156 mm². It features 2 pixel shaders and 1 vertex shader 4 texture mapping units, and 1 ROP. Due to the lack of unified shaders you will not be able to run recent games at all (which require unified shader/DX10+ support). ATI has paired 128 MB DDR memory with the Fire GL4, which are connected using a 256-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 150 MHz, memory is running at 150 MHz. Being a single-slot card, the ATI Fire GL4 does not require any additional power connector, its power draw is not exactly known. Display outputs include: 2x DVI, 1x S-Video. Fire GL4 is connected to the rest of the system using an AGP Pro 8x interface. Its price at launch was 1999 US Dollars.
