The Radeon Pro W6600X is an enthusiast-class professional graphics card by AMD, launched on August 3rd, 2021. Built on the 7 nm process, and based on the Navi 23 graphics processor, the card supports DirectX 12 Ultimate. The Navi 23 graphics processor is an average sized chip with a die area of 237 mm² and 11,060 million transistors. It features 2048 shading units, 128 texture mapping units, and 64 ROPs. The card also has 32 raytracing acceleration cores. AMD has paired 8 GB GDDR6 memory with the Radeon Pro W6600X, which are connected using a 128-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 2068 MHz, which can be boosted up to 2479 MHz, memory is running at 2000 MHz (16 Gbps effective).
The AMD Radeon Pro W6600X uses Apple's MPX form factor, which is a proprietary interface design that combines a traditional PCI-Express x16 slot with a second custom-Apple connector, to provide additional data bandwidth and power delivery capability. The MPX slot is backwards compatible with classic PCI-Express x16 cards, which may be installed in the PCIe slot part of MPX. Separate power cables are not required, power draw is rated at 120 W maximum. This device has no display connectivity, as it is not designed to have monitors connected to it. Its price at launch was 699 US Dollars.
