ASUS Motherboards Ready For Next-Generation Intel 1333FSB Core2 Extreme/Core2 Duo Pro

Taipei, Taiwan, July 16, 2007 - ASUS, the worldwide leader of motherboards, today announced the motherboards that will support Intel's latest Core2 Extreme/Core2 Duo 1333FSB processors. "As the leading motherboard manufacturer, our customers have come to expect the latest solutions from us," said Joe Hsieh, Director of ASUS Motherboard Business. "Our series of Core2 Extreme/Core2 Duo 1333FSB-ready motherboards once again proves our leadership position for the newest and most advanced processors."

Intel Announces New Desktop And Extreme Mobile CPUs

Intel today announced the Core 2 Extreme X7800, its first laptop CPU under the Extreme Edition brand. In addition to bringing its "Extreme" high-end CPU brand to laptops, Intel also announced a handful of new desktop dual and quad chips today.
The X7800 dual-core mobile processor runs at 2.6 GHz and features 4MB of L2 cache and an 800MHz front-side bus thus making it the fastest CPU in Intel's mobile lineup. The good news for gamers is that the overspeed protection has been removed so the overclocking potential of the cpu should be enormous.

Intel accelerates introduction of 1333 FSB CPUs

In order for Intel to speed up the introduction of 1333MHz front-side bus CPUs and boost Intel 3-series desktop chipset (Bearlake) sales, Intel plans to suspend production of five 1066MHz FSB Core 2 Duo CPUs by late 2007, according to sources at motherboard makers.

Intel will suspend landing orders for five 1066MHz FSB CPUs, including E6600, E6700, E6300, E6320 and E6420, by late 2007. Final delivery schedule is set as the first quarter of 2008, the sources detailed.

ASUS Releases 1333MHz FSB BIOS Updates

ASUS has just released new BIOS updates that enable 1333MHz front side bus(FSB) support for all of its motherboards based on Intel 965 chipset. ASUS 965 motherboards need simple BIOS tweaking to support Intel's next generation 1333FSB Conroe E0 CPUs. New BIOSes are available for ASUS P5B Deluxe / P5B Deluxe/WiFi-AP Release BIOS 1004, ASUS P5B Release BIOS 1007, ASUS P5B-E Release BIOS 0904, ASUS Commando Release BIOS 0801 (BETA!). New GIGABYTE v3.3 Boards to Support 1333MHz FSB

GIGABYTE will be launching their new revision 3.3 boards end of January and it is the first in the industry to deliver native 1333FSB support on 965P series. It will be able to support the next generation 1333FSB E6x50 Core 2 Duo processors like E6850 (3.0GHz), E6750 (2.66GHz), E6550 (2.33GHz) coming out in Q3 this year. The keyword here is "Future Proof". GIGABYTE claims a CPU performance jumps up to 5% comparing with FSB1066 and boost a 10% enhancement for Memory performance.
