Akasa Launches Turing ABX and Newton A50 Fanless Cases for Mini-PCs

Akasa, manufacturer of cooling solutions and computer cases, today updated two of its fanless compact cases designed to replace actively-cooled systems of mini-PCs. For starters, the new Akasa Turing ABX is a next-generation compact fanless case for GIGABYTE AMD Ryzen BRIX 4000U-Series Mini-PC with Radeon GPU. The Turing ABX case is compatible with the following GIGABYTE Ryzen BRIX models: GB-BRR3-4300, GB-BRR5-4500, GB-BRR7-4700, and GB-BRR7-480. It brings out all of the I/O ports that come standard with these BRIX models; however, the cooling system is replaced with Akasa's fanless design integrated within the case.

And last but not least, Akasa also launched Newton A50 fanless case for ASUS PN51 and PN50 mini-PCs. Coming in with a 1.3-liter design, this case represents a very compact solution capable of carrying 5000 and 4000 Series AMD Ryzen processors and Radeon Vega 7 Graphics. As far as I/O options, the case brings everything that ASUS PN51 and PN50 PCs have to offer; however, the cooling system is also replaced by Akasa's fanless design. Akasa Announces Alucia H4 CPU Tower Cooler

Akasa, has released a brand new tower cooler to add to its premium line-up. The Alucia H4 is made up of a sleek, all-black heatsink and a high performance 120 mm fan with enough cooling power to tame CPUs with a 185 W TDP, such as Intel's Core i7 12700 at Turbo Power, or AMD Ryzen 9 5950X. The Alucia H4 heatsink features a eccentricity design, which is a mounting mechanism which allows for different heights of RAM clearance. Simply adjust the clips attached to the fan and mount the fan above any RAM modules. Work or play, bring on the heat with the Alucia H4 - with a maximum 185 W TDP, this premium cooler can be used with the vast majority of high-end CPUs!

The heatsink has four copper heatpipes with Direct Contact technology, which provides a high level of heat dissipation. Compatibility is not an issue, with the mounting kit included with the cooler, which can fit LGA2066/2011/1156/1155/1151/1150/1200 and AM4, and a future update is planned for LGA1700. Akasa's premium T5 Pro-Grade Plus thermal paste is also included in the package, allowing the best heat dissipation possible from the CPU.

Akasa, has announced they will be releasing an updated set of CPU coolers compatible with Intel's newest mounting system, LGA1700. The new line of coolers will follow Intel's official thermal and mechanical design guide and improves heat dissipation from the Alder Lake processors.

The 12th generation of Intel Core processors will be using this LGA1700 mounting system, launching with a host of technological advances. Intel's new hybrid core design allows for efficient data processing, with the introduction of Performance and Efficiency cores (P-cores and E-cores respectively). P-cores are dedicated to the faster processing tasks, whilst Ecores have been built to work through background processes, therefore increasing the multitasking capabilities of the CPU. Due to the new sizes of these cores, the shape of the CPU's integrated heatspreader (IHS) has changed to accommodate this, with its rectangular dimensions of 37.5 mm x 45 mm.

Akasa Intros AK-PCCE25-02 2.5GbE Adapter Capable of 25W PoE

Akasa has been into client networking products lately, with its recent low-profile 2.5 GbE adapter. The company's latest product in the category is the AK-PCCE25-02. This card provides 2.5 Gbps wired Ethernet connectivity, along with 25.5 Watts of Power-over-Ethernet (PoE), which should power equipment such as repeaters or cameras. It features all power switching components on board, and relies on a SATA power input for this purpose, and doesn't load the PCIe slot for PoE. Without the SATA power input, the PoE function is disabled, and it works like any other 2.5 GbE adapter. The card remains half-height, and a low-profile bracket is included. The company didn't reveal pricing.

Akasa Launches Fan Sets with 3-packs

Akasa, a leading provider of active cooling and lighting solutions, has announced the three new fan bundles available for purchase. These fan packs are perfect for all applications, from high performance, low noise PC builds (Viper), a premium aesthetic with bright and vivid aRGB lighting (SOHO), or home theatre PC or compact, small form factor builds (Slim Fan). Akasa Launches Low Profile 2.5 Gbps PCIe Network Card

With 2.5 Gbps Ethernet gaining popularity, we're seeing more and more companies launching 2.5 Gbps products and Akasa is the latest to join the fray. Although there's nothing really unique about this 2.5 Gbps card, it is the lowest profile card we've seen so far, which might make it suitable for certain builds where a regular card wouldn't fit.

The awkwardly named AK-PCCE25-01 features a Realtek Ethernet controller, although we can't quite make out which one, but it's one of the RTL8125 variants. The card comes with a full-height and half-height bracket and drivers for Windows 7 through 10, as well as Linux are provided. Retail pricing seems to be around US$31.95/£27.98/€29.90, which is in line with the competition, or somewhat cheaper.

Akasa Intros the 16 mm-tall KS7 Ultra Low-Profile CPU Cooler

Akasa today introduced the KS7, an extremely compact CPU fan-heatsink for builds where thickness standards begin to rival portable desktops. With a today height (fan+heatsink) of just 16 mm, the KS7 is designed for Sockets LGA1200 and LGA115x, and its designers claim that the cooler can keep a 35 W TDP processor, such as the Core i9-10900T, afloat. It's design is straightforward: an aluminium mono-block heatsink has a 64 mm fan nestled within, and exhausts radially. The fan takes in 4-pin PWM input, spins between 2,200 to 4,000 RPM, pushing up to 24.61 CFM of airflow at 3.76 mm H₂O static pressure. At top speed, its noise output is rated at 32.8 dBA. Its EBR bearing is rated for 40,000 hours lifespan. measuring 85 mm x 85 mm x 16 mm, the cooler weighs about 105 g. The company didn't reveal pricing.

Akasa, a leading provider of passively cooled computer cases and accessories, has released two new fanless cases to the Newton and Plato line-up. These cases are compatible with Intel's 8th generation of Board Element motherboards, and Compute Element products, the latest technology with the potential to change everything we know about computing.

Akasa Releases Turing A50 Fanless Chassis for ASUS PN50

Akasa, a global leader in fanless technology, has extended their Turing fanless chassis design series by releasing the new Turing A50. Akasa Rolls Out Turing QLX Fanless Case for Intel NUC 9 Pro

Akasa today rolled out the Turing QLX, a fanless case for the Intel NUC 9 Pro "Quartz Canyon" desktop platform that consists of an Intel NUC 9 Pro Compute Element, and a PCIe backplane. This form-factor is essentially a modern re-imagining of the SBC+backplane desktops from the i486 era. The Turing QLX case is made almost entirely of anodized aluminium, and its body doubles up as a heatsink for the 9th Gen Core or Xeon SoC. You're supposed to replace the cooling assembly of your NUC 9 Pro Compute Element with the cold-plate + heat-pipe assembly of the case. NUC 9 Pro series SBCs compatible with the Turing QLX include the BXNUC9i9QNB, BXNUC9i7QNB, BXNUC9i5QNB, BKNUC9VXQNB, and the BKNUC9V7QNB. The case doesn't include a power supply, you're supposed to use a compatible power brick with the SBC+backplane combo. The Turing QLX measures 212 mm x 150 mm x 220 mm (DxWxH). The company didn't reveal pricing.

Akasa Rolls Out Turing A50 Case for ASUS PN50 Ryzen 4000-powered Mini PC

Akasa ended the year with the release of the Turing A50, a fanless all-aluminium case with which you can replace the case that comes with the ASUS PN50 mini-PC. The ASUS PN50, if you recall, is a NUC-sized mini-PC that uses 15-Watt AMD Ryzen 4000-series "Renoir" mobile processors. The Akasa Turing A50 is a variation of the original Turing NUC case the company released back in February 2019, but with its innards re-designed for the ASUS PN50 mainboard. On the front side, you get mounts for the board's headset jack, two USB 3.2 ports (from which one is type-C and has DisplayPort passthrough), and the IR receiver. The rear has mounts for the three other display outputs, and a couple more USB ports, and the DC power input. Internally, the case features an SoC cooler base designed to mount onto the "Renoir" SoC, from which a few copper heat-pipes convey heat to the case's aluminium body, which doubles up as a heatsink. Fanless Tech reports that the case should be available from February 2021.

Akasa Maxwell Pro Fanless Mini-ITX Chassis Supports 10th Gen Intel Core i9 Processors

High-end processors such as the Intel Core i9-10900 usually requires a hefty cooler, usually equipped with high-speed fans, but Akasa's new Maxwell Pro fanless Mini-ITX case can tame the beast, all whilst producing nothing but silence. The Comet Lake Core i9 comes with ten cores and twenty threads; and a max turbo frequency of 5.2 GHz, making it one of the most powerful processors on the market. Our tests have shown its impressive benchmark scores whilst being passively cooled in the Maxwell Pro, making it perfect for assisting the processor in activities such as content creation and 4K video. The case is a high-performance fanless case that can handle up to 65 W TDP, and can adequately maintain temperatures around 80°C.

In Cinebench R20, a multi-core stress test program, we achieved exceptional multithreaded scores of 4010, with an average core frequency of 3.1 GHz. Temperatures averaged at a cool 78°C, and never went over 91°C. These results show the excellent cooling power of the passive case, able to tame the mighty Core i9 10900.

Akasa Launches the Gem - Passively Cooled Raspberry Pi 4 Case

Akasa, the maker of all kinds of cooling solutions, storage accessories, and cases, today launched a new type of case. Called the Gem, the case is a passively cooled design made for Raspberry Pi 4 in mind. Featuring a unique design that reminds of a gem, the case got its name from it. The case is made from 100% aluminium and its body is sturdy and provides efficient heat dissipation ensures the system runs optimally, even under a heavy workload. The case has an L shaped block that connects the parts that generate heat with an external shell. It covers the SoC and power management integrated circuit, which is a rare design decision. The other block is covering the USB controller. The case features precision cutouts so every bit of I/O is accessible including GPIO, microSD, Ethernet, USB, camera, and display connectors. You can purchase the case here for approximately $40.

Akasa Maxwell Pro Pictured: 65W TDP Fanless Case for both Intel and AMD

Here's the first picture of the Akasa Maxwell Pro fanless HTPC case. This Mini-ITX case features an all-aluminium construction, with diamond-cut edges on matte-gray anodized aluminium panels. The case's body doubles up as passive heatsink for the processor, and the Maxwell Pro is one of Akasa's first few cases to feature a common fanless block design that supports both AMD Socket AM4 and Intel LGA115x/LGA1200. The case extends into heatsink ridges along the sides, while a series of four copper heat pipes links it with a base at the CPU socket. Akasa claims the case is capable of handling CPU TDP of up to 65 W without any fans.

The front-panel features a brushed-aluminium finish, along with a handful USB ports and a power button, although we can't spy an IR receiver port. The case measures 280 mm x 209 mm x 110 mm (WxDxH). An optional 150 W power-brick is included, along with an internal DC-to-DC switch that converts the 2-pin DC input from the brick to various ATX standard connectors. The company didn't reveal availbility or pricing.

Akasa Rolls Out Vegas Chroma CPU Coolers with ARGB Lighting

Akasa rolled out the Vegas Chroma line of top-flow CPU coolers. The coolers come in two variants based on CPU socket types supported. The Vegas Chroma LG supports Intel LGA115x sockets, while the Vegas Chroma AM supports AMD sockets AM4 and AM3+. The cooler's design is an awful lot similar to Intel's stock HSF for desktop processors. An anodized aluminium heatsink with spirally-projecting fins, is ventilated by a 120 mm fan. Airflow from the heatsink ends up ventilating other components around the CPU socket, such as VRM heatsinks, M.2 heatsink, and possibly even memory.

The hydraulic bearing fan takes in 4-pin PWM for its main function, and 3-pin ARGB for the lighting. LEDs are embedded in the hub of the translucent white impeller. In both variants, the fan spins between 500 and 1,800 RPM, pushing up to 51.3 CFM of air, with a noise output of up to 32.5 dBA. Both variants measure 120 mm x 120 mm length and width; but differ in height. The LG variant is 59 mm tall, and the AM variant 63 mm. The LG variant weighs 380 g as it requires a back-plate, while the AM variant tips the scales at 340 g. The company didn't reveal pricing.

Akasa Rolls Out Cypher MX3 Thin Mini-ITX Case

Akasa today rolled out the Cypher MX3, a Thin Mini-ITX case for low-profile, fan-less desktop builds meant as digital signage boxes, thin clients, or low-power desktops that you tuck away behind your monitor. Measuring 208 mm x 203 mm x 45 mm (WxDxH), which amounts to a lunchbox-sized volume of just 2 liters, the Cypher MX3 features a SECC steel construction with a ventilated 3-sided panel covering the top and sides. Its front panel provides two each of USB 3.1 type-A, two USB 2.0/1.1, and HDA jacks. Besides the motherboard, there's room for a 2.5-inch drive inside. The case is designed for external power-bricks that plug in directly to the motherboard, which provides power for your SSD. Available now, the Akasa Cypher MX3 is priced at USD $59.

Akasa Presents Several New Aluminium-rich Cases

Akasa this Computex unveiled half a dozen new premium cases for congested desks and living rooms, which make use of copious amounts of aluminium to both look good and stay cool without any moving parts (read: fans). The Dot and Gem made us go "awww" first. The Dot looks like a Lego brick that spent too much time in Pripyat (although not as big as a real brick itself). It can house several models of Raspberry Pi, ASUS Tinker Board, and ODROID-C2, which are ARM-based "makerboards." You also get an included SD card reader, and room for a Hi-Fi Berry DAC board to go with your Pi. The Gem has a nearly identical design, but with an eclectic top plate design.

The Skytale and Skytale-X, obviously so-named to catch PC enthusiasts' eyes as they passed by the booth, are sleek, silvery-aluminium HTPC cases with a monolithic design (as opposed to heatsink ridges sticking out of the sides). With a height of just 50 mm, both cases are designed for mini-ITX motherboards that needn't be thin. What sets the two apart is the presence of a full-height add-on card slot on the Skytale-X, which uses a PCIe riser. Lastly, we spotted a new variant of the Turing case Akasa launched in February, which comes in a racy shade of blue.

Akasa Turing is an Art Deco Fanless "Bean Canyon" NUC Case

Akasa Turing is the company's latest fanless cases for Intel "Bean Canyon" NUC family, which embeds 8th generation Core "Coffee Lake" processors. Designed for living rooms or corner offices, the Turing is a carbon-black monolith with its aluminium body doubling up as heatsink for the processor. Fins and ridges of the body panel curve in an almost Art Deco style. You can either orient the case vertically, or sideways. The case can handle SoCs with TDP of up to 28 W without needing fans. Front panel connectivity includes a pair of USB 3.1 type-A, an IR receiver, and headset jack, while the rear panel is designed for most "Bean Canyon" boards. Akasa will reveal pricing very soon.

Akasa Vegas RAM Mate is a Trident Z-lookalike for your Non-RGB Memory Modules

Akasa unveiled the Vegas RAM Mate, the company's entry to the lucrative RGB memory heatspreader market. Borrowing a lot of design ideas from G.Skill's Trident-Z series, this heatspreader consists of two brushed aluminium plates that sandwich a silicone RGB LED diffuser at the top, with eight diodes. The RGB setup supports both 4-pin RGB and 3-pin addressable-RGB connectors. The heatspreader itself supports both VLP 18.3~18.7 mm-tall, and standard 30 mm-tall memory modules, which could be anything DDR1-thru-DDR4, as long as it's standard width (and not SO-DIMM). Akasa appears to be selling these in single-unit quantities, as opposed to some other companies selling their products in 2-piece kits. We expect it to be priced around USD $20-25.
