ASUS Announces TUF Gaming VG28UQL1A Monitor

ASUS today announced the availability of TUF Gaming VG28UQL1A, a gaming monitor designed for PC and next-generation consoles. This 28 inch display has a Fast IPS panel and supports up to 4K 144 Hz gaming with a 1 ms gray to gray (GTG) response time as well as Display Stream Compression (DSC) technology, and it offers native 4K 120 Hz gaming without chroma subsampling on the latest consoles via HDMI 2.1. Compatible with NVIDIA G-SYNC, it also supports AMD FreeSync Premium and ASUS Extreme Low Motion Blur Sync (ELMB Sync) to eliminate smearing and motion blur for fluid and responsive gameplay. In addition, ASUS Variable Overdrive technology ensures consistently smooth visuals at variable frame rates.

TUF VG28UQL1A has an HDMI 2.1 port that enables native 4K 120 Hz visuals (4:4:4) when playing on the latest gaming consoles. An Auto-Low-Latency mode helps reduce input lag to ensure extremely fluid gameplay, and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) technology prevents tearing and stuttering for a completely immersive next-gen console gaming experience. TechPowerUp GPU-Z v2.41.0 Released

TechPowerUp today released the latest version of TechPowerUp GPU-Z, the popular graphics subsystem, information, monitoring, and diagnostic utility. The latest Version 2.41.0 comes with support for the Windows 11 operating system (ongoing pre-release builds), including the ability to tell if the graphics driver conforms to WDDM 3.0 standard. Support is also added for current and upcoming GPUs, including Radeon RX 6600 XT, Radeon PRO W6800, W6600; NVIDIA CMP 90HX, 50HX, 40HX, 30H; and RTX 3050 Laptop GPUs based on GA107-B.

TechPowerUp GPU-Z v2.41.0 also improves on several fronts. We've improved the TMU count estimation algorithm for unknown (upcoming) NVIDIA GPUs, as well as clock speed detection on AMD RDNA2-based Radeon PRO GPUs. The GPU-Z installer now adds version number of the installed GPU-Z to the Control Panel Add/Remove Programs list, to better work with Winget, the new Microsoft package manager. AMD "Navi" rated clocks will now always be shown in Advanced Panel, even if the reported clocks are 0. A "BIOS reading not supported" error with certain laptops that have NVIDIA discrete GPUs, has been fixed. The ASUS ROG-branded GPU-Z has some UI touch-ups. ASUS & Noctua Reportedly Developing RTX 3070 Graphics Card

ASUS appears to be working with Noctua to release an RTX 3070 graphics card with a custom cooler developed by the company. ASUS has partnered with other companies such as EK to release similar graphics cards with integrated water blocks in the past so this collaboration would seem possible. We have seen ASUS register a new model 'RTX3070-8G-NOCTUA' with the Eurasian Economic Commission however, more information on the upcoming product is sparse with details regarding what specific cooling system will be used and if other models will be released are currently unknown. ASUS replied to an email inquiry about the product saying they were unable to comment but that they would hopefully be able to announce something soon which lends considerable weight to these rumors. We have seen several renders and mods over the years of Noctua themed graphics cards one of which is included below in absence of any pictures or drawings of this card.

ASUS TUF Gaming Introduces the VG32AQL1A Monitor: 32" Fast IPS, QHD, 170 Hz, DisplayHDR 400

ASUS today via its TUF Gaming brand introduced the VG32AQL1A monitor, which is sure to tick a lot of boxes for many people looking for a gaming monitor. The 32" diagonal may put some off due to the typical distance users sit away from the monitor. The 2560 x 1440 Fast IPS panel features a 1 ms response time and 170 Hz refresh rate - as well as support for FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA's G-Sync Compatible program. In addition to the fast response time and refresh rates, the ASUS TUF Gaming VG32AQL1A also features ELMB sync (for black frame insertion and motion blur reduction) as well as a smart, "variable overdrive" setting that dynamically changes monitor overdrive values according to the current frame rate so as to further reduce motion blur.

ASUS Introduces RTX 3080 Ti ROG Strix LC Hybrid-Cooled Graphics Cards

ASUS today has extended their hybrid-cooling technology to NVIDIA's top-tier graphics cards by officially listing ROG Strix LC versions of NVIDIA's RTX 3080 Ti to market availability. Initially only offered in AMD's RX 6000-series lineup, the new cards from ASUS feature a hybrid cooling system and aggressive aesthetics. The cooling system in itself features a hybrid air and liquid cooling solution: a single fan in the graphics' card shroud is responsible for cooling the VRM subsystem and 2.5-slot aluminium heatsink, while the GA-102 chip at the heart of the RTX 3080 Ti is handed a more premium way of offloading heat via a watercooling solution - itself guaranteed by a 240 mm radiator and dual 120 mm fans. As is par for the course these days, there's an RGB bonanza in both the shroud and the radiator fans.

ASUS is introducing a vanilla, NVIDIA-reference clock version (the ROG Strix LC RTX3080Ti-12G Gaming, at 1,665 MHz) and an OC version (ROG Strix LC RTX3080Ti-O12G Gaming) which ups the reference clocks to 1,860 MHz. Both cards feature custom-engineered PCBs, and power delivery is handled by 3x 8-pin connectors. I/O is taken care of by 3x DisplayPort 1.4a and 2x HDMI 2.1 connectors. Expect pricing to completely disregard MSRP and to float according to market conditions - which while much improved in recent weeks, still carries the added chaff of months of mining and scalping demand.

ASUS and MSI Put out Windows 11 TPM 2.0 Compatible Motherboard and Processor Lists

ASUS and MSI have each put out lists of their motherboards and compatible processors that meet the Windows 11 requirement of a TPM 2.0 spec-compliant trusted platform module, without needing an add-on TPM. ASUS says that its motherboards dating back to the Intel 300-series, and AMD 300-series, and processors compatible with them, meet the requirement, which would mean Intel "Coffee Lake" and forward; and AMD "Zen" and forward. MSI, on the other hand, extends support all the way back to Intel 100-series (when paired with "Kaby Lake" or forward); and AMD 300-series ("Zen" and forward).

For HEDT platforms, both companies support TPM 2.0 on Intel X299, AMD X399, and AMD TRX40. Server- and workstation chipsets from processor generations corresponding to these platforms, will also support Windows 11. Intel and AMD began integrating a firmware TPM with these platforms that met TPM 2.0 specification. Older platforms will require an add-on TPM, which scalpers are selling for upward or $100 these days (normally under $20). The firmware TPM, although present, is usually disabled, and needs to be enabled in the UEFI setup program. In addition, the firmware must be configured for UEFI boot, with Secure Boot enabled, to meet Windows 11 requirements.

ASUS Announces ROG Strix XG43UQ Xbox Edition Monitor

ASUS today released the ROG Strix XG43UQ Xbox Edition, a large 43-inch monitor that's designed for competitive gameplay in the living room. The monitor comes with a native resolution of 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160 pixels), and is capable of 144 Hz refresh-rate, and has DisplayHDR 1000. ASUS worked with Microsoft to optimize the monitor for the Xbox Series X/S consoles, and packed the monitor with an "Xbox Mode," which optimizes it for Xbox gameplay. Other features that add to its gaming prowess include Extreme Low Motion Blur (ELMB) Sync, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, and 1 ms response time (MPRT). The VA panel features a matte anti-glare surface. Display inputs include DisplayPort 1.4, and two HDMI 2.1.

ASUS Intros the ROG Spatha X Wireless MMO Mouse

ASUS today released the Republic of Gamers (ROG) Spatha X gaming mouse. A successor to the original ROG Spatha from 2016, the Spatha X is a wireless mouse optimized for MMO gaming, with its 12 strategically positioned programmable buttons. Connectivity includes 2.4 GHz wireless, and USB 2.0 wired connections. The design of the Spatha X appears unchanged from the original. What's new is the updated 19,000 dpi sensor (compared to 8,200 dpi on the original), and updated ROG Micro switches that are rated for up to 70 million clicks (compared to 20 million clicks on the original). You get a magnetic charging dock that lets the mouse recharge when not in use. On a full charge, you can get up to 67 hours of gameplay off the mouse, with the RGB off. When it releases around June 24, the ROG Spatha is expected to be priced around $150.

Intel Iris Xe DG1 GPU from ASUS Tested

Intel has been working with its partners to release the Intel Iris Xe DG1 GPU for use in prebuilt computers. ASUS is one of these partners along with GUNNIR who have both announced versions of the card. The ASUS DG1 was the first of these cards to release as part of the "Gamer Xtreme Gaming Desktop" from CyberPowerPC in May. The ASUS DG1 found in that system has recently been tested by ETA PRIME in various games and synthetic benchmarks. The DG1 is only compatible with select motherboards so the card was tested with the Intel Core i5-11400F and ASUS PRIME H410M-A/CSM motherboard included in the computer.

The ASUS DG1 features 80 Execution Units for 640 shading units running at a speed of 1.5 GHz, along with 4 GB of LPDDR4X memory running at 4266 MHz. The card only draws 30 W so features a fully passive design with no additional power connectors. The ASUS DG1 scored 1630 points in the 3DMark Time Spy test, 5837 points in Fires Strike, and 21313 points in Night Raid. The card was also tested in a variety of games including Forza Horizon 4, Injustice, Overwatch where it managed 1080p low 60 FPS performance. These performance numbers are comparable to a Radeon HD 7870 or a GTX 760 while drawing significantly less power. You can view the complete video from ETA PRIME testing the card below.

ASUS Launches GeForce RTX 3070 LHR Series

ASUS has updated their RTX 3070 lineup with the new LHR (Lite Hash Rate) branding from NVIDIA as they switch to using the new boards. ASUS has followed NVIDIA's guidelines for advertising LHR models exactly with the new cards feature a different model number, updated prominent information on product pages and LHR branding on the packaging. ASUS has released a total of seven new models in the RTX 3070 LHR series which will replace existing models. ASUS has also updated their website with RTX 3060 LHR models however the RTX 3080 and RTX 3060 Ti are yet to be updated with these new revisions. The specifications of the cards remain identical apart from the hash rate reduction and are simply rebadges to meet NVIDIA requirements.

EK Launches Quantum Vector TUF RX 3070 Water Block

EK, is ready to offer its premium high-performance GPU water block for ASUS TUF editions of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series graphics cards. This new water block is named EK-Quantum Vector TUF RTX 3070 D-RGB and is exclusively engineered for ASUS TUF RTX 3070 GPUs. This water block is 255 mm long and 149 mm tall and cools all key components on the GPU's printed circuit board. The EK-Quantum Vector TUF RTX 3070 is compatible with ASUS TUF RTX 3070 graphics cards. This Vector water block actively cools the GPU, top-facing VRAM, power stages, and chokes in the VRM section. The newly developed TUF water blocks feature clean, optimized flow paths that reduce hydrodynamic instabilities and vortexing (dead spots) inside of them.

ASUS Intros ROG Strix GS-AX5400 Gaming Router

ASUS today rolled out the ROG Strix GS-AX5400, a dual-band Wi-Fi router optimized for online gaming. The 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) router offers a combined bandwidth of up to 5,400 Mbps, with 160 MHz channels. It has in-built logic to prioritize game traffic and reduce latencies. The VPN Fusion feature lets you simultaneously use a VPN and normal connection, so only specific apps use VPN, or specific apps use direct connection. This should come handy for gamers, as network traffic from games could use direct Internet for low latencies, while everything else is routed through your VPN service for anonymity.

Both the WAN upstream and four downstream LAN Ethernet ports are 1 GbE. The latest Wi-Fi protection standards are supported. Under the hood, is a triple-core processor with 512 MB of memory. The router's body features an RGB lighting element that can be controlled through the router setup page, or even synchronized over Aura. The company hasn't revealed prices, but we expect this to be one of ASUS's more affordable gaming-grade routers.

ASUS Announces GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti ROG Strix (LC) and TUF Graphics Cards

ASUS Teases Four Upcoming X570 Motherboards with Fanless Chipset Cooling

ASUS teased what is possibly its final round of Socket AM4 motherboards based on the AMD X570 chipset. The boards are based on the X570 chipset with the latest AGESA update that runs the chipset cooler, so thay can made do with fanless heatsink cooling. The teaser pic reveals at least four models—one based in the coveted ProArt line of creator motherboards; one from the TUF Gaming line of value-ended gaming motherboards; one form the ROG Strix series of premium gaming motherboards; and the last from the ROG Crosshair series of enthusiast/overclocking motherboards.

The motherboard in the bottom-right quadrant isn't the Crosshair VIII Dark Hero, but very likely a next-gen Crosshair Formula product. The bottom-left board could be a successor to the ROG Strix X570-E Gaming. The top-right board could be a TUF Gaming X570 Pro successor; while the top-left could be an all new product based in the ProArt series.

Update May 31st: ASUS clarified in a Facebook post that these motherboards use the same X570 chipset, but take advantage of the latest AGESA firmware that lowers TDP of the chipset just enough for motherboard designers to use fanless heatsinks.

XPG to Launch New DDR5 Gaming Memory Modules in Third Quarter of 2021

XPG, a fast-growing provider of systems, components, and peripherals for Gamers, Esports Pros, and Tech Enthusiasts, today announces that it will launch its new DDR5 gaming memory modules in Q3 2021. Intel Announced 5G-ready Additions to its 11th Gen Core Processors

Today at Computex 2021, Intel announced two new additions to the lineup of 11th Gen Intel Core processors. These new processors, combined with Intel's co-engineering work with independent software vendors (ISVs) and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), continue Intel's leadership in mobile compute—delivering the world's best processors for thin-and-light Windows-based laptops. The brand new Vector Active Backplate directly cools all PCB hotspots found on the backside of the GPU core and VRM (voltage regulation module). In the case of Strix RTX 3090, the VRAM located on the backside is being cooled, while the PCB on RTX 3080 GPUs is being cooled around the front-mounted VRAM. Cooling liquid is channeled over all these critical areas.

ASUS Announces a Trio of ProArt Professional Displays: PA279CV, PA278CV, and PA247CV

ASUS today announced the availability of ProArt Display PA279CV, PA278CV, and PA247CV. The three new factory-calibrated monitors are Calman Verified and offer Delta E 2 color accuracy with 100% sRGB and 100% Rec.709 color spaces.
