Buffalo Japan announced a pair of new portable hard drive models, the HD-PA2.0TU3 and the HD-PZ2.0U3-BC (pictured in that order, below). Both drives come in capacities of 2 TB, and take advantage of USB 3.0 SuperSpeed interface, with a single cable handling both power and host connectivity, but the HD-PA2.0TU3 additionally also features Thunderbolt. While the former measures 81 mm x 130 mm x 23 mm (WxDxH), featuring a combination of USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt connectivity; the latter measures 89 mm x 128 mm x 18 mm, features just USB 3.0, but offers a silicone based inner housing, which offers shock resistance that makes it meet 516.5 Procedure IV MIL-STD-810F requirements. Both are expected to be generally available around mid-July.

Buffalo Technology, a global leader in the design, development and manufacturing of storage and wireless networking solutions, today extends its portable hard drive offering with MiniStation Air 2 (HDW-PDU3 series). Buffalo announced a unique new external HDD, which it claims is the world's fastest. No, it doesn't embed an SSD, but a host-agnostic hot-data juggling system between a conventional hard drive (capacities of 500 GB and 1 TB), and 1 GB of DDR3 DRAM cache. As the drive powers up, frequently accessed data (hot-data), is copied onto the fast DRAM cache. As access frequencies of data on the HDD rise, they're juggled onto the cache.

An in-built lithium-ion battery ensures that there's no data loss when data is being juggled to and from the cache due to an abrupt disconnection; and it also ensures that hot-data stays on the DRAM for a few hours, even with the drive disconnected. An LED battery level meter keeps you updated on battery life. The battery recharges each time the drive is plugged in to the host. The drive uses USB 3.0 SuperSpeed interface, although there's no mention of UASP support. Under real-world circumstances, the DRAM-cached drive offers transfer rates of up to 400 MB/s. Measuring 81 mm x 18 mm x 133 mm (WxDxH), the drives weigh in at about 250 g.

Buffalo Inc. today announced the RUF3-PS Series, a new family of flash drives that feature USB 3.0 connectivity and a minuscule body that sticks out only 5.2 mm while plugged in. Buffalo's drives come in three color versions - silver, black and red, and offer transfer speeds of up to 121 MB/s.

The RUF3-PS Series will be available at first in Japan, at the end of this month, in 8 GB, 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB capacities. Prices go from 2,100 yen (~ 21 USD) to 8,900 yen (~ 87 USD).

Buffalo announced the HD-LLU3 line of external hard drives. Built in the familiar Buffalo chassis measuring 39 mm x 187 mm x 120 mm (WxDxH), and weighing in at 1 kg, these drives are available in glossy white and black color options; and capacities of 1 TB, 2 TB, 3 TB, and 4 TB. They use a single USB 3.0 SuperSpeed connection for both power and host-connectivity. A striking feature is the "Easy Lock" function, which password-locks data even when you yank the cable to disconnect. The drives are slated for late April, and should start at 13,600¥ (US $130).

Buffalo today unveiled its newest external storage solution, the Mini Station HD-PLFU3 Series. Coming in black and white, these portable drives feature USB 3.0 connectivity, they measure 115 x 76 mm, and offer 500 GB (11.5 mm height), 1 TB (14 mm) and 2 TB (19.5 mm) worth of space.

Everspin Technologies today announced that Buffalo Memory is introducing a new industrial SATA III SSD that incorporates Everspin's Spin-Torque MRAM (ST-MRAM) as cache memory. In addition to breaking new ground as a SATA III SSD, this product is also the first to specify STMRAM for its cache. Buffalo Memory will showcase the new product at its booth (B-05) at the Embedded Technology 2013 conference held in Yokohama, Japan on November 20-22.

Buffalo's SS6 series SATA III SSD with Everspin ST-MRAM cache improves tolerance for sudden power loss and reduces power consumption. SATA III runs up to 6.0 Gigabits per second, twice the rate of SATA II, which improves quality of service in high data rate applications.

Buffalo has just announced a new, wireless peripheral, a mouse codenamed BSMBB16 which uses Bluetooth (3.0) technology to connect directly, without the need of an adapter, to PCs or tablets. No adapter means one less occupied USB port that can be used for hooking up other devices. In case your system doesn't have Bluetooth support, an adapter will be available for purchase.

Coming in three color versions - black, white and navy (blue), the BSMBB16 measures 106 x 40 x 76 mm, it has a 1000 dpi Blue Focus blue LED sensor, a rubber side grip, four buttons, a scroll wheel, and requires one AA battery for power. Buffalo is set to release the mouse later this month at 3,465 yen (~ 35 USD).

In addition to readying the RUF3-PW Series flash drives, Buffalo is also set to introduce a speedy new external drive that uses Thunderbolt connectivity, the SSD-WAT Series. Suited for video editing and other intensive work, the upcoming drive measures 154 x 102 x 45 mm, it weighs 540 grams, has an aluminum chassis, active cooling, and it packs two solid state drives set in RAID0 which enable speeds of up to 763 MB/s. The drive includes two Thunderbolt (10 Gbps) ports to allow daisy chaining of up to six devices.

The SSD-WAT Series drive will ship in 256 GB (78,015 yen / ~ 790 USD), 512 GB (111,615 yen / ~ 1,131 USD) and 1 TB (189,000 yen / ~ 1,916 USD) capacities.

Buffalo today unveiled its latest portable storage offering, the RUF3-PW Series flash drives which feature USB 3.0 connectivity and multiple, lively color options. Coming in yellow, green, pink and blue, these new drives measure 65 x 23 x 9 mm, they weigh just 12 grams and have a capless design (the USB connector slides in and out of the casing), and are capable of transfer speeds of up to 70 MB/s.

Buffalo Inc. today unveiled a new family of portable hard drives which are known as the HD-PNFU3 Series and come in a variety of colors including black, white, red, pink, blue and yellow. Seen below, the HDDs measure 115 x 79.5 mm (thickness varies by capacity - 13.5 mm for 500 GB, 16 mm for 1 TB and 21.5 mm for 2 TB), and have USB 3.0 connectivity, a shock-absorbing internal frame, plus support for the TurboPC EX2 software and its save mode which allows data stored on the drives to be automatically compressed.

The HD-PNFU3 Series drives are backed by a one-year warranty and are set to arrive around the end of November priced at 11,130 yen (~113 USD), 15,015 yen (~ 153 USD) and 28,770 yen (~293 USD) for the 500 GB, 1 TB and 2 TB units, respectively.

By the end of this month Buffalo will be releasing a new peripheral, the BSMBW09 Series wireless mouse. This model measures 73 x 107 x 40 mm and features 2.4 GHz wireless connectivity, a Blue LED sensor with a maximum resolution of 1200 dpi, a scroll wheel and four buttons including two side buttons for quick access to the Windows 8.1 Start Screen and Charms Bar.

Buffalo's mouse can offer up to 134 hours of continuous use on a single battery and comes in six color versions - black, white, silver, blue, red and pink. The BSMBW09 is set to cost 3,465 yen (~ 35 USD).

Buffalo has today announced the HD-LCU3 Series a new line of external hard drives that goes up to 4 TB in terms of capacity. Coming in black and white (the white models top 3 TB, while the black ones reach 4 TB), the fresh drives measure 187 x 120 x 39 mm, they weigh about 1 kg, and feature USB 3.0 connectivity, an internal anti-vibration system, no active cooling, and a casing that allows both vertical and horizontal installation. Moreover, using the TurboPC EX2 software, users can activate the HDD's 'Save Mode' which compresses the data transferred to it so as to fit in more content.

The 1 TB, 2 TB, 3 TB and 4 TB HD-LCU3 Series drives will arrive at the end of this month priced at 13,125 yen (~ 134 USD), 16,485 yen (~ 169 USD), 22,050 yen (~ 225 USD) and 38,850 yen (~ 397 USD), respectively.

Seen below, the HDD is 115 by 76 mm (thickness differs by capacity - 11.5 mm for 500 GB, 14 mm for 1 TB and 19.5 mm for 2 TB), it has USB 3.0 connectivity, it comes in two color versions - black and white, and includes a power saving mode that lowers standby consumption to just 0.95 W, and a transfer mode that will compress data on the drive, so as to fit in more content.

The Mini Station Turbo PC EX2 is backed by a one-year warranty and is set to ship early next month, priced at 9,975 yen (~ 100 USD) for the 500 GB drive, 13,860 yen (~ 139 USD) for the 1 TB model, and 27,720 yen (~ 279 USD) for the 2 TB unit.
