Club3D Unveils HDMI to DP or Type-C 4K120 Active Adapters

Club 3D is launching two new adapters today which have been the most requested items by game enthusiasts over the past 2 years. Game Consoles are setting new standards with every new generation. One of the most important ones of the latest consoles is the Ultra High Speed HDMI output, that most of them have. This delivers high bandwidth, which allows resolutions up to 4K120Hz. Displays used on the other side of the setup may have DisplayPort or USB Type-C inputs, which requires signal conversion. The new adapters offer this and are the perfect solution for users who have the latest game consoles and DisplayPort 1.4 capable displays—native or via DisplayPort Alternate Mode.

Club 3D Unveils PD 240W USB Type-C Cables

Club 3D is proud to present to you the next important step in USB-C technology. Less than a year after the official launch of the new USB Type-C Cable and Connector Specification Revision 2.1 and USB Power Delivery Specification 3.1, we can introduce the first 3 cables following the new standards.

The above just means: With our new cables it is possible to charge with up to 240 W, made possible by the Extended Power Range (EPR), which offers now up to 48 V voltage supply at a remaining 5 A. This is a huge step forward and will help f.e. to charge power hungry gaming notebooks and other devices who were suffering from the limitation of 100 W on previous standard.

Club 3D Expands its Product Portfolio with New MST Hubs and HDMI Cables

Club 3D as the pioneer of Multi Stream Transport Hubs strengthen our presence in this segment with the announcement of the following products to complement our already established MST Hubs. Since our first introduction back in 2013, we are reaching a maturity level on these product lines and therefore we are introducing a lighter version packed in a polybag and powered solely with USB power. Compared to our further continued CSV-5XXX line of MST Hubs the new items will differ in some major points:
  • all models are powered by USB only, no power supply needed
  • different packaging: polybag instead of retail box
  • no reset button on the product, for repeating digital handshake just plug the MST Hub on/off from the Display Port.
  • no MiniDP to DP Adapter included in the box.

Club3D Announces DP 1.1 to HDMI 1.4 VR Ready Passive Adapter

Reading this news you have the first 2017 message from Club 3D in front of you. 2017 will be a very exciting year for Club 3D since it will be the year of the 20th anniversary of the company that was founded in 1997 in the Netherlands. But not only this makes it exciting. Like always in IT, new technologies come up and after a certain time they have their breakthrough. In the year that we are all just starting a lot of tech people expect this for the following two: VR (Virtual Reality) and Type-C. For Type C you will receive another press release later this week. We are now going to look at VR.

Club 3D is proud to announce the first VR Ready adapters CAC-1056 (DisplayPort 1.1 to HDMI 1.4) and CAC-1156 (Mini DisplayPort 1.1 to HDMI 1.4). To drive your high resolution HDMI VR device without any trouble it is required that you have the right adapters to connect those to your PC or Laptop. Not every adapter or cable is capable of doing so. Adapters for VR devices need to be passive Adapters. Using one of the Club 3D adapters you can enjoy your VR device with those graphic cards that offer VR support like f.e. the latest AMD 470 and 480 chipsets or the Radeon Pro WX cards in the professional segment.

Here's the first picture of an AIB-branded Radeon R9 290 (non-X) graphics card, the Club3D Radeon R9 290. The card sticks to AMD's reference board design, which like the Radeon R9 290X, could have exclusive market presence for a while, before AMD's add-in board (AIB) partners come up with their own board designs. This particular card features a factory-overclock, although we don't have the clock speeds at hand. The reference design clock speeds, which will be loaded into the card's failsafe secondary BIOS, will be 946 MHz core, and 5.00 GHz (GDDR5-effective) memory. Based on the 28 nm "Hawaii" silicon, the Radeon R9 290 features 2,560 stream processors, 160 TMUs, 64 ROPs, and a 512-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface, holding 4 GB of memory.

Ahead of its formal launch, various AIB-branded Radeon R9 290X graphics card packages smiled for the camera, revealing three things - they're all based on AMD's reference design, barring minor factory-overclock, they're otherwise identical, and that it could be a while before we'll see non-reference design R9 290X graphics cards. Pictured below are cards from three AIB partners, Sapphire, Club3D, and GIGABYTE. Barring Club3D, the other two offer Origin keys to Battlefield 4 (standard edition) as part of the package. We know of one other AIB that offers Battlefield 4, XFX.
