Colorful Announces GeForce GT 640 Quad-View Graphics Card

Colorful unveiled a new GeForce GT 640, the GT 640 PRO X4. Just as the name, the graphics solution delivers a reliable platform to ensure a stable business environment and to meet the needs of four displays connectivity. The display connectivity options include two DMS59 ports, and cables are provided that convert each DMS59 to two DVI-I single-link, which supports digital resolutions of up to 1920 x 1200 pixels. And each of the DMS59 ports uses EMI shield for reducing the noise signals.

The card is based on single slot, full height and fan cooler design. The clock is the same as the reference card, the core runs at 900 MHz, and the GDDR3 memory runs at 1782 MHz. The GT 640 PRO X4 uses NVIDIA GK107 with 28 nm architecture, and the TDP is only 65W. Unlike the low-end multi-display solutions, the Colorful GT 640 PRO X4 has 384 CUDA cores and 2G memory to meet the need of large resolution. Pricing information is not released.

Colorful Announces the iGame GTX 650 Ti Graphics Card

Colorful's kicked off its GeForce GTX 650 Ti lineup with the iGame GTX 650 Ti. Based on a custom board design, Colorful's card makes use of the iGame AresX cooling solution. The cooler consists of a dense aluminum fin stack to which heat from the GPU is fed by two 8 mm-thick nickel-plated copper heat pipes. Ventilation is care of a single 90 mm fan. Another innovative feature is that all electrical contacts on the PCB are silver-plated. The PCB features dual-BIOS, and a factory-overclocked profile can be set at the push of a button. Colorful Unveils GeForce GTX 650 iGame AresX Graphics Card

Colorful unveiled its second graphics card based on the GeForce GTX 650. The GTX 650 iGame AresX builds on the feature-set of the original iGame, with overclocker-friendly features such as "One Key OC," voltage measurement points, higher clock speeds, and a better cooler. The new cooler uses a twin 8 mm-thick heat pipe design with a denser aluminum fin stack. It appears to use the same 90 mm fan as the original card. Colorful GTX 650 iGame AresX ships with NVIDIA-reference clock speeds of 1058 MHz core and 5.00 GHz memory, but at the push of a switch on the back-plate, the GPU is overclocked to 1158 MHz and memory to 5.20 GHz. The new card is expected to be priced at 800 RMB (around US $149).

Colorful Announces its GeForce GTX 660 and GTX 650 Graphics Cards

Colorful Announces GeForce GTX 660 Ti iGame Graphics Card

Colorful announced the GeForce GTX 660 Ti iGame. The new graphics card is designed for overclockers, and includes an elaborate cooling solution with detachable heatsink shards. Colorful did not confirm clock speeds, but judging by its record, the GTX 660 Ti iGame is most likely a reference-clocked graphics card with a large overclocking headroom, and the features to let you take advantage of that, with your own skills. The GTX 660 Ti iGame cooler uses a large main heatsink, to which additional heatsinks can be attached using heat pipes. The cooler is ventilated by a pair of 80 mm fans, and a set of shark fin-inspired vents that guide in fresh air. The card is expected to be available in Asia and EU.

Colorful Shark Bionic Cooler Detailed

Colorful released pictures of its new Shark Bionic graphics card cooling solution, which will feature on the company's upcoming GeForce GTX 670 iGame Ares X graphics card. The designers seem to have opted for a more conventional-looking dual-slot cooling solution (judging by its standards, at least). The Shark Bionic cooler uses a compound heatsink design. At a nickel-plated copper GPU base, nine 8 mm-thick heat pipes of the same material make indirect contact with the GPU. The heat pipes then transport heat to three aluminum fin stacks, one directly over the GPU base, one over the VRM area, and a smaller one along the top of the card. The three are ventilated by two 80 mm fans. The design of the cooler shroud and fan blades are inspired by the shark, which work to guide the most amount of air with the least turbulence (resulting in less noise).

ColorFire Radeon HD 7870 XStorm Graphics Card Detailed

Colorful's AMD Radeon-centric graphics card brand, ColorFire, is out with a new graphics card which keeps in tune with the design principle of backing a performance-segment GPU with preposterous amounts of features (VRM, cooling, OC features, etc.) The company showed off its Radeon HD 7870 XStorm graphics card at this year's Computex event in Taipei, though it is only now that we're seeing pictures of the card taken apart. Pictured below is the card of the hour. This Radeon HD 7870 graphics card is so long, that it comes with a support brace for workstation cases and Apple Mac Pro.

The card powers the otherwise cool and quiet "Pitcairn" GPU with an 8+1+1 onboard VRM, which can be expanded by a 4-phase VRM card that supports higher power draw. The card draws power from two 8-pin PCIe power connectors. Despite a VRM design that's fit to condition power for the HD 7970 GHz Edition (or jump-start an SUV), the ColorFire HD 7870 XStorm ships with mildly-overclocked speeds of 1050 MHz core and 1250 MHz (5.00 GHz effective) memory. It packs 2 GB of GDDR5 memory across a 256-bit wide memory interface.

Colorful Unveils Fanless GeForce GTX 680 Graphics Card

Now see this: a fanless, passive-cooled GeForce GTX 680! Chinese graphics card designer Colorful unveiled the world's first passive-cooled GeForce GTX 680 graphics card, the iGame GTX 680 passive. The card uses a pair of detachable, dense aluminum fin heatsinks, which draw heat from the 3.5 billion transistor GPU using seven heat pipes, and dissipate it using two aluminum fin stacks on either sides of the PCB. The two stacks are joined by six 8 mm-thick heat pipes.

The cooler cumulatively has 20 heat pipes, a surface area of 2 square meters across 280 aluminum fins. The second module is optional, and is only recommended if the operating environment is warm, or if the end user is overclocking. The card is said to use a complex VRM design that draws power from two 8-pin PCIe power connectors, though we suspect the idea behind that to be heat spreading. The design guarantees reliable silent operation at reference clock speeds or mild overclocking. Display outputs include one each of dual-link DVI, HDMI, and DisplayPort. Colorful is still assessing the marketability of the design. Watch this space for more.

Colorful Unveils Graphics Card Cooler with Modular Air + LN2 Design

Check out this graphics card cooler design concept from the design house of Colorful, the people behind some of the most wacky and ingenuous graphics card cooler designs. The card is touted to be the "world's first liquid nitrogen customized."

Its cooler design is pretty straightforward. The GPU, memory, VRM, and other hot ancillaries make contact with a copper vapor-chamber plate, to which are attached a first stage of aluminum fin heatsinks. This stage can be decked up with a second stage of heatsinks that attach to the first stage using numerous heat-pipes, and a fan can be attached at the center, which ventilate the heatsinks. The fan, along with the second stage, can be removed, to reveal the copper plate that makes direct contact with the GPU. To this, a liquid-nitrogen (LN2) evaporator (parallel or perpendicular to the card's plane), can be attached. The LN2 evaporator cools the entire first stage, which cools not only the GPU, but also the memory, VRM, and other hot ancillaries.

Chaintech Partners with Colorful, Displays High-End Motherboards

As promised, Walton-Chaintech made a comeback to the PC motherboard and graphics card markets, by partnering with Colorful. The duo launched a full-fledged lineup of motherboards across various sockets (including LGA1155, AM3+, FM2), and graphics cards. Leading the lineup on the motherboard front are the Z77 X5 and X990FX X7.

Based on the Intel Z77 chipset, supporting the Core "Ivy Bridge" and "Sandy Bridge" processors, the Z77 X5 makes use of the entire feature-set of the platform. The LGA1155 socket is powered by a 8-phase VRM with special branding "Smart Power Engine 3," which gives user. fine control over the VRM via BIOS. Expansion slots include two each of PCI-Express 3.0 x16 (red, x8/x8, when both are populated), PCI-Express 2.0 x1, and legacy PCI. AMD CrossFireX is the only multi-GPU technology supported. 8-channel HD audio, 802.11 b/g/n, gigabit Ethernet, 2x SATA 6 Gb/s + 4x SATA 3 Gb/s, are among its features.

Colorful GeForce GTX 670 Graphics Card Pictured

Here are the first pictures of Colorful GeForce GTX 670. The card, according to the source, sticks to NVIDIA reference design. It's not much different from the other GeForce GTX 670 cards pictured till date, but it's the card's rear view picture that caught our attention. We noticed from pictures of MSI's card, that the two 6-pin PCI-E power connectors are located more towards the central portion of the card, than towards the end, this led us to believe that the GTX 670 will have a shorter than usual PCB, which these latest pictures confirm.

The PCB (rear) picture reveals quite a few things. To begin with, the VRM area is moved to the front portion of the PCB, similar to AMD's HD 7800 series. A great deal of compacting has been done, the eight GDDR5 memory chips are spread across both sides of the PCB (four on each side), probably to manage heat and wiring better. The portion of the cooler that's sticking out of the card needn't pack metal parts (heatsinks), there's just a chamber for the fan. NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 670 is expected to launch later this month.

Colorful Makes GeForce GTX 680 iGame Kudan Official

Colorful announced its most powerful GTX 680 named "iGame GTX680-2G Kudan". The first "iGame Kudan" graphics card was released last year, and it was a GTX560Ti. Now Colorful uses the design concept on the latest GK104 chip.

Like the first generation, iGame GTX680 Kudan equipped a huge cooler which requires three slots and assembles three fans, one is 90mm, and others are 80mm and with "Shark Bionic" design in order to reduce the noise. Below the triple fans, there are heat-sinks which are crossed by ten 6mm heat-pipes. A 3mm steel plate is covered on the back of the PCB in order to enhance the PCB and improve the heat radiation.

The iGame Kudan's design methodology revolves around giving users an extremely tweakable and modular cooling solution, which can not only be modified by playing with its heatsinks, but also be re-painted to suit your style. Colorful included a pastel-set the last time around. Under the hood, the card is packed by a modular VRM. Colorful Announces Cable-Routing King C2 RTX Chassis

Colorful announces their first RTX (Reversed Technology eXtended) chassis named Cable-Routing King C2. Unlike the ordinary chassis, the RTX likes a upside down structure of ATX. With the RTX structure, it fixes the problem that users usually need an external cable to connect the CPU power cable when they route and hide the cables in the back with a PSU downside chassis. Beside, this structure also guarantees the graphics card better heat radiation.

The dimensions of Cable-Routing King C2 are 468mm x 466mm x 190mm, though it is not as large as Mid-Tower chassis, it provides shorter distance for cable routing. The motherboard need to be reversed installation, so the graphics card will be installed in the upside. After showing off the PCB of the new design GTX560Ti days before, Colorful today releases this new graphics card and named iGame GTX560Ti Kudan.

iGame GTX560Ti Kudan requires three slots and assembles three fans, one is 80mm, and the other two are 70mm which with "Shark Bionic" design in order to reduce the noise. Users need to remove the cooler to install the expansion card on the obverse side near the rear plate. Both WHDI card and Television Card are available to be installed independently to satisfy users' requirement.

Colorful Shows Off The Most Powerful GeForce GTX 560 Ti PCB Featured in iGame Card

Asian graphics card vendor Colorful is at it again with its innovative board designs. This time, the company is after a GeForce GTX 560 Ti (GF114-based) graphics card that boasts of very strong power delivery, and a few mysterious expansion options. Colorful's emphasis has always been on PCB design and choice of high-grade components. This particular card, most likely called the Colorful GTX 560 Ti iGame, is no exception to that. The PCB is particularly long (as much as a GF110-based board).

The additional length is put to use by an innovative arrangement of VRM phases in two rows of four phases. This card employs high-grade chokes with driver-MOSFETs (a component that integrates up/down MOSFETs and driver IC into a single compact package). This 8-phase VRM draws power from three 6-pin power connectors, and can deliver 300W of power to help with record-seeking overclocking feats. There are consolidated voltage measurement points to help manually measure voltages.

ColorFire Shows Off Xstorm HD 6850 X2 4 GB Graphics Card

Asian graphics card manufacturer known for its intriguing designs, Colorful, after a brief gap of four months, unveiled its latest graphics card in the works, under its Radeon-centric ColorFire brand. Called the ColorFire Xstorm HD 6850 X2 4GB, its name pretty much spells out what it's about: a dual-GPU (CrossFire on-a-stick) graphics card with two Radeon HD 6850 GPUs, and 4 GB of total memory (2 GB per GPU system). It's not just the specifications that earned Colorful/ColorFire its popularity, it's their nerdtastic choice of components. This card is no exception.

Colorful Intros Raynor Tower G3 Computer Case with Graphics Cards Enhancer

Colorful Technology, known as a graphics cards provider, today announces its new case for global market, which is named Raynor Tower G3. It measures 195mm (W) 517mm (H) 535mm (D), most of the body is made of SECC metal. The Raynor Tower G3 equipped with a removable plate at the top of the chassis for creating perfect air duct. One of the sides has a large opening with dust filter which allows installing two 120/90/80mm cooling units.

In the rear, the PSU bay has been placed on the bottom, and above there are 8 expansion slots for PCI/PCIE devices installation. A 120/90/80mm exhaust fan and two openings for water cooling tubes are provided on the top.

Colorful Intros iGame560 Ymir and Ymir-U Series Graphics Cards

Growing in popularity, Chinese graphics card designer Colorful is ready with yet another graphics card design, this time based on the new NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 GPU. Called the Coloful iGame560 Ymir, the card is based on a revision of the company's "shark-fin" cooler design, while retaining the GF114 PCB the company used on older GTX 560 Ti graphics cards. The iGame560 Ymir PCB uses high grade components, 6+1 phase VRM, and redundant BIOS switchable from the rear panel. The "normal mode" BIOS runs the card at NVIDIA reference speeds of 810/1002 MHz (core/memory actual), while the "turbo mode" BIOS runs the card at 850/1050 MHz.

The iGame560 Ymir comes with an optional accessory called "Air-kit", which is a detachable heat pipe that draws heat from the main heatsink out of the case through the rear panel, and on to a small heatsink that passively dissipates heat. The Ymir model uses a beefy fan-heatsink that uses a large and elaborate heatsink, which is ventilated by two fans. The card is available in both 1 GB and 2 GB variants. Apart from the Ymir, Colorful also released the iGame Ymir-U 1 GB and Ymir-U 2 GB, which use a slightly more compact cooler that uses a circular heatsink with radially-projecting aluminum fins and a copper base. The Ymir-U cooler makes do with a single fan. On the Ymir-U cards, turbo mode runs the card at 830/1050 MHz.

ColorFire Readies Radeon HD 6870 Graphics Card for Extreme Overclocking

ColorFire, the associate brand of Colorful that specializes in AMD Radeon-based graphics cards, today released a new Radeon HD 6870 card geared for extreme overclocking. Its design revolves around high-grade VRM, powerful cooling, and dual BIOS, each packing overclocked settings. The ColorFire Xstorm HD 6870 is a completely non-reference design card, the GPU is powered by a 5+1 phase VRM that uses POSCAP capacitors. The card uses two BIOS ROM chips that can be selected using a push-switch on the rear panel. The "normal" BIOS packs clock speeds of 940 MHz core and 1100 MHz (4.40 GHz effective) memory, while the "turbo" BIOS runs the card at 1050 MHz core, 1150 MHz (4.60 GHz effective) memory.

The card is cooled by a large custom-design cooler the company earlier used on an HD 6850 card with similar design. It uses a large heat pipe-fed heatsink that is cooled by a 110 mm fan. Other overclocker-friendly features include consolidated voltage measure points with cables; and hardware-based voltage adjustment using DIP switches on the card. It draws power from two 6-pint power connectors. Display outputs include two DVI, and one each of full-size HDMI 1.4a, and DisplayPort 1.2. Colorfire will first sell the card in Asia, and then in Europe.

Colorful Intros Their GeForce GTX 590

Colorful, the launch partner of NVIDIA in Asia, announces the latest high-end graphics card, GeForce GTX 590. Based on a reference design, the card has scratch artworks on the stickers, which infuses the card some symbolic significances. GTX 590 equips with 24 pieces of GDDR5 memory modules in total, 12 pieces on the front and the same quantity on the back, memory capacity is up to 3GB and the clock is set at 3414MHz. 2 pieces of GF110 chips are installed on the PCB and each of the chips has 5 phases VRM, the clock of these two GPUs are both set at 607MHz.

Colorful Intros iGame GeForce GTX 550 Ti Ymir Graphics Card

Colorful backed NVIDIA's launch of the GeForce GTX 550 Ti mainstream GPU with its own iGame series non-reference design graphics card, the iGame550-1024 D5 Ymir. The card uses Colorful's non-reference design PCB that uses a 4+1 phase VRM, high-grade components, and dual BIOS that is selectable with a switch on the rear panel. One of the two BIOS ROMs packs failsafe clock speeds of 900/1000 MHz (core/memory), while the other "Turbo" BIOS runs the card at 1000/1100 MHz. The card is cooled by Colorful's iconic "Shark fin" cooler that packs large heatsinks, and some clever air-channeling mojo. The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti packs 192 CUDA cores, and connects to 1 GB of memory over a 192-bit wide memory interface. Colorful's iGame550-1024 D5 Ymir is available in Asia immediately, and will reach Europe in the coming weeks.

ColorFire Releases Xstorm HD 6850 Graphics Card, Breaks Vantage Record

ColorFire released its new Xstorm HD 6850 graphics card. ColorFire is a sister-brand of Colorful, which focuses on AMD Radeon-based graphics cards, as Colorful specializes on NVIDIA GeForce ones. Shortly after its introduction, the ColorFire team led by overclocker Carl from China was able to break a 3DMark Vantage record for the Radeon HD 6850. The overclocker achieved P27751 points, some 3810 points ahead of the previous record-holder. The card sustained overclocked speeds of 1500 MHz core and 1275 MHz (5100 MHz GDDR5 effective) memory, and backed by an Intel Core i7-980X clocked at 5.7 GHz, with the entire setup being cooled by liquid nitrogen. The Xstorm HD 6850 from ColorFire features the same mid-range exorbitance characteristic of Colorful. It features a PCB with a strong VRM, making use of high-quality components; and a large cooler. It features 1 GB of memory, a 4+1 phase VRM, dual-BIOS, OCP unlock switches, and consolidated voltage-measure points. The VRM uses high-grade chokes and POSCAP capacitors. The cooler uses a large (quiet) fan to cool a big heatsink to which heat is conveyed by three heat pipes.

Colorful Announces iGame GeForce GT 440 Series Graphics Cards

Colorful, one of the biggest NVIDIA graphics card suppliers in Asian market, announces two GeForce GT 440 models - iGame440 1G Ymir-U and iGame440 1G Buri-Slim. Both of these two cards are based on the same PCB solution, but with different coolers and clocks.

iGame440 1G Ymir-U has better performance, it uses the "shark" design on the cooler, which with pure cooper base and nickel plated heat-pipe, providing better thermal and 3D performance. The clock is setting at 850/3800MHz (core/memory), comparing to the reference edition 810/3600MHz, iGame440 has about 5% improvement.

Colorful Announces iGame GeForce GTX 560 Ti Graphics Card

Colorful announces the latest NVIDIA graphics card - GTX560 Ti. Comparing with the GTX460, the new GTX560Ti provides 48 more CUDA Processors; as the architecture of GF114 is like an "update" of GF104 , the GTX560 Ti is compatible with the PCB solution of GTX460, that's why we could see most of the GTX560 looks like GTX460. Colorful also continues the PCB solution of iGame460, which made a great success in 2010, and named the new product as iGame560-1024 D5 Ymir.

The iGame560 continues the Shark-inspired Bionic design on the cooler, however, it increases the surface of nickel plated cooper base and the length of the heat-pipes, to achieve better thermal performance. For the VRM area, it makes use of a 7-phase design, with high-grade ONSEMI-made MOSFETs which are covered by one piece of radiator. Just like other iGame Ymir series, it has a dual-BIOS design that is user-controllable with a switch on the rear panel, each BIOS stores a different clock speed profile, in Normal Mode, sticking to reference speeds of 820/4000 MHz (Core/Memory); in Turbo Mode, the clock is setting at 900/4200 MHz, and the performance will achieve to that of HD 6950.
