ADATA made its biggest product portfolio expansion this year with the introduction of new product lines: gaming monitors, gaming notebooks, and compact gaming desktops. To begin with, we caught the XPG Photon, a 27-inch 4K Ultra HD gaming monitor that also has some creator-friendly features such as 95% or above DCI-P3 coverage, and implementations of Burst Refresh and Vivid Color from PixelDisplay. Gamers get not just 4K UHD resolution put out by an eye-pleasing IPS panel, but also 144 Hz refresh-rate at 4K UHD. At the flick of a toggle, the monitor can also be transformed to Full HD (1920 x 1080) at 240 Hz and 600 nits brightness. The panel supports up to 1,500 nits brightness. There's no mention of localized dimming zones, and we didn't spy DisplayHDR logos anywhere. Behind, the monitor features a triangular RGB LED lighting element that can double-up as ambient light. The stand is quite another thing: a proper studio armature with a bench clamp that allows rotation and tilting along both axes, besides height adjustment.

Next up, are the XPG Xenia line of gaming notebooks in the 15.6-inch and 13-inch form-factors. Under the hood are 9th generation Core-H processors with options ranging all the way up to Core i7-9750H, graphics options that include RTX 2070 Max-Q and GTX 1660 Ti; a combination of ADATA's homebrew hand-sorted DDR4 SO-DIMM memory and SX8200 M.2 NVMe storage; and a mechanical keyboard with RGB lighting. All of these, crammed into a magnesium-alloy body. The 15.6-inch display is IPS Full HD with 144 Hz refresh-rate. Lastly, there's the XPG Gaia line of compact gaming desktops. One of its variants is built up to "Ghost Canyon" NUC specs; while the other is a more conventional socketed thin Mini-ITX fare. Both variants are 5-liter compact, and include ADATA XPG memory and SX8000-series M.2 NVMe SSDs. You add your own compatible graphics card (up to 20 cm length). On select variants you even get Thunderbolt 3 ports.

It was an amazing moment for die-hard gamers to play popular titles like Grand Theft Auto: Vice City anywhere they wanted. Power plus mobility, gamers could have it all.

Nearly two decades later, Dell and Alienware will continue showcasing their relentless commitment to gaming innovations at CES. Kicking things off with the new redesigned Dell G5 15 SE (Special Edition), the latest product in Dell's G Series portfolio for new and price-conscious gamers. You'll also learn about a new software to help monitor in-game performance without having to leave your gameplay and about our recently announced Alienware 25" Gaming Monitor, but first, the Dell G5 15 SE.

ViewSonic today unveiled a massive 55-inch OLED gaming monitor that's sure to tick all of the boxes - including (likely) that of most expensive monitor money can buy. The XG550 is an OLED-based, 55" gaming monitor with 4K resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate - alongside a pretty amazing 0.5 ms quoted response time. The fact that it offers 99% coverage of DCI color-space is just icing on the cake for any creative professionals, although I'd imagine they'd much enjoy an 8K presentation on that diagonal size (hey, we can always ask for more, can't we?).

The monitor also supports RGB lighting on a LED emitter on the back of the display (sadly, nothing like Philip's Ambilight, but hey, it at least serves to make your gaming area more interesting; and it's compatible with Razer Chroma). No word on pricing, but ViewSonic expects the Xg550 to be available come 4Q 2020.

Dell Technologies today unveiled new products and software across its premium Latitude, XPS and displays portfolios to help people innovate, collaborate and accomplish more in the next decade. Featuring artificial intelligence (AI), 5G and innovative design, the latest Dell Technologies' PCs and displays make work and play more seamless, intelligent and enjoyable.

AOC today launched the AG273QX, a flat panel gaming monitor (meaning there is no curve, which makes sense due to the usual 16:9 aspect ratio). The AG273QX sports a 27" diagonal with a VA panel, sporting a resolution of 2560 x 1440 and a 165 Hz refresh rate. This refresh rate is mated with support for AMD's FreeSync 2, which makes an appearance due to this monitor also being HDR capable - though at the lowest end of the spectrum, with its HDR 400 certification. With its 1 ms response time, this monitor seems to have all the claims to fame. Sadly, it only sticks to the Adobe sRGB color space with 99% coverage - no DCIP-3 here.

FreeSync 2 HDR means this monitor supports low-latency HDR tone mapping, and LFC (Low Framerate Compensation). AOC are pushing this as a 3-side frameless design, which means that the display should go all the way towards the bezels. If you want to carry this monitor to LAN parties, there's a carrying handle, and the monitor also sports double headset holders in the design. There's an RGB lighting ring on the back of the panel. Connectivity-wise this monitor sports a 4x USB 3.0 HUB, 1x Headphone out, and video inputs are taken care of by 1x VGA, 1x DisplayPort 1.2, and  1x HDMI 2.0. The AOC AGON AG273QX will be available in November 2019 at an MSRP of £439 / €489.

ViewSonic announced new additions to the ELITE gaming portfolio. The company is expanding its gaming line-up with the ELITE XG27 gaming monitor series, XG05 gaming monitor series, ELITE Ally monitor control peripheral, and two new software applications. The new gaming products and software provide the ultimate experience for multifaceted gamers while fulfilling a variety of setups and lifestyles.

GIGABYTE TECHNOLOGY Co. Ltd, a leading manufacturer of motherboards and graphics cards, launched a "true 1500R" curved monitor, the AORUS CV27Q Tactical Gaming Monitor. The CV27Q uses a 27-inch QHD (2560x1440 resolution, 16:9 ratio) 1500R curved VA panel equipped with Black Equalizer 2.0 technology, and the upgraded ANC 2.0 technology.

Acer unveiled a new series of Nitro gaming monitors, designed to bring games to life. The new Acer Nitro XV3 series features four new monitors for gamers that deliver extremely high refresh rates and high resolution, providing outstanding casual gameplay at affordable prices.

The UltraGear is a gamer's dream come true, employing Nano IPS technology to achieve phenomenal color reproduction, ultra-fast response time and a refresh rate of 144 Hz, overclockable to 175 Hz. Samsung at E3 2019 announced their latest high-refresh ration monitor, the CRG5. Based on a 27" VA panel, the display supports only up to 1080p resolution - a limitation that helps it become the fastest refresh-rate monitor in Samsung's lineup with its 240 Hz frequency. These 240 Hz come with the help of support for NVIDIA's G-Sync adaptive sync technology (there's no G-Sync ultimate chip inside, though).

The monitor also offers a 3000:1 contrast ratio, 178º viewing angles, and a peak brightness set at 300 nits - nothing to write home about. It also includes software modes specific for FPS, RTS, and RPG content, and keeps connectivity at a relative minimum with 1x DisplayPort 1.2, 2x HDMI 2.0, and 1x headphone jack. The Samsung CRG5 will be available starting this July for $399.

BenQ announces the ZOWIE XL2731 monitor. The XL2731 is a 27 inch PC e-Sports monitor with native 144Hz refresh rate providing gamers with another option to suit their personal preference. Razer a dominant player in the PC peripherals market is looking to make their mark when it comes to monitors with their all-new Razer Raptor gaming monitor. Its a 27-inch display featuring an IPS panel with a resolution of 2560x1440. It comes with support for FreeSync and has a refresh rate of 144 Hz. Response times are listed as 7 ms typical and 4 ms with Overdrive. The contrast ratio is 1000:1 and the screen has a max brightness of 420 nits. It also offers 95% of the P3-D65 color gamut, and yes it has support for HDR. Connectivity consists of 1x HDMI 2.0, 1x DisplayPort 1.4, 1x USB Type-C with power delivery and 2x USB 3.0.

The design features a wide stand that offers excellent stability while also providing channels for cable routing giving the system a clean and unique appearance especially with those bright green cables. As expected of Razer the Raptor monitor also supports Chrome-powered lights in the base which will sync with the rest of Razer's Chrome gear including, mice, keyboards and even laptops and speakers. In regards to availability, no date has been set just yet; however, Razer said it would be made available later this year with an MSRP of $699.99.

So, that news title may be slightly too flashy for the actual product, but bear with me here: OLED is such an improvement over current mainstream display technologies that its transition to the PC monitor space is one of the most sought-after unicorns in this market. Alienware, via a partnership with LG (that's almost obvious), will be making this particular unicorn come to reality. The Alienware 55 OLED gaming monitor will feature 4K resolution @ 120 Hz, Variable Refresh Rate support via HDMI 2.1 (FreeSync? G-Sync? - all's still up in the air), DisplayPort 1.4, and 98 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 RGB spectrum with a candy of HDR support thrown in the mix.

Razer, the leading lifestyle brand for gamers, announced today its all-new 27-inch gaming monitor concept, the Razer Raptor. The desktop screen will be unveiled at CES 2019 as an early-design-phase model, with production units slated for release later this year. Razer Co-Founder and CEO Min-Liang Tan says, "Razer has worked alongside partners in the past to bring the Razer experience to monitors, but the full potential was never fully realized. We have decided to tackle this space on our own and are very excited to expand our presence to include desktop displays."

You know RGB LED lighting as a"feature" has hit critical mass when it starts getting integrated into monitors. Enter ViewSonics XG240R with it's ELITE RGB accent lighting, which is part of the ELITE RGB Alliance that includes; Thermaltake, Razer, and Cooler Master. Supposedly the accent lighting on this monitor can be synced with other peripherals. However, no details have been given on how that will work just yet. Still, love it or hate it RGB LED illumination is helping sell products, and now ViewSonic is ready to join the party, as for the panel itself it is the same 144 Hz, 1080p, WLED backlight, TN offering used in the XG2402 monitor released previously. No high refresh rate monitor is complete without some form of adaptive sync, with this model, in particular, using FreeSync with a range of 48 Hz to 144 Hz and has a 1 ms response time with Overdrive enabled and a 5 ms response time without.

Viewing comfort with the XG240R and the XG2402 was a priority for ViewSonic with both monitors having height, tilt, pivot, and swivel adjustment options. Connectivity is also quite robust featuring 2x USB Type A 3.0 ports, 1x USB Type B 3.0 port, 2x HDMI 1.4 ports, 1x DisplayPort, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Overall the XG240R has a good set of features, excellent connectivity and a high refresh rate all at a suggested MSRP of $272.99. Meaning the inclusion of the RGB accent lighting will only cost you $10 more over the XG2402.The full specification list follows.

The gaming market is one with high gross margins in the vast majority of its product lines - this is easily seen with the number of companies that have just slapped the same aesthetic look and "gaming" branding to otherwise "normal" product lines. One such instance, in particular, is the gaming monitor segment, where increasing perception of more competitiveness with higher refresh-rate monitors has brought about an urge to upgrade in the market - and not the least of which was brought about by games such as PUBG and Fortnite (the former even sparked an upgrade frenzy in China's Internet Cafes as they vied for ever more customers who would get an edge on their store over others that didn't sport these high refresh-rate monitors).

According to TrendForce's report, ASUS is the worldwide sales leader i the gaming monitor segment, followed by Acer, with AOC/Philips coming in a close third. TrendForce reports that the increased demand has seen shipment of gaming-grade (or at least branded) monitors has doubled in 2018 compared to last year, and that a sector that has increased significantly is the one of curved monitors, which has been taken up chiefly by Samsung, bringing it to the fourth spot in the manufacturer race. The curved monitor market has achieved a 50% stake in the whole of the gaming monitor, led chiefly by China's demand.

AOC, a worldwide leader in monitor display technology, today announces the first member of the premium AGON monitor line with HDR support, the AG322QC4 gaming monitor. Samsung Electronics unveiled its new CJG5 curved gaming monitor at Gamescom 2018, held from August 21 to 25. Samsung is exhibiting its advanced gaming monitor line-up equipped with super ultra-wide CHG90 experience zone under the theme, "Wider View. Winning Play." Held in Cologne, Germany, Gamescom is one of the world's largest gaming trade shows that attracted more than 350 thousand visitors from more than 50 countries, last year alone.

The newly-developed CJG5 32-inch(C32JG5) and 27-inch(C27JG5) monitors feature key gaming technologies such as WQHD high resolution, curved display, 144Hz refresh rate and a high contrast ratio. Globally available in the third quarter of 2018, the bezel-less, game-optimized CJG5 provides a completely smooth and immersive gaming experience at a reasonable and affordable price backed by Samsung's technology expertise.

According to a report by DigiTimes, panel-maker AU Optronics is looking to ship gaming panels with built-in mini-LED technology going into the 4Q 2018. This isn't a new display tech, and shouldn't be confused with Micro LED tech, which is hailed as the great coming of an OLED killer. Despite that, mini-LED remains a very interesting, likely crucial piece of technology in enabling much increased color accuracy and contrast ratios of current panel technology - thus also bettering HDR implementations.

Usually, a given monitor or TV features Edge-lit LED technology to achieve the backlighting necessary for image display (or in the case of OLED, there's no need for any of that, since it's a self-emissive technology). In recent times, contrast ratios have been increased by the introduction of local dimming (essentially, there are multiple LED lighting units across the entirety of the monitor or TV, which can be singularly controlled to achieve desired lighting ratios). Mini-LED technology brings this a leap further, allowing for an enormous increase in lighting zones - up to the tens of thousands, compared, for example, to the 384 local dimming units present on the recently released 4K, 144 Hz G-Sync monitors - of which AUO did sample specification-like panels but with this added mini-LED tech. Of course, these "tens of thousands" still pale in comparison to an OLED panel's pixel-count-like dimmable LEDs. As a bonus, panel thickness can also be reduced with mini-LED tech.
