ZOTAC Unveils GeForce GTX 650 Ti Destroyer TSI

In value-conscious markets, the way a graphics card is presented, goes a long way in making sure it sells. ZOTAC understands this all too well, and unveiled its new GeForce GTX 650 Ti Destroyer TSI graphics card. The card features top-Dollar looks, but really features a clever amount of cost-balancing. To begin with, its cooler uses a monolithic aluminum heatsink that's densely ridged, although it looks like a fin-stack. The heatsink is cooled by a pair of 70 mm fans, and is clad by a sporty-looking ABS shroud. The PCB features a 4-phase VRM, which draws power from a single 6-pin PCIe power connector. The card ships with a factory-overclock of 1033 MHz core, and 6.00 GHz memory (96 GB/s). It features 2 GB of GDDR5 memory, across a 128-bit wide memory interface. ZOTAC is offering the card within the Greater China region, only.

MSI GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost Pictured

Here are the first pictures of an MSI-branded GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost graphics card. The card features MSI's Gaming Series branding, a custom board design with Twin Frozr III cooling solution, and what could be a non-reference design PCB. As details emerge, the GTX 650 Ti Boost is turning out to be more of a competitor for AMD's Radeon HD 7850 than its recently launched HD 7790. Based on the 28 nm GK106 silicon, it reportedly features 768 CUDA cores, a 192-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface holding 2 GB of memory (memory size printed on MSI's box), GPU Boost, core clock speeds in the neighborhood of 1030 MHz; and 6.00 GHz memory (144 GB/s). It is expected to come out a little later this month.

AMD Radeon HD 7790 Arriving This Week

It looks like AMD isn't waiting till the end of March or early April to launch its Radeon HD 7790 performance-segment graphics card. According to a 3DCenter.org report, the new graphics card will launch this week, either on Thursday or Friday, and that press-samples of the card have already shipped out. Based on the brand new 28 nm "Bonaire" silicon, the HD 7790 is expected to capture a price-point competitive to NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 650 Ti, around 135€. NVIDIA isn't sitting idle, and is planning a GTX 650 Ti refresh of its own.

NVIDIA GTX 650 Ti Refresh Could Feature GPU Boost and +50% Memory Bandwidth: Report

With AMD looking to turn up the heat (pun unintended) in the sub-$200 market segment, NVIDIA is reacting with a GeForce GTX 650 Ti refresh. According to specifications reported by Bright Side of News (BSN), NVIDIA will make some pretty big changes. While the CUDA core count of 768 is unlikely to change, NVIDIA could introduce GPU Boost, a feature the GTX 650 Ti currently lacks, and increase the memory bus width to 192-bit.

The card could ship with clock speeds of 980 MHz core, 1030 MHz GPU Boost, and 6.00 GHz memory (144 GB/s), compare that to the 925 MHz core and 5.40 GHz memory of the current GTX 650 Ti. NVIDIA is making it a strategic move not to change retail name despite such a major overhaul, so buyers will have to stay on their toes when choosing GTX 650 Ti (thoroughly inspect specifications).

NVIDIA Working on Faster GeForce GTX 650 Ti

In an attempt to avert the threat posed by the upcoming AMD Radeon HD 7790 "Bonaire," NVIDIA is reportedly changing the specifications of its current GeForce GTX 650 Ti. The company could increase reference clock speeds of its current GTX 650 Ti, without tinkering with physical specifications such as CUDA core count (of 768) or memory bus width of 128-bit. The GTX 650 Ti currently features reference clock speeds of 925 MHz core, and 1350 MHz (5.40 GHz GDDR5-effective) memory. The rehashed GTX 650 Ti could be released towards the end of March, or early-April.
