AOC Launches 2436Vw Full-HD Monitor in North America

Displays specialist AOC today released the 2436Vw full-HD, 23.6 inch monitor to the North American markets. With a native resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, the 2436Vw intends to deliver its goods at a low price point.

The panel has a response time of 5 ms, and a dynamic contrast ratio of 30,000:1. It has a maximum brightness of 300 cd/m2. On the connectivity front, it features D-Sub and DVI. Boasting of a EPEAT Gold rating, and backed by a three-year warranty, the 2436Vw sells for US $214.

NEC Unveils MultiSync EA231WMi, First 23 inch 16:9 LCD with IPS Panel

NEC Display Solutions will be launching the first 23" screen with IPS technology in 16:9 format in autumn 2009. The MultiSync EA231WMi combines excellent image quality in high resolution (full HD) with low energy consumption and its wide screen format enhances productivity. Another innovation for NEC desktop displays is the DisplayPort interface for future-proof digital connectivity. Priced at a similar level as conventional 19" or wide 22" models it offers more display area to work with several applications at the same time. Gateway Intros New Widescreen HD Monitors

Gateway announced two new widescreen LCD monitors in its ranks. The FHD2102 bmidgz is a 21.5 inch display, while the FHD2402 bmidgz is 24 inch. Both offer a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, and brightness of 300 cd/m². While the FHD2102 offers access time of 5 ms and dynamic contrast ratio of 20000:1, the FHD2402 provides 2 ms of access time and 40000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. Both monitors take input from DVI, D-Sub and HDMI. They are mounted with 2W stereo speakers. While the FHD2102 sells for $200, the FHD2402 is priced higher, at $270.

VIA Nano Processor and S3 Chrome 435 ULP Power New Tongfong Thin and Light Notebook

HDMI Licensing LLC Announces Features of Upcoming HDMI 1.4 Specification

HDMI Licensing, LLC, the agent responsible for licensing the High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) specification, today announced the features that will be incorporated in the upcoming HDMI 1.4 specification. This latest version of the HDMI specification will, among other advancements, offer networking capabilities with Ethernet connectivity and will add an Audio Return Channel to enable upstream audio connections via the HDMI cable. The HDMI specification 1.4 will be available for download on the HDMI LLC website no later than June 30, 2009.

Iiyama Launches ProLite E2407HDSV-1

The ProLite E2407HDSV features 16:9 High Definition 1920 x 1080 native resolution, complimented with a 2 msec response rate and a 30,000:1 Advance Contrast Ratio. The E2407HDSV is targeted at gamers and those using multimedia applications. The monitor is available in both black and white casings.

The new LCD also has two 3W speakers, D-Sub, DVI and HDMI connectors, and is backed by a 3-year warranty. The recommended price tag for the ProLite E2407HDS / E2407HDS-B is around $313.
