Dangbei Launches its Mars Laser Projector with Ultra-bright 1080p Laser Projection

Dangbei, a global leader in the home projector market, today announces the launch of its new ultra-bright laser home projector with native Netflix, the Mars. Building on the popularity of the Emotn N1 projector, officially licensed by Netflix, the new model brings even more improvements to bring the cinema experience home. By incorporating laser technology into the Mars, it makes it the brightest and clearest Netflix viewing experience on the big screen.

Enabling users to watch the best movies on Netflix in 1080p Full HD, the Mars utilizes ALPD (Advanced Laser Phosphor Display) technology, which is commonly used in cinemas, offices and home entertainment systems. By incorporating ALPD technology, the Mars offers a remarkable 2100 ISO lumens of brightness, powered by an ultra-bright laser light source that can last up to 30,000 hours. Unlike RGB lasers that may produce a speckle effect, the Mars prioritizes the comfort of viewers and a speckle-free experience to take home entertainment and movie nights to another level.

Frontier Remains As Sole Exaflop Machine on TOP500 List

Increasing its HPL score from 1.02 Eflop/s in November 2022 to an impressive 1.194 Eflop/s on this list, Frontier was able to improve upon its score after a stagnation between June 2022 and November 2022. Considering exascale was only a goal to aspire to just a few years ago, a roughly 17% increase here is an enormous success. Additionally, Frontier earned a score of 9.95 Eflop/s on the HLP-MxP benchmark, which measures performance for mixed-precision calculation. This is also an increase over the 7.94 EFlop/s that the system achieved on the previous list and nearly 10 times more powerful than the machine's HPL score. Frontier is based on the HPE Cray EX235a architecture and utilizes AMD EPYC 64C 2 GHz processors. It also has 8,699,904 cores and an incredible energy efficiency rating of 52.59 Gflops/watt. It also relies on gigabit ethernet for data transfer.

LG Quietly Launches the UltraGear 27GR75Q-B QHD Gaming Monitor

LG has launched what appears to be something of a budget model in its UltraGear range of gaming monitors in the shape of the UltraGear 27GR75Q-B. What we're looking at is a 2560 x 1440 resolution display with a refresh rate of up to 165 Hz, which not so long ago would've made this a premium product in the 1440p monitor segment. However, taking a closer look at the specifications, it's pretty clear that this is more of a budget model, as it only supports HDR10 and has a typical brightness of 300 nits and a minimum brightness of a mere 240 nits. You still get an IPS panel at least, although we're not sure how LG can claim it has a 1 ms grey to grey response time, as that's not something commonly found in IPS displays.

Other gaming features include FreeSync Premium and G-Sync Compatible support and LG's various gaming features, such as black stabilizer, dynamic action sync and an OSD feature that allows you to add a crosshair. Connectivity consists of two HDMI ports which top out at 144 Hz and one DP 1.4 port that tops out at 165 Hz, as well as a 3.5 mm audio jack. The monitor is at least fairly power efficient with a maximum power draw of 48 W and a typical power consumption of 45 W. The stand supports tilt, height and pivot adjustment. We found the UltraGear 27GR75Q-B listed for sale in Hong Kong for around US$250, confirming that this is indeed a more budget friendly option from LG.

Different from watching on a normal TV, the dedicated light, rich color and crystal sound of the Emotn N1 provide viewers with more immersion and a cozy vibe. The Emotn N1 comes with a remote control that features hotkeys for the three main video services - Netflix, Prime Video and YouTube - allowing consumers to access their go-to apps with a single press.

LG Launches the UltraGear OLED With 240 Hz Refresh Rate

The first flat OLED gaming monitor is here and it's unsurprisingly from LG and part of its UltraGear range of gaming products and goes under the model name 27GR95QE-B. Although it's being touted as a 27-inch display, the screen size is only 26.5-inches, which is a bit unusual. The resolution is 2560 x 1440, with a pixel pitch of 110.8 PPI and the refresh rate goes up to 240 Hz. The OLED panel is capable of delivering 1.07 billion colours and delivers a colour gamut of 98.5 percent of the DCI-P3 standard. LG claims the display has a GtG response time of 0.03 ms which is so far unheard of on a consumer display. LG doesn't supply a brightness rating, nor does the UltraGear OLED appear to have any kind of HDR certification, but supports HDR10, although considering it's an OLED panel, this shouldn't be much of a concern.

There's support for FreeSync Premium and VRR, with the display being G-Sync compatible as well. Other gaming related features include the typical things you'd find on most gaming displays today, such as an FPS counter, a built in crosshair and of course some RGB lighting features. Connectivity wise the UltraGear OLED comes with two unspecified HDMI ports and one unspecified DisplayPort input, as well as one upstreams USB 3.0 port (Type-B) and two downstreams USB 3.0 ports (Type-A). The monitor also has an S/PDIF out and a headset jack, which suggests that it does audio over USB. Finally there's a barrel plug for the 19 V power brick. The display also has support for DTS HP:X where HP stands for headphones, but there are no built in speakers. The stand supports tilt, height, swivel and pivot adjustments and can be adjusted up to 11 cm in height. LG is asking US$999.99 for the UltraGear OLED, which might be a bit more than what most people would be willing to pay for it, but it's at least a first step towards a range of new OLED gaming monitors.

AMD Ryzen 6000 "Rembrandt" Mobile Processors Pack Next-Gen Connectivity: Leak

AMD is planning to crash Intel's big 12th Gen Core "Alder Lake-P" mobile processor launch with its own next-gen launch, the Ryzen 6000 mobile processor series. These chips are the company's first built on the TSMC N6 (6 nm) silicon fabrication process, and combine up to 8 "Zen 3+" CPU cores, with a next-generation iGPU based on the RDNA2 graphics architecture. The company has given the Media CoreNext and Video CoreNext engines incremental updates, according to a leaked slide scored by VideoCardz.

Ryzen 6000 "Rembrandt" processors come with hardware-accelerated decode of the AV1 video format. The Display CoreNext (display I/O engine) now supports DisplayPort 2.0, complete with DSC, UHBR10, HDR10+, and variable refresh-rate. The HDR pipeline has awareness for the various display panel types, including OLED and mini-LED. The iGPU on "Rembrandt" features up to 12 compute units (768 stream processors). It remains to be seen if Ray Accelerators are featured, as that would make this the first iGPU (on the PC platform) with DirectX 12 Ultimate support.

XGIMI LIMITED, a leading global projection equipment manufacturer, today announced the launch of a new 4K ultra short-throw laser projector, the Aura. As XGIMI's first laser projector, the Aura is aiming to become the new living room centerpiece, claiming the throne that has been held for decades by traditional television sets. The Aura is now available globally on the XGIMI websiteThe XGIMI Aura is a forward-thinking way for anyone to enjoy music, movies, shows and games in their home using ultra short-throw technology to project images at up to 150 inches, while only being inches away from the screen. Aura features a smooth Android TV 10 user interface that has the ability to run streaming services like Disney+ and Amazon Prime, without the need for external hardware. To make watching content even easier, the Aura has built-in Chromecast functionality for seamless content casting and features three HDMI ports for external devices like game consoles, cable boxes and Blu-Ray players.

All that compatibility doesn't mean a thing if images don't look great, and the XGIMI Aura has put those fears to rest while also offering a stylish design, luxurious look and feel. The Aura is capable of projecting at 4K and HDR10 resolutions with screen sizes of up to 150 inches while also adding low latency image processing capabilities. The Aura projector is powered by 2400 ANSI lumens of brightness, meaning crisper whites, darker and richer blacks and colors that pop. Thanks to the Aura's impressive ultra short-throw technology, the projector only needs to be a little over eight inches away from the screen to get the full 100" display, a size which most TVs could never match. That level of immersion is practically magical.

ASUS Intros TUF Gaming VG30VQL1A Curved Ultrawide Gaming Monitor

ASUS today rolled out the TUF Gaming VG30VQL1A, a curved ultrawide gaming monitor that's closely related to the VG28UQL1A the company released in August 2021. As its name suggests, this one is a 30-inch. It comes with some impressive specs, including a 1500R curvature, 2560 x 1080 pixels native resolution, 1 ms MPRT response time, 200 Hz refresh-rate, ELMB, AMD FreeSync Premium, and HDR10, covering 127% of the sRGB palette. It uses a VA panel, and its other specs include 300 cd/m² maximum brightness, 3000:1 static contrast-ratio, and flicker-free brightness adjustments. Display inputs include two HDMI 2.0 ports, and a DisplayPort 1.2a. A 2-port USB 3.0 hub makes for the rest of it. The company didn't reveal pricing.

ViewSonic Launches 28-inch 150 Hz 4K Monitor with PS5 Support

ViewSonic's new VX2882-4KP seems to be the 4K gaming monitor for those looking for a no-nonsense design, as it could be mistaken for a Dell office monitor. That said, not everyone is keen on the over the top designs some gaming monitors of late have featured, so it's nice to see something a bit more normal here, especially for those that use their PC for more than just gaming.

Unfortunately the only stand-out spec is the 150 Hz refresh rate, which lands somewhere between most 144 Hz 4K monitors and the two or three that can do 160 Hz. It's not an overclock setting in this case, as it's the official refresh rate of the VX2882-4KP. ViewSonic went for an IPS panel here, although it only has a brightness of 300 nits, which is not as impressive as much of its competition, neither is the HDR10 rating.

BenQ Launches a Pair of Portable Projectors With Android TV Support

BenQ might not be your first choice of consumer electronics, but the company keeps churning out some interesting products and its new GV30 and GS50 portable projectors are adding some new features to an already crowded market. First of all, both models have integrated 2.1 speakers and although we doubt you're going to get a cinema level experience from these speakers, it's much better than most of its competitors.

More interestingly, both projectors come with Android TV support, which in itself might not be very unique, but the way BenQ has added this support is unique, as far as we know. It's done via BenQ's QS01 Android TV dongle, which is neatly integrated into the projectors via a hidden compartment. This way it's possible to upgrade the "smarts" once the hardware gets updated or stops receiving updates, a feature we'd like to see on the so called smart TV's out there. The QS01 dongle is based on an unspecified Amlogic SoC, paired with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of eMMC, has dual band 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 and is running Android TV 9.0.

Huawei Readies Unorthodox 3:2 Aspect-Ratio 32-inch Monitor with 4.5K Resolution

Huawei is reportedly preparing an unconventional high-resolution monitor under its MateView brand. Featuring an aspect-ratio of 3:2, the monitor is wider than 4:3 or 5:4, but "taller" than 16:9 or ultrawide ratios. The monitor features an "IPS-like" panel with 4500 x 3000 pixels native resolution, support for 10-bpc color (1.07 billion colors), and a refresh-rate of 90 Hz. You also get DisplayHDR 400 and HDR10 support. Pulling something like this off will presumably take inputs such as HDMI 2.1 or DisplayPort 1.4 to muster the bandwidth needed for 4500 x 3000 @ 90 Hz with 10-bpc. A nifty feature with this monitor is its stand, which doubles up as a Qi-compatible wireless charging pad. Huawei is reportedly preparing to launch this monitor on May 16.
