Lenovo's AMD-Powered IdeaPad S206 Laptop Gets a Video Tour

Announced back in January, at CES 2012, the IdeaPad S206 11.6-inch laptop is moving closer to its release date so its maker, Lenovo, has made a nice little video for it to entice potential buyers. The S206 features a 20.7 mm thick metallic casing, an AccuType keyboard, an AMD dual-core APU, a 0.3-megapixel webcam, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, the Quick Start 'instant on' function, and a battery allowing for up to 4 hours of operation.

Lenovo’s IdeaPad U300e Ultrabook Goes On Sale

Announced last month at CES, the IdeaPad U300e 13.3-inch ultrabook has now become available through Lenovo's online shop. The U300e is just 0.7" thin, it runs Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit), and has a one-piece aluminum shell, a breathable keyboard (using Intel's Advanced Cooling Technology), an LED-backlit (1366 x 768) display, a glass touchpad, and BIOS-embedded anti-theft protection.

The model put up for order by Lenovo (269224U) packs a 1.6 GHz Core i5-2467M CPU, Intel HD 3000 graphics, 4 GB of RAM, a 500 GB HDD and a 32 GB SSD, a 1.3 MP webcam, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, WiDi support, one USB 3.0 ports, a HDMI output, and a 4-cell battery providing up to 7 hours of operation. This configuration costs $959.20 (thanks to a web promotion and an eCoupon) and is available here.

Lenovo Reports Third Quarter 2011/2012 Results

Lenovo Group reported results for its third fiscal quarter ended December 31, 2011, highlighted by record highs in quarterly sales, pre-tax income and market share, and the 11th quarter in a row that Lenovo has grown faster than the industry as a whole. For the ninth quarter in a row, the Company grew faster than any of the top four PC manufacturers, a result of Lenovo's continued focus on balanced growth across all geographies, customer segments and product lines. During the third quarter, Lenovo recorded its highest-ever worldwide market share of 14.0* percent, and its highest-ever market share in China of 35.3 percent, an increase of 3.7 and 3.1 share points year-over-year respectively.

During the third fiscal quarter Lenovo's pre-tax income increased 59 percent year-over-year, to a record high of US$192 million.

Lenovo Debuts the IdeaPad Y470p 14-inch Laptop

A quick glance over Lenovo's web shop will confirm the availability of a new IdeaPad laptop, a model called Y470p which features a 14-inch (1366 x 768) LED-backlit display, a 2.2 GHz Core i7-2670QM processor, 8 GB of RAM, an AMD Radeon HD 7690 1GB discrete graphics card, a 750 GB hard drive, and a DVD writer.

Lenovo's mobile PC also has JBL stereo speakers, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, a 2.0 megapixel webcam, a HDMI output, and a 6-cell battery. The IdeaPad Y470p is backed by a one-year warranty and costs as low as $799 (thanks to a special offer).

Lenovo IdeaPad U300s Up For Pre-Order, Already Back-Ordered

Lenovo put its IdeaPad U300s ultrabook up for pre-order on its company online store. Soon enough, many buyers found themselves to have back-ordered it. The initial few waves of orders got December 19 as the expected shipment date, the rest will have to wait for at least another few weeks. Not only is the U300s back-ordered, but it's also that the winter break is falling in between that period. The only model available for orders is a 13.3-inch one powered by Intel Core i7 ULV processor, with up to 4 GB of memory and 256 GB of SSD storage. The fact that this $1999 model is being sold at a sweet web-price of $1499 could be driving the rush.

Lenovo Intros IdeaPad S10-3 Netbook Powered by Intel Atom N550

Following Intel's announcement of the new Atom N550 dual-core processor, Lenovo is one of the first to be out with an IdeaPad netbook model that makes use of it. The 1.50 GHz clocked Atom N550 is based on the second-generation Atom architecture. The new IdeaPad S10-3, is a 10.1 inch netbook with a display resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. The Atom N550 processor is aided by 1 GB of DDR3 memory, 250 GB of storage; and connectivity that includes 10/100 Ethernet, WiFi b/g/n, a number of USB 2.0 ports, and Bluetooth 2.1. The only removable storage device is a 5-in-1 card reader, while a 1.3 megapixel camera decks up the screen. Windows 7 Starter is the OS installed. The IdeaPad S10-3 is expected to be priced under US $500.

Lenovo Introduces IdeaPad S12 Powered by VIA Nano

Lenovo finally made the initiative to include a netbook powered by the VIA Nano processor. This IdeaPad S-12 uses the same exact name and chassis as the one powered by Intel Atom, based on i945 chipset, and exists merely as a variant in the S12 series. On the brighter side, it is priced $50 lower than its Atom-based cousin.

Its specifications include a 12-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, VIA Nano ULV 2250 processor clocked at 1.30 GHz, 1 GB DDR2 memory, VIA VX855 chipset with S3 Chrome9 HC3 integrated graphics, 160 GB of storage, and a 6-cell battery, 1.3 MP web-camera, WLAN and Ethernet, and optional Bluetooth. It comes with Windows XP SP3 pre-installed. Backed by a one-year warranty, the S12 is priced at US $449.

Lenovo's Ultra-Thin 16-inch IdeaPad Y650 Now Shipping

The long awaited Lenovo IdeaPad Y650 laptop is finally starting to ship to its soon to be proud owners. Announced at CES 2009 as the world's thinest 16-inch entertainment notebook, IdeaPad Y650 combines almost everything you'd want to have in a notebook - extremely thin and clean design with carbon fiber parts, light weight, big screen, powerful hardware and fairly low cost.

Lenovo Enters the Netbook Market With IdeaPad S10

Lenovo this morning officially started selling its first netbook, the IdeaPad S10. The ultra-portable system will compete with the latest ASUS Eee PC and MSI Wind models, offering a 10-inch LED backlit LCD screen and Intel's 1.6GHz Atom N270 processor. Two configurations of the 2.4 pound S10 will be available initially, with 512MB RAM and 80GB HDD, and with 1GB RAM and 160GB of HDD space. Lenovo will sell the first one for $399 while the beefed-up version will sell for $449.99. Papers also indicate that both models will support 2GB of RAM, so upgrading the onboard memory won't be a problem. Lenovo IdeaPad U110B, U110R Coming Soon

The Lenovo IdeaPad U110 11.1-inch ultraportable notebook is coming soon to the United States, according to product pages at J&R.

The 2.3-pound IdeaPad U110 will be available at J&R in at least two versions - the black U110B and the U110R with a red top cover. Both models feature the Intel Core 2 Duo L7500 low-voltage processor at 1.6GHz, 3GB of RAM, and a 120GB hard drive. The laptop, which is only 0.7-inch high, does not include a built-in optical drive.

According to Notebookreview.com, both versions of the laptop should feature Intel GMA X3100 integrated graphics, a 1.3-megapixel web camera, Ethernet LAN, Intel 4965AGN wireless, and Bluetooth connections, with a battery life of up to 8 hours.

Lenovo Launches New Family of IdeaPad Notebooks

Lenovo has launched three new notebooks aimed at the heart of the consumer market. The new IdeaPads are available in three models: the U110, the Y510 and the Y710. All three IdeaPad mobile devices feature Centrino technology, frameless widescreen displays, touch-sensitive control surfaces, VeriFace face recognition security feature and premium Dolby Home Theatre surround sound systems. The IdeaPad U110 is the smallest member of the family and features an 11.1" widescreen display screen backed by a red, aluminum-alloy LCD lid. The notebook weighs just 2.3 pounds and is only 0.7 inches thick. Lenovo will make a solid-state disk (SSD) optional when the notebook launches in March. The 6.4 lb, 15.4" widescreen Y510 is the middle-child and sports a textured black LCD lid. Lenovo includes a Core 2 Duo T5550 processor, 2GB of memory, a 250GB HDD, DVD+-RW drive and adds four speakers plus a subwoofer with the Y510. The Y510 will be available for purchase on January 6, 2008. The top-of-the-line 7.9 lb, 17" Y710 features hot-swappable second hard drive bay. Also included is Game Zone functionality which provides larger directional keys for gaming and four user-defined buttons and a secondary display. The Y710 also supports overclocking of the Core 2 Duo T9300 processor and includes an ATI Mobility Radeon HD2600 GPU - a Blu-ray drive is optional. Like the U110, the Y710 will be available in March. Pricing begins at $799 USD for the Y510 and $1,199 USD for the Y710. Pricing has not yet been set for the U110.
