EPIC has made available two more free games this week. One of them is the well-known, Bethesda-published and Avalanche Studios-developed Just Cause 4, which sees players diving (sometimes literally) into the open-world city of Solis. Featuring complete mayhem and a third-person gameplay perspective, the game was received to lukewarm reviews (currently stands at 68 Metacritic score) and even worse consumer reception (sitting at a not-so-pretty 4.8 user score).

The other entry is Wheels of Aurelia (developed by Santa Ragione srl), which is pitted as a "immersive road trip" through the 1970's Italian West Coast (in the coherently-named Via Aurelia). The soundtrack and experience, as well as the chance to learn some history and cultural context of 1970's Italy, should be your main expectations while diving into this game; as a gameplay experience, it seems to have left much to be desired, sitting with a Metascore of 63 and a 4.0 user score. Denuvo's protection has rapidly deteriorated in the amount of time it actually is able to protect games' first sales period, which is always argued as the most important in the shelf life for any given game launch. While the first Denuvo-protected games lasted weeks and sometimes even months before ever being cracked, the latest releases have seen rapid-fire hits from pirates.

These outcomes must seriously hamper developers' expectations on Denuvo's ability to keep their games protected. Either all developers try and move towards an always-online game system (such as Destiny 2 and some other games), or it seems that both relatively old players (Denuvo) and newcomers (Valeroa) will see their marketing departments having to contort into increasingly impossible shapes to sell their product. AMD has released today the Radeon Software Adrenalin 18.12.1 beta drivers. Overall this release merely adds support for Just Cause 4, which is set to release on December 4, 2018. While it is good to see AMD improving support for games ahead of their release, this driver offers nothing else tangible, meaning no performance boosts in other titles, changes or fixes to speak of. That said, AMD has listed a few known Issues with these drivers, such as; mouse lag on multiple displays when they are enabled but one is powered off, and Assassin's Creed: Odyssey may crash at specific locations on Windows 7 systems. Continuing the theatrics and explosions of previous entries, Square Enix has just revealed a story and gameplay trailer for the upcoming Rico-fest, version 4. Just Cause 4 will follow Rico's exploits on Solis, a "huge South American world home of conflict, oppression and extreme weather conditions" (there are more than 1,024 square kilometers on this title), as he hunts down "the truth about his past, at any costs". To do so, he'll have to defeat a high-tech, private military organization, dubbed Black Hand. Catch the trailer below as an entrée to the games' launch, scheduled for December 4th.
