Logitech Prepares New G18 Gaming Keyboard to Accompany G13

It appears that G13 won't be the only one new gaming keyboard released this year by Logitech. A pre-production sample of what's to be named Logitech G18 was also spotted sitting next to a G13 by our colleagues at Engadget China. For now we can gather information only from a single picture. There you see a rather standard keyboard design, lots of programmable G keys and other extra keys plus what's maybe the best part of this keyboard - a new color LCD display. Saitek Reborns the Eclipse Brand, Releases Eclipse III Keyboard

Although it was aquired by Mad Catz, Saitek has managed to reborn an icon among the keyboards and release the Saitek III keyboard. The third Saitek series is a sleek backlit multimedia keyboard with touch-sensitive lighting and volume controls, and adjustable, multi color backlighting shortcut keys. The backlight of the keyboard can vary in colors depending on the user's preferences. Once you made some changes to the keyboard's color or its settings they'll remain unchanged after system reboot. This USB 2.0-connected peripheral also comes with a 2-stage height adjustment and removable wrist rest increase comfort, laser-etched keys, a head phone and microphone audio ports. There is no word on pricing or availability yet.

OCZ Elixir II in Pretty Pixels

It was the beginning of July when the first Elixir keyboard from OCZ saw daylight and not long after that rumours about a second version of it started spreading. Now these rumours have been confirmed by our collegues from Fudzilla. A second keyboard named Elixir II is indeed going to be released sometime before Christmas. It will have a slim design with blue painted border lines and rubberized coated "SoftTouch" keys with a lifespan of 5 million cycles. OCZ Elixir II will weight around 600g (1.35lbs) and have only three extra keys - Internet, Email and System Power-down - in contrast to the original OCZ Elixir which has 10 tri-mode programmable macro keys. According to Fudzilla the keyboard will cost around €20-€30 and maybe even cheaper when released.

Microsoft Preparing Gamer-friendly Keyboard

Microsoft is working on a new keyboard design that features modularity of key-clusters, the model Sidewinder X6 features a modular num-cluster that can be positioned for convenience of both left and right oriented users. Additionally, A row of programmable keys for binding game macros and a "cruise control" feature that will repeat keystrokes without the need for holding down a key (like the Turbo buttons on some SNES gamepads).Expect an official announcement from Microsoft in the near future as the Sidewinder X6 is expected to launch in September at a US $80 price-point.

There is no word on price and no specific release date, although Embotec says it will debut by the end of 2007.

The mouse provides 800 dpi resolution, while the keyboard includes many hotkeys to give you quick access to common tasks.
