ZOWIE Announces Celeritas Gaming Keyboard

Being skilled at a game will only get you as far as your equipment allows. At ZOWIE GEAR we try to develop equipment that will push or completely remove these limitations, so the skills of each individual gamer can be expressed freely. Our current range of competitive gaming products includes mouse pads, headsets, mice and peripherals. We are very proud of these products, as we believe they have helped set new standards of quality and performance within the competitive gaming segment. The keyboard is a key factor in different competitive gaming titles, where response-time and the ability to move freely is essential to increase the gamers' performance. It was only a matter of time until we would put our attention on developing a keyboard; with that being said, we are extremely happy with the outcome of our new keyboard for competitive gaming.

Developing competitive gaming gear which satisfies a wide variety of gamers through different types of games such as FPS, RTS and Racing games is a challenge. To overcome the challenges, we teamed up with professional players of Counter-Strike (FPS), Starcraft (RTS) and Kartrider (Racing), in order to develop a keyboard which allows for fast and efficient usage. With special thanks to Abdisamad 'SpawN' Mohamed, Young Ho 'Flash' Lee and Ho Jun 'Ho-Jun' Moon, we introduce to you the ZOWIE CELERITAS.

Razer Announces its First Mechanical Keyboards: BlackWidow and BlackWidow Ultimate

Razer, the world's leading manufacturer of high-end precision gaming and lifestyle peripherals, today announced the Razer BlackWidow mechanical gaming keyboard engineered for gamers who demand superior tactile feedback and comfort while playing. Most mechanical keyboards in the market today are standard mechanical keyboards rebadged as gaming keyboards that feature stiff keys that cause key actuation fatigue. Such keyboards are inherently worse off for gamers as it actually decreases gameplay performance as opposed to enhancing it. As a result, most professional gamers eschew such marketing gimmicks for regular membrane keyboards.

For the past 3 years, Razer's design and engineering teams have been working on a mechanical keyboard - developed for gamers from the ground up, resulting in the Razer BlackWidow. The Razer BlackWidow features a uniquely tactile mechanical key architecture that provides each key on the keyboard with a crisp response and tactile feedback similar to a mouse click. Coupled with a unique key actuation point halfway through the full travel distance, the optimized mechanical key structure found in each of the Razer BlackWidow's keys provide for greater precision and accuracy versus other traditional mechanical keyboards.

Microsoft’s SideWinder X4 Keyboard Debuts Advanced Anti-Ghosting Technology

What gamers request most is better control in-game, and today Microsoft Hardware launches the SideWinder X4 Keyboard, a keyboard designed to give gamers more control over their gaming experience with the industry's most advanced anti-ghosting technology. Developed by the Applied Sciences Group, this new technology ensures gamers' most complex key combinations will be recognized by the computer to keep the game in action. The new keyboard also offers other advanced gaming features such as macro recording, mode and profile switching, and adjustable backlighting.

The Applied Sciences Group, an interdisciplinary research and development team that works across the Microsoft Entertainment & Devices Division doing applied research for Microsoft Hardware, Microsoft Surface and Xbox 360, developed the anti-ghosting technology with gamers in mind. The advanced technology takes anti-ghosting to the next level by allowing gamers to press up to 26 keys at once. Because each key is scanned independently by the keyboard hardware, each key press is correctly detected regardless of how many other keys are being pressed at the same time. The SideWinder X4 Keyboard excels where other keyboards fail, letting users execute key combinations and taking full advantage of their skill and speed.
