Capellix is the second of Corsair's two big innovations unveiled at CES 2019, the other being the Slipstream wireless technology. Capellix is a new LED that is considerably smaller than a conventional surface-mount (SMD) RGB LED, with a volume of just 0.2 mm³ versus 2.8 mm³ of SMD LEDs. Such small sizes are achieved by stripping away the package layer of the diode, and bringing its substrate layer directly in touch with the PCB. Corsair has some big numbers to speak for Capellix.

A Capellix LED, according to Corsair, is up to 60 percent brighter, up to 60 percent more efficient, up to 40 percent lower power-draw, and has up to 35 percent higher service life than an SMD LED. Its smaller size also lets designers place more of them in a limited PCB area, increasing the number of diodes putting out light through a silicone or acrylic diffuser, thereby increasing the "resolution" if you will, of the RGB LED embellishment. The biggest use-case of these diodes, however, would be wireless peripherals, which could benefit from the lower power draw to improve battery life. Corsair will implement Capellix across its entire lineup of RGB LED illuminated products, including memory modules, case fans, wireless gaming peripherals,

We took a detailed look at the EK-Velocity CPU waterblock recently, which was released in over 14 different combinations of top material (acetal, acrylic, nickel-plated brass), base plate (copper, nickel-plated copper), and even specific RGB and non-RGB versions. Part of their new "Quantum" design philosophy, today saw the addition of more versions to choose from. In particular, for those who felt having 24 RGB LEDs displaying the same color was not enough, EKWB has introduced two (each for Intel and AMD sockets) digital addressable RGB LED versions to allow for every single LED to shine a different hue.

As with the other RGB versions, these are compatible with ASUS Aura, MSI Mystic Light, Gigabyte/AORUS RGB Fusion, ASRock Polychrome Sync and other digital RGB controllers, thus allowing for a cohesive lighting ecosystem in your PC build. When we first caught the In Win 307 at this year's Computex, we were mesmerized by its front panel, which features 144 RGB LEDs in a rectangular matrix that can be programmed to work like a display. You use In Win's GLOW application to either paint what you want on it, or use it for a number of interactive functions; or simply a really groovy showpiece. The company finally got around to launch the case.

This mid-tower packs room for graphics cards up to 35 cm in length, CPU coolers up to 16 cm in height, and a horizontally partitioned layout in which the smaller partition that holds the PSU is located along the top and inverted sideways. The sidewall can now hold a 360 mm x 120 mm radiator. If you're willing to sacrifice the bottom two expansion slots of your ATX motherboards, an additional 360 mm radiator can be mounted along the bottom. A 120 mm rear exhaust completes the ventilation features. Drive bays include two each of 3.5-inch and 2.5-inch. Measuring 501 mm x 238 mm x 537 mm (HxWxD), the case is made mostly of SECC steel, silicone, and tempered glass (left panel). The company didn't reveal pricing.

Earlier today we brought you the story of the Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB Lighting Enhancement kit, a $40 pair of dummy modules that fill up your vacant DIMM slots, a solution that polarized our readers to call it both genius and dumb. Thermaltake has a saner solution to fix your memory lighting woes - the Pacific R1 Plus Memory Lighting kit. This accessory latches on to your DIMM 4-slot cluster much like memory air coolers, but instead provides four LED diffusers that gives the appearance of four RGB LED illuminated modules. The best part is you can have any type of standard-height memory underneath, DDR2-thru-DDR4.

The top with four diffusers plugs into a single addressable RGB header. Each diffuser has 9 LEDs underneath, totaling 36. If you don't have an aRGB-capable motherboard, Thermaltake is also including an RGB controller module that lets you plug the kit into a USB 2.0 header and control via the company's own TT RGB Plus app. Measuring 156 mm x 51.1 mm x 43 mm (WxHxD), it weighs about 168 g. Thermaltake, the leading premium PC hardware manufacturer, unveils two Bronze-certified power supply series: SmartBX1 RGB and Smart BX1. Smart BX1 RGB covers capacities ranging from 550W to 750W while Smart BX1 is available in 450W to 750W, and both come in two different input voltage settings: 100-240V full range and 230V only.

Razer has introduced a more subdued version of their now RGB-infused mechanical keyoards. Christened the BlackWidow Lite, the new mechanical keyboard from Razer uses the same, latest iteration of the company's mechanical design, but partakes with RGB LEDs (there's simple white here for typists who want to do so in the dark) that might distract your eyes or otherwise increase strain.

The BlackWidow Lite is a tenkeyless affair with Orange switches and O-rings, which further decrease mechanical keyboards' characteristic clicks, so as to guarantee the most distraction-free typing experience whilst keeping up with the perfect feedback of mechanical keyboards. There's support for some usually gaming-focused features such as 10KRO (ten key roll-over), anti-ghosting, and programmable on-the-fly macro recording. The USB cable is also braided and detachable so it is portable. The BlackWidow Lite is now available for £99.99; comes with a 2-year warranty; and there are some accessories available in the form of an ergonomic padded rest (£19.99) and a travel bag (£29.99).

Continuing on its streak of releasing slimline 120 mm fans, SilverStone rolled out the FW124-ARGB. This 120 mm spinner is 15 mm thick instead of the usual 25 mm, leaving you with more room in SFF cases. The fan features the same 9-blade impeller design with blade-integrated guide-vanes as the FN124 from last week; but backs it with a more premium fluid-dynamic bearing instead of sleeved. The impeller is made of frosted, translucent polycarbonate instead of opaque black, because it has to diffuse the six addressable RGB LEDs studded in the impeller hub. These LEDs take in standardized 3-pin addressable RGB input. The motor is more advanced, and takes in 4-pin PWM input instead of 3-pin DC. The fan spins between 800 to 2,000 RPM, while pushing 13.1 to 32.6 CFM of air-flow, with a proportionate noise output ranging between 14.7 to 24.6 dBA. The fan is rated for 50,000 hours of life. The company didn't reveal pricing.

DeepCool expanded the GamerStorm Castle RGB line of AIO liquid CPU coolers that feature addressable RGB LEDs, with the new Castle 360 RGB. As its name suggests, the cooler mates a 360 mm x 120 mm radiator with the cylindrical pump-block characteristic of this series, which features dual ceramic bearings for the pump assembly, and a circular RGB LED diffuser along the top plate. The rest of the pump-block's body is finished in matte-black with diamond-cut edges.

A trio of 120 mm fans with addressable RGB LED illumination and rubberized frame edges comes included. These fans each take 4-pin PWM input, spin between 500 to 1,800 RPM, pushing up to 69.34 CFM of air, with a noise output of up to 30 dBA. The pump-block as well as fans feature both an included preset-based lighting module, but also fully support standardized addressable RGB input, letting you control them via motherboard software such as Aura Sync, Mystic Light, RGB Fusion, Polychrome, and VividLED. The GamerStorm Castle 360 RGB is among the rare few coolers that support both AMD TR4 and Intel LGA2066, in addition to AM4 and LGA115x. Available now, the DeepCool GamerStorm Castle 360 RGB is priced at 180€ (including taxes).

Deepcool is expanding their Matrexx 55 series of cases with the Matrexx 55 ADD-RGB 3F and Matrexx 55 ADD-RGB. Both cases will offer addressable RGB LEDs and come pre-programmed with five lighting functions including; static, comet, breathing, dynamic color, and fashion collision. They even include an ADD-RGB lighting strip in the front for good measure. Controlling all of these RGB LEDs is done via a built-in button on the I/O panel, however, users also have the ability to control the LEDs via software such as; ASUS Aura Sync and MSI Mystic Light among others. Finally, to make matters easier on consumers Deepcool has also made sure to support the universal 5 volt 3-pin RGB connector in conjunction with the proprietary GamerStorm RGB connector.

Unlike the original Matrexx 55 case, both of these new models now feature a power supply shroud giving them an upgraded internal appearance. In regards to differences between the ADD-RGB and ADD-RGB 3F, there is only one and that is the three CF120 ARGB fans included with the 3F model. The ADD-RGB base model has no fans pre-installed. Other than what has been covered, all three Matrexx 55 cases are essentially the same from a base design perspective with all of them using the same internal layout. All three still use the same two 4 mm tempered glass side panels along with the same magnetic dustproof net on top and dust filters in the front and bottom. Availability is expected in November with the Matrexx 55 ADD-RGB 3F costing $75 and the Matrexx ADD-RGB costing $50.

The ErgoDox EZ Shine remains one of the most impressive keyboards I have laid my hands on even to this date, and it appears that the company has not been resting either. They introduced new switch options following that review, re-worked their graphical configurator, and then decided to adopt the replaceable switch functionality that enthusiasts were asking for- something that allowed end users to customize the keyboard from a hardware basis by having the exact switch on the exact position one wanted to complement the already rich software customization.

Today, ErgoDox EZ announced their new pre-assembled keyboard the ErgoDox EZ Glow. It builds upon their "change-it-yourself" model by retaining switch customization and adds in backlighting such that the LEDs are on the PCB and not part of the switch itself. It is 2018 after all, so the Glow uses RGB LEDs that also have full QMK support for static and dynamic lighting effects. In order to get this to fruition, the company worked with Tai-Hao to get new doubleshot-injected keycaps in white or black to support the two color schemes, and in the same custom profile to allow user configuration as before. Not all the keys are backlit, as seen in the images below, which makes sense given only those with legends on the keycaps need to be so. The ErgoDox EZ Glow is up for pre-order at $299, with shipping beginning November, 2018.

Cooler Master releases the MasterFan 120 mm, 120 mm 3-pack, and 140 mm Addressable RGB fans. Users can now upgrade their case and liquid coolers with the new Addressable fans.

In a recent live stream, MSI gave a sneak peek at their next generation of motherboards. The first one shown was a new red and black themed Gaming Plus model reminiscent of the early days in the MSI Gaming brand. It features a few quality of life improvements one of which is an enlarged PCIe latch making GPU removal a bit easier in cramped environments or when you happen to have a beefy air cooler. Keep out zones were also highlighted on the back of the motherboard giving users a visual cue to make sure other components, standoffs, screws etc do not come into contact with those particular regions. Furthermore, they also included an angled slot in the board's design for easier access to both the SATA ports and USB 3.0.

LG unveiled their new UltraGear lineup of desktop, gaming-oriented monitors, which bring top of the line features for gamers. The monitors both feature a 34" diagonal and a 3440x1440 resolution. They both feature a 21:9 aspect ratio; brightness is left at a relatively sparse 400 nits (with VESA's DisplayHDR standard compliance) and static contrast only reaches 1000:1. The G-Sync panel (UltraGear 34GK950G-B) offers up to 120 Hz refresh rates with 4 ms GtG response times (via overclocking, only 100 Hz out-of-the-box), while the FreeSync 2 monitor (34GK950F-B) brings that up a notch to 144 Hz with 5 ms GtG response times.

The usage of nanoparticles applied to the screen's LED backlighting serves to absorb excess light wavelengths and improve intensity, purity, and accuracy of the on-screen colors - LG claims that both LCDs can display 1.07 billion colors while covering 98% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. There's ULMB support for the NVIDIA monitor and a similar technology for the FreeSync 2 display; LG's proprietary DAS (Dynamic Action Sync) which follows TV's Game Mode to cut post-processing of images to reduce lag; and there are brightness presets according to game types (FPS, RTS) for the G-Sync panel, while the FreeSync 2 features a black stabilizer tech.

We broke into the Computex show-floor to grab some of the first pics of BitFenix Fujin, the company's upcoming mid-tower case. The case features a horizontally-partitioned layout, with the bottom compartment being almost entirely enclosed when accessed from the left side-panel, except for a small cutout toward the front (so you can have a thick and tall radiator lining the front-panel). The left side is covered by tempered glass panel. The case features mounts for up to two 360 mm x 120 mm or 280 mm x 140 mm radiators (one each along the front and top panels).

The front is characterized by a fine mesh, and an RGB LED diffuser along the top (near the front-panel connectivity). The RGB stips you see inside are just part of the demo build. BitFenix will include an RGB LED-lit 120 mm rear fan. Storage options include two each of 2.5-inch mounts, and 3.5-inch trays (which can hold 2.5-inch drives). There is a generous 20-25 mm crawlspace behind the motherboard tray, so let you wrestle with your cables. When it hits the shelves, this case will be priced around 69€ or $79.
