NVIDIA just yesterday made a big announcement and forced everyone to turn their head and check out what are they doing. Today, we are finding the first listings of Add-In-Board (AIB) partner cards and their respective price points. Thanks to the findings of a Reddit user u/slyquick we have information about the pricing of RTX Ampere cards in the UK/EU, specifically on the Overclockers UK website. There are listed several models of AIB cards, covering the whole range of RTX 3070, 3080, and 3090. NVIDIA has officially published the UK/EU pricing of the cards with Founders Edition (FE) GeForce RTX 3070 costing $499 in the US, costing about £469. The OCUK website lists RTX 3070 AIB cards at £449 and the highest costing models are about £499.

Next up comes GeForce RTX 3080, a GPU costing $699 in the US, is being officially listed for £649 by NVIDIA. On the OCUK website pricing starts at £639, and goes as high as £848.99 for ASUS ROG Strix Gaming OC card. The bigger brother of the RTX Ampere lineup - the RTX 3090 - is priced at $1499, while NVIDIA lists it at £1399 for EU/UK pricing. AIB cards are going anywhere from the NVIDIA FE card at £1,399, all the way up to at £1589.99. This is a big markup compared to the FE model, however, AIB cards are known for providing better cooling solutions and better power delivery circuit.

Ian "8Pack" Parry is proud to announce his latest extreme machine, the Supernova XL. Available in extremely limited quantities, through closed auction, this elusive processor is so exclusive it isn't even listed on the official Intel Ark database. The i9-9990XE is a 14 core processor, with a 4.0 GHz base clock pulling 255W TDP, it's capable of hitting a 5.0 GHz boost clock across all cores - straight out of the box. Cooled by a custom water-loop, with two dedicated radiators, the i9-9990XE is overclocked by 8Pack himself for a system that gives only world-class leading performance.

Update February 6, 2019: Our colleagues at Kitguru were able to talk more recently with Gibbo from OcUK, who now clarified there may be anywhere between 100-200 Radeon VII available in the UK at launch, and possibly more coming after that. Take all statements with a grain of salt accordingly. The original story is below.

In what could add credibility to reports of AMD's initial production batch of the Radeon VII being no more than 5,000 pieces, a representative of British PC hardware retailer Overclockers UK posted on the OCUK forums that the inventory for the UK is no more than 100 pieces. From this, OCUK has stocked up 44 cards, and a few more are on the way. In a forum post, "Gibbo" mentions that OCUK will have more than half the Radeon VII graphics cards allocated to the UK market. Sales of the card go live at14:00 BST, on the 7th of February. AMD is probably playing the Radeon VII launch close to the chest, and future production batches will be greenlit looking at how quick these 5,000-odd cards fly off the shelves.

Here are some more pictures of the Radeon RX 480 Nitro by Sapphire, which was first pictured in June. This is the company's premium RX 480 offering, featuring a custom-design PCB, and a large new-generation cooling solution. Unlike its first pictures, which showed a silver/chrome color on the metal cooler shroud; the final design features a gunmetal finish. The cooler features a dense aluminium fin-stack heatsink to which heat drawn from the GPU by copper heat pipes, is dissipated under the airflow of two 100 mm fans, which stay off when the card is idling. These fans are easily detachable, letting you clean the heatsink underneath.

The card draws power from a single 8-pin PCIe power connector, located along the rear side of the PCB, and not the usual top. The Sapphire logo along the top features RGB LED lighting, with a selection button on the PCB. The card is rumored to feature GPU clocks of up to 1350 MHz. Also featured is dual-BIOS. A back-plate runs along the entire length of the card. The card is listed for pre-order by OCUK for 249 GBP (incl VAT), a 20 GBP premium on the reference-design card.

It turns out that AMD's new "Fiji" silicon lacks HDMI 2.0 support, after all. Commenting on OCUK Forums, an AMD representative confirmed that the chip lacks support for the connector standard, implying that it's limited to HDMI 1.4a. HDMI 2.0 offers sufficient bandwidth for 4K Ultra HD resolution at 60 Hz. While the chip's other connectivity option, DisplayPort 1.2a supports 4K at 60 Hz - as do every 4K Ultra HD monitor ever launched - the lack of HDMI 2.0 support hurts the chip's living room ambitions, particularly with products such as the Radeon R9 Nano, which AMD CEO Lisa Su, stated that is being designed for the living room. You wouldn't need a GPU this powerful for 1080p TVs (a GTX 960 or R9 270X ITX card will do just fine), and if it's being designed for 4K UHD TVs, then its HDMI interface will cap visuals at a console-rivaling 30 Hz.

Under pressure from its own recently launched GeForce GTX 980 cannibalizing its $3,000 flagship GeForce GTX TITAN-Z (you can buy GTX 980 Quad-SLI at $2,200), NVIDIA could finally review its pricing, in the retail channel. The company recently reduced its price for the OEM channel, letting pre-built gaming PC manufacturers source the card at a lower price, whether those price-savings were transferred to the end-users, is a different question. To what measure NVIDIA could lower prices of the GTX TITAN-Z, is not known at this point. Retailers like OCUK were seen offering their GTX TITAN-Z cards at a slightly reduced price, last week. Across the big pond, American retailer Newegg sold-out an ASUS-branded GTX TITAN-Z for as low as US $1,500.

In the wake of GTX 980, AMD cut prices of its dual-GPU flagship product, the Radeon R9 295X2, down to $999. It's hard to imagine that competition from this card, and the GTX 980, are the only factors driving down prices of the GTX TITAN-Z in such a big way. Could NVIDIA be working on its next dual-GPU flagship graphics card already? Perhaps one based on a pair of GM204 chips, with thermal and power requirements as low as those of the GTX 690? Courtesy of a pre-order page on Overclockers UK's site we now know that Iiyama is preparing the release of an UHD (3840 x 2160 resolution) monitor. Named ProLite B2888UHSU-B1, the upcoming display makes use of a 28-inch TN panel and features a 1 ms (GTG) response time, an LED backlight, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, 300 cd/m2 brightness, built-in speakers, a 'Blue light reducer', and DVI, dual-HDMI and dual-DisplayPort inputs. To get a 60 Hz refresh rate at 3840 x 2160 you have to connect via DP, HDMI will only get you 30 Hz.

Iiyama's 28-inch gaming monitor is backed by a three-year warranty and has a pre-order price tag of £499.99 (~ 617 Euro/$842). The ProLite B2888UHSU-B1 is claimed to arrive in early July.

The 8 GB variant of Sapphire's Radeon R9 290X Vapor-X graphics card, which made headlines last month, reached European shores, with leading retailers taking orders. Designed for those attempting dual- or triple-display setups using Ultra HD monitors, the card features 8 GB of memory across the GPU's 512-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface, double that of the standard memory amount. It also features a factory overclock, of 1060 MHz core, and 5.60 GHz memory. The card looks otherwise identical to Sapphire's R9 290X Vapor-X series graphics cards. For those on the Isles, the card is stocked up at OCUK for £599.99 (incl. VAT), and for those on the old continent, Caseking.de has it priced at 729.90€ (incl. taxes).

If these performance numbers posted by credible reviewers at OCUK hold up, then AMD could have a second, more affordable graphics card for you, which outperforms NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 780, at least in synthetic benchmarks. In a brief performance run that spans synthetic tests, which included Unigine Heaven 3.0 at 1080p and 1440p resolutions, with normal level of tessellation; 3DMark 11 (performance preset) and 3DMark Fire Strike (both Normal and Extreme); the card we believe to be R9 290 (name blurred out in the graphs) is consistently faster than the GeForce GTX 780 reference, in the same bench.

Based on the same 28 nm "Hawaii" silicon as the Radeon R9 290X, the R9 290 is its more affordable sibling, featuring 2,560 Graphics CoreNext stream processors, 160 TMUs, 64 ROPs, and a 512-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface, holding 4 GB of memory. It features clock speeds of 947 MHz (core), and 5.00 GHz (memory, GDDR5-effective). There's no word on pricing, but it could be available from the 31st of October, 2013.

The modding and custom water cooling scene has never been a particularly stable or reliable medium to build a business in and around of, with its intrinsically superfluous character making it a particularly risky bet for a start-up of any sort, and indeed a losing bet for very many of those who did bite the bullet, invested the money and delivered the goods, but failed to capitalize on what can best be described as a frivolous demand. Here are the first pictures of KFA2 GeForce GTX 680 Hall of Fame (HOF) Edition, an exclusive to markets KFA2, Galaxy's Europe brand, has a presence in. British retailer Overclockers UK listed the card for pre-order, it goes for £529.99, including VAT (US $854). The card features non-reference PCB and cooling assembly, its PCB dons a white color, which sets it apart from every other GTX 680 graphics card. The GeForce GTX 680 GPU is accompanied by 2 GB of GDDR5 memory across a 256-bit wide memory interface. The GPU is overclocked out of the box, with base core speed of 1202 MHz, boost core speed of 1267 MHz, and memory speed of 1502 MHz (6008 MHz GDDR5 effective).

The PCB implements bleeding-edge voltage regulation circuitry, that includes CPL-made single-phase chokes, International Rectifier DirectFET, and tantalum capacitors - stuff that's fit for avionics. The VRM is make up of an 8+2+2 phase circuit. The card draws power from two 8-pin PCIe power connectors. A Galaxy GX31 custom controller governs the VRM, providing software voltage control, voltage monitoring and power draw monitoring over SMBUS. The cooling solution is Galaxy's proven triple-fan cooler, which has been used on older Galaxy/KFA2 graphics cards. The cooler utilizes a long aluminum fin array, to which heat is conveyed by several copper heat pipes. It is then ventilated by three 90 mm LED-lit fans. Display outputs include one standard-sized DisplayPort, and three mini-DisplayPort connectors. According to OCUK, the KFA2 GTX 680 HOF Edition will start shipping on May 11.

One of Europe's biggest retailers of enthusiast PC parts, Caseking.de, has reportedly struck a deal that will see it take over Overclockers UK (OCUK). OCUK has been among Britain's biggest retailers of interest to PC enthusiasts, dealing with performance computer hardware apart from enthusiast parts (cooling, casing, accessories, etc.). This takeover will affect 40 members of staff at OCUK. The value of the final deal has not been disclosed by either side. eTeknix estimates it to be "less than €50 million". The Caseking staff we contacted refused to comment, saying they cannot comment on such internal operations. The deal is said to have been struck in early February, though both companies are keeping mum about it, perhaps waiting for the right moment to make the big announcement.
