ViewSonic has revealed a new 15.6-inch 4K OLED portable display, model name VX1622-K, to the Chinese public as reported by IT Home last week. It is capable of displaying a 60 Hz refresh rate, and can reach 440cd/㎡ maximum brightness, alongside a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1. Screen responsive is really good with a 1 ms measured rating. Visual professionals/creative-types should be happy with the display's 100% Adobe RGB and DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, although there is a "TBD" marker next to this information on the spec sheet. Color depth is rated at 1.07 billion colors (8-bit + FRC) and settings can provide an HDR True Black 500 standard. Nex Computer Launches NexPad: A Portable Monitor That Can Be Stacked on Top of a Laptop Screen

Nex Computer LLC announced today the launch of NexPad: a portable monitor with built-in magnets that can attach to laptops for vertical dual-screen setup. Research shows that using dual monitors boosts productivity. However, using side-by-side monitors isn't always optimal because of the large gap between the monitors, diminishing the view. The side-by-side setup also spans outside of people's peripheral vision which can lead to neck strain.

NexPad's solution is a second display at an elevated height that can reduce neck strain and help improve posture, boosting productivity and convenience. "We are launching NexPad to enable the modern professional to be more productive in the ever more mobile workplace," said Emre Kosmaz, CEO and founder of Nex Computer. "Professionals in any industry can now enjoy the additional screen space to free themselves from the traditional desk setups by embracing flexibility and efficiency offered by NexPad."

ASUS Intros ZenScreen OLED MQ16AH Portable Monitor

ASUS today introduced the ZenScreen OLED MQ16AH, a 15.6-inch portable monitor, which is a generational update to the ZenScreen MB14AC it launched back in 2020. Unlike its LED-backlit IPS-based predecessor, the MQ16AH uses an OLED panel, with Delta E <2, 100% DCI-P3 coverage, 10-bit (1.07 billion colors), HDR-10, 100,000:1 contrast-ratio, and 360 cd/m² brightness, which can peak up to 400 cd/m². The display offers Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) native resolution, with 60 Hz refresh-rate, and 1 ms (GTG) response time. Display inputs include mini-HDMI (with a mini-to-standard HDMI cable), and two USB-C cables. If you use the HDMI, one of these has to be plugged in to a power source (included power brick); or if you use USB-C (with DP passthrough), that meets PD 20 W, a single cable can be used for both power and input. Measuring 358.7 mm x 226.15 mm x 8.95 mm (WxHxD), it weighs 650 g. The company didn't reveal pricing.

AOC Announces I1601P 15.6" USB Portable Monitor

AOC expands its portfolio of portable monitors with the new I1601P. Portable screens are an easy solution for extending a single monitor set-up to a multi-monitor solution, whether on the go, at work or in the small home office. The 15.6" (39.5 cm) I1601P is compact and similar in size to laptop displays. The I1601P features Full HD resolution and IPS panel technology to produce rich colors and sharpness and wide viewing angles (170/170°). It can be connected via both USB-A and USB-C input, all thanks to the single cable solution (cable included in the box).

Whether working from home or in an office, a second screen boosts productivity by effectively doubling the workable screen real estate. For many it has become obvious that working on a single screen, such as a laptop display impedes workflows by causing a cluttered and overloaded work space. Of course, this also applies when working on the go. Users accustomed to working with two displays at their office desk will demand the same productivity increase also on the road, on the train or an airplane, or in the field.
