ADLINK Launches New IMB-C Value Series ATX Motherboards

ADLINK Technology Inc., a global leader in edge computing, and a global supplier of industrial PCs and motherboards, announces the launch of the new IMB-C Value Series of ATX motherboards, extending the IMB series motherboard range with new, more affordable, options for users seeking high-performance at a lower price point. The IMB-C value series comes with processor options ranging from Gen 10 to Gen 14 Intel Core i9/i7/i5/i3 and includes features such as 2.5 Gbe, PCIe 4.0, DDR4, and USB 3.0, to suit applications in warehousing, industrial automation, smart manufacturing, and new energy.

The IMB-C series expands the IMB ATX motherboard range, providing a cost-effective alternative to the high-performance IMB-M series. Tailored for budget-sensitive projects without sacrificing essential features, the IMB-C models support DDR4 and PCIe 4.0, catering to applications that require solid performance with cost efficiency. Conversely, the IMB-M series is designed for top-tier performance, supporting DDR5 and PCIe 5.0, ideal for cutting-edge industrial use. The IMB-C series offers a comprehensive portfolio from Intel's 10th to 14th gen processors. Specifically, the IMB-C46 and IMB-C46H models come equipped with the Q470 and H420E chipsets respectively, optimized for 10th Gen Intel Core processors. Meanwhile, the IMB-M47 with the Q670 chipset, and the IMB-M47H with the H610 chipset, both support the 12th to 14th gen Intel Core processors, aligning with advanced system requirements and higher performance expectations.

Portwell Builds Intel Xeon Motherboard with 20 USB Ports

Have you ever felt the need that your motherboard needs more ports? Different peripherals can occupy quite a lot of USB ports and almost fill up all of them quickly. That is where the Portwell PEB-9783G2AR motherboard comes into play. Being built on Intel's latest W480E/Q470E chipset designed to accommodate any 10th generation 10 core CPU with a TDP of up to 80 W, the board can run either a Xeon W CPU or regular Comet Lake-S Core CPU. However, what makes this board unique is not its chipset or anything, it is the number of USB ports present.

Portwell has put an astonishing 20 (you read that right) USB 3.1 Gen1 ports on the board, which you can run at a full 5 Gbit/s data signaling rate at the same time. The board doesn't use any splitting technology so you are getting the full bandwidth. To get that many ports to run at full capacity, Portwell has presumably re-routed chipset lanes for SATA 3 connectors and used them for USB ports, leaving only two SATA 3 ports. The board is built for the FlexATX form factor and features a sideways PCIe 3.0 port. Being built for Xeon, the board also features support for ECC memory and up to 128 GB of it. While the pricing is not yet available, you can get a quote on Portwell's website.

AMD Readies PRO565 Desktop Chipset

AMD is readying the PRO565 desktop motherboard chipset. Mention of the chipset surfaced in screenshots of the latest AMD CBS (common BIOS settings) lists of an ASRock motherboard, unearthed by Komachi Ensaka. Not much else is known about the AMD PRO 565. We expect it to be the key component of a business platform rivaling the Intel Q470, enabling several large business-relevant management features. AMD is making efforts to rival Intel vPro, as seen with its Ryzen 4000 Pro series mobile processors targeted at commercial notebooks with quasi-enterprise features. AMD's current crop of Ryzen PRO processors features GuardMI. It's likely that AMD will crystallize its "PRO" feature-set further with the PRO565 possibly enabling new features with the Ryzen PRO 3000 series desktop processors, or their "Renoir" based successors.

ASRock Industrial Announces a Broad Range of 10th Gen Intel Core Motherboards

ASRock Industrial Computer Corporation, the world's leader in Industrial PC motherboards, unveils a broad range of industrial motherboards powered by the Intel 10th Generation Core Processors (Comet Lake-S) with up to 10 Cores and supporting Intel 400-series Q470E, H420E, and W480E chipsets. Featuring improved multi-threaded computing performance and rich I/O functionality, ASRock Industrial's new series of product lineup covers comprehensive form factors, including industrial Mini-ITX, Micro-ATX, and ATX motherboards, are ideal for diverse applications, such as industrial automation, retail kiosks, digital signage, and AIoT solutions.

ASRock Industrial introduces the industry's first Intel 10th Gen Core Processors Industrial Motherboards with Q470E chipset, including the IMB-1220-L/IMB-1220-D and IMB-1222/IMB-1222-WV Mini-ITX motherboards, the IMB-1313 Micro-ATX motherboard and the IMB-1711 ATX motherboard. For value and cost-effective options, there are also new Mini-ITX motherboards with H420E chipset, the IMB-1221-L/IMB-1221-D comes with high-rise IO and the IMB-1223/IMB-1223-WV with thin IO.

Intel Xeon vPro and Core E "Comet Lake" Lineup Surfaces

Remember DFI? Those guys are into industrial PCs and embedded systems these days, and put out data sheets of upcoming products implementing the new Intel W480 chipset. A possible step-up from Intel Qx70 series chipset family, the W480 is positioned between the Q470 and Z490, and enables certain quasi-workstation features relevant to client desktops in very big organizations. The chipset enables vPro, and certain other features that helps with remote management.

The DFI specs, without taking model numbers, names several kinds of upcoming Xeon vPro and 10th generation Core E-SKUs. Among these are Xeon vPro processors in core-counts of 10, 8, and 6; and TDP levels of 80 W, and 35 W. It's not known if the 10th gen Xeon vPro succeed the workstation-segment Xeon E-series, which typically don't work on client-segment chipsets. We also see an assortment of Core i9, Core i7, Core i5, Core i3, Pentium and Celeron processors with the "E" brand extension, across a variety of TDP options. Unless we're horribly mistaken, the "E" brand extension could denote ECC memory support, at least in the case of the W480E and Q470E chipset variants.

Dozens of GIGABYTE Intel 400-series Chipset Motherboards Show Up at the EEC

Intel is inching closer to the launch of its socket LGA1200 mainstream desktop platform based on its 400-series chipset and 14 nm "Comet Lake-S" silicon. The platform provides a forward upgrade path to the company's 10 nm "Ice Lake-S" processors when they come out. "Comet Lake-S" is a derivative of the "Skylake" microarchitecture that's been scaled up to 10 CPU cores, and HyperThreading enabled across the board, with clock speeds pushed to the limits of the 14 nm silicon fabrication process. The TDP of some of these parts is reportedly set as high as 125 W. GIGABYTE is ready with dozens of motherboards for these processors, based on one of five chipsets - Z490, H470, Q470, B460, and H410.

The Intel Z490 Express will be the top-end chipset geared toward gamers and enthusiasts wanting to overclock their processors. The H470 will be a slight step down, and possibly lack multi-GPU and CPU overclocking support. The Q470 is its twin with certain enterprise-relevant features. The B460 is the mid-range chipset, targeting a spectrum of users including gamers who don't overclock their CPU. The H410 will be the entry-level chipset for everyone else. What's interesting about GIGABYTE's list of motherboards filed for regulatory clearance from the Eurasian Economic Commission, is that is looks partial. There are far too few AORUS-branded products.
