ASUS Intros ROG Gladius II Wireless Gaming Mouse

Wireless gaming mice are back in vogue as manufacturers are powering them with lightweight lithium-ion rechargeable batteries or induction current; and as gamers are beginning to care less about the added input-lag of wireless peripherals. To compete with the likes of the Logitech G Pro, which launched to generally positive reviews, ASUS launched a wireless variant of its Republic of Gamers (ROG) Gladius II. The new ROG Gladius II Wireless retains the shape, button-layout, and grip of the original Gladius II, but is wireless, lacks the bottom RGB LED diffuser, and weighs 130 g, just 20 g more than its wired sibling. It also packs a more powerful sensor.

The ROG Gladius II Wireless uses a combination of 2.40 GHz RF and low-latency Bluetooth BLE to achieve input latencies as low as 1 ms. The mouse packs a 16,000 dpi optical sensor (compared to the wired original's 12,000 dpi). At any point, if you're not sure about playing wireless, you can switch to the wired mode on the fly, by simply plugging in the included USB cable to its micro USB connector located up front. The mouse is remapped as a new device by Windows, and USB is used for both input and recharging the battery. We expect the ROG Gladius II Wireless to be competitively priced to the Logitech G Pro Wireless (around $140).

Sharkoon Announces NIGHT SHARK ATX Midi Tower Anniversary Case

Sharkoon Technologies is celebrating their 15th anniversary with a case especially made for high-end gaming hardware. The NIGHT SHARK ATX Midi Tower is the largest chassis PC case launched so far by Sharkoon. It is able to incorporate larger dual and multi-processor mainboards, graphic cards with a maximum length of 42 cm plus CPU coolers with a maximum height of 16 cm. The installed components can be clearly seen through the side panel and the case front window, both made of tempered glass. To maximize the view of all components, Sharkoon has turned its usual interior configuration on its head by placing the power supply tunnel in the top of the case. Thus, not only does the power supply fan become more visible, but also the view of all the other components are enhanced.

The NIGHT SHARK is optimized for liquid cooling. The removable HDD/SDD mounting plate in the inner side panel has special extra-long slots for the easy installation of liquid cooling reservoirs. A 240 mm or a 280 mm radiator can fit comfortably on the case front, and a 360 mm radiator can be installed on the bottom panel. A total of eight 120 mm fans, with removed HDD/SDD mounting plate, can be installed for those who prefer "classic" cooling. Instead of two 120 mm fans, two 140 mm fans can be mounted in the front of the case.

Thermaltake Intros Smart BX1 RGB Series Power Supplies

Thermaltake today introduced the Smart BX1 RGB series mid-range power supplies (PSUs). Available in 550W, 650W, and 750W variants, these PSUs bring some form of RGB LED bling to a mainstream feature-set. The star-attraction here is the 140 mm hydraulic bearing fan that's studded with ten 7-color LEDs. An internal lighting controller cycles between 7 colors, combination presets, lighting patterns, and light-off, at the push of a button near the AC receptacle (though sufficiently far from the main AC switch).

Under the hood, you get a single +12V rail design with 80 Plus Bronze efficiency, active PFC, an advertised ripple noise of <80 mV, and most common electrical protections, such as over/under-voltage, overload, overheat, and short-circuit. All three variants have enough juice and straws for a gaming PC build with 2-3 graphics cards. The 550W and 650W variants offer two 6+2 pin PCIe and six SATA power; while the 750W variant offers four PCIe with eight SATA power. All cables are fixed and flat (ribbon-type). Backed by a 5-year warranty, the Smart BX1 RGB series models are priced between $60 and $100.

GIGABYTE Z390 Aorus Elite Pictured, New Round of Branding Chaos Incoming

GIGABYTE is ready with its Z390 Aorus Elite motherboard. The name might suggest that it's the company's flagship product based on the Z390 chipset, but in reality, it's part of the company's new nomenclature that differentiates boards from different price-points. The current "Gaming 3, Gaming 5, and Gaming 7" series is going to be replaced. The cheaper "Gaming 3" extension will be replaced by "Elite." The slightly divergent "Ultra Gaming" extension gets replaced by "PRO." The mid-tier Gaming 5, on the other hand, extension is replaced by "Ultra." The high-end Gaming 7 tier is replaced by "Master," and the flagship Gaming 9 extension by XTREME. We've already seen one of these with the recent Aorus X399 XTREME TR4 motherboard.

Moving on to the product at hand, the Z390 Aorus Elite is a somewhat entry-tier product that's probably priced around the $150-mark, owing to the high chipset price and the higher CPU VRM requirements it mandates. We already count a 13-something-phase VRM (which could include phase-doubling). The "Gaming 3" extension historically lacked NVIDIA SLI support, and that carries over to the Z390 Aorus Elite. The second PCIe x16 slot on this board is electrical x4, and wired to the PCH. Storage connectivity, besides six SATA, includes two M.2 slots with x4 wiring, one of which includes a heatsink. GIGABYTE boards are known for good onboard audio implementations, and this board is no exception. It appears to have WIMA capacitors, ground-layer isolation, EMI shield over the CODEC, which very likely could be an ALC1220. USB 3.1 connectivity, including a type-C port, and 1 GbE interface driven by an i219-V could make for the rest of it. There's minimal RGB bling on board, but you'll get 2-3 aRGB headers.

PNY Reveals Their RTX 20-Series Lineup of Partner Graphics Cards

PNY has taken the lid of their RTX graphics card lineup, revealing a total of 9 (at least, for now) models that will be sold under the new graphics card lineup. For now, PNY's store only offers purchase options for the RTX 2080 Ti and RTX 2080 graphics cards, with the RTX 2070 only featuring product pages, but no pricing information.

PNY's product differentiation stands, as always, with factory overclocking and the cooling solution employed. There are two RTX 2080 Ti graphics cards - the RTX 2080 Ti 11GB Blower, which caters to the audiences that NVIDIA has left behind with their in-house designs (which now all feature a dual-fan cooling system), and the RTX 2080 Ti 11GB XLR8 Gaming Overclocked Edition ($1,299) with a triple-fan, LED-infused design. For now, there's no information on finalized clock speeds, and both cards feature NVIDIA's reference 1525 MHz core clocks on their specs listing.

Mistel Intros Vision MX Series Fanless PSUs with RGB LED Lighting

You probably know Mistel more for its physically split keyboards. The company is taking a plunge into PC power with the new Vision MX PSU series, which it had shown off at Computex 2018. This is probably the first fanless PSU with RGB LED illumination and 80 Plus Platinum-certified efficiency. Available in 550W and 650W variants for now, these units feature a very airy body design, which is needed to keep its hot innards cool. The space where a fan ought to be, is filled up with large heatsinks. It still ends up looking like you can sneak a 15 mm-thick fan in there on your own.

Mistel didn't put out finer specs of the Vision MX, but it likely features a single +12V rail design. You get full modular cabling, with enough juice and straws for a gaming PC with up to three graphics cards. Besides the 24-pin ATX, you get up to two 4+4 pin EPS, up to eight 6+2 pin PCIe connectors, a dozen SATA power, and 3 Molex connectors. The PSU features addressable RGB LED lighting across a 16.7 million-color palette. A standard 4-pin ARGB cable links the PSU to your motherboard or LED controller. The company plans to launch the higher-spec MX1000 and MX1250 later down the year, but those aren't fanless. The company didn't reveal pricing.

The elegant curves on the front and back are the first to catch your eye. Here, the back has an additional alternative, the clean cable management away from the case. The tempered glass cover can be lifted mechanically to expose the ventilation slots. Thus, the warm air can escape directly at the top with the help of up to three 140-millimeter fans. After shutting down the system, the cover closes with a 15 second delay to drain the residual heat out of the system.

The front connectors include a reversible USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port, two USB 3.0 ports and a 3.5mm headphone and microphone jack. Up to nine fans or four radiators can be accommodated in the 915. These help, following the natural convection, to create a flow of air from bottom to top in the housing. Magnetic dust filters keep the inside dust-free and can be easily removed for cleaning.

Maxsun Teases Next-gen NVIDIA GeForce Product at ChinaJoy

Maxsun may not be much of a household name in territories outside China, as the western market penetration isn't the most relevant within NVIDIA's partners. That said, the company does enjoy the status of NVIDIA AIB, so they're privy to details on next-gen products - especially when they are, allegedly, so close to a reveal and launch.

Maxsun showcased their take on NVIDIA's next generation (you can find the ending of that very word in the photo of the presentation slide) products with a 3D render of what could very well be their finalized next-gen graphics card's looks - and part of their premium, iCraft segment. The ubiquitous RGB is there, as always, pandering to the majority of users' lighting requirements. The graphics card presents a dual-slot, triple-fan solution, and there doesn't seem to be a DVI connector, nor an SLI termination, for that matter. The card also seems to have a single 8-pin power connector, and the GeForce branding is clear. Sadly, the render doesn't specify the model it pertains to - it would be great to finally have some closure on the 1100, 2000 series' debates.
