In a bid to clear inventory of its Radeon RX 6000 series RDNA2 graphics cards in the lead up to its next-generation, AMD is bundling two of the latest AAA game titles. Besides this, the company has significantly lowered prices of its RX 6000 series over several months now. The company is bundling "Dead island 2," and "The Callisto Protocol" with new purchases of Radeon RX 6000 graphics cards.

New purchases of the Radeon RX 6600, RX 6600 XT, RX 6650 XT, RX 6700, RX 6700 XT, RX 6750 XT, RX 6800, RX 6800 XT, RX 6900 XT, and RX 6950 XT, will receive both games. New purchases of the RX 6500 XT and RX 6400 will receive just "Dead Island 2." The bundle is only available in select markets, and through participating retailers. AMD has come up with new MSRPs for its Radeon RX 6000 series RDNA2 graphics cards, in a bid to better compete against NVIDIA's RTX 30-series high-end cards, as the product lifecycles of both companies draw to a close. The new price list was finalized on September 15, and is beginning to take effect in popular online retailers. The latest prices see the top Radeon RX 6950 XT at $949, and the RX 6900 XT $699. The latter offers better value, as it's within 5% of the RX 6950 XT, while being $250 cheaper. The RX 6800 XT drops to $599, which makes it $100 cheaper still than the RX 6900 XT, while being within 5% relative performance. If you can find an RX 6800 (non-XT), its MSRP is set at $549.

MSRP cuts also take effect on performance-segment and mid-range SKUs. The RX 6750 XT is now a $419 SKU, and the RX 6700 XT is just $379. Both cards perform in the league of the RTX 3060 Ti and RTX 3070, making them interesting SKUs to consider. The RX 6650 XT, which replaces the RX 6600 XT from the product stack, is priced at $299. If you can find an RX 6600 XT, it should start around the $239-mark. The entry-level RX 6500 XT and RX 6400 are finally under the $200-mark where they belong, with the RX 6500 XT going for $169, and the RX 6400 at $149. NVIDIA already debuted its RTX 40-series "Ada" graphics cards, but only at the very high-end, with the RTX 4090 expected to go on sale mid-October, at $1,600. AMD's next generation will be unveiled on November 3.

AMD formally launched the "Raise the Game" (2022) game bundle. Get up to three AAA games for free, when you buy a Radeon RX 6000 series graphics card. As described in the table below, new purchases of the Radeon RX 6700, RX 6700 XT, RX 6750 XT, RX 6800, RX 6800 XT, RX 6900 XT, and RX 6950 XT, gets you three titles—"Saints Row," "Sniper Elite 5," and "Forspoken." New purchases of the RX 6600, RX 6600 XT, and RX 6650 XT, gets you "Forspoken," and "Saints Row." An RX 6500 XT and RX 6400 gets you "Saints Row." The bundle was announced on May 10, when the company launched its Summer 2022 refresh of the RX 6000 series. At the time, qualifying retailers had already started giving out redemption codes, asking buyers to hold on to them until the bundle is released.

AMD (NASDAQ:AMD) today announced revenue for the fourth quarter of 2021 of $4.8 billion, operating income of $1.2 billion, net income of $974 million and diluted earnings per share of $0.80. On a non-GAAP basis, operating income was $1.3 billion, net income was $1.1 billion and diluted earnings per share was $0.92. For full year 2021, the company reported revenue of $16.4 billion, operating income of $3.6 billion, net income of $3.2 billion and diluted earnings per share of $2.57. On a non-GAAP basis, operating income was $4.1 billion, net income was $3.4 billion and diluted earnings per share was $2.79.

"2021 was an outstanding year for AMD with record annual revenue and profitability," said AMD President and CEO Dr. Lisa Su. "Each of our businesses performed extremely well, with data center revenue doubling year-over-year driven by growing adoption of AMD EPYC processors across cloud and enterprise customers. We expect another year of significant growth in 2022 as we ramp our current portfolio and launch our next generation of PC, gaming and data center products."

Posts throughout the Board Channels forums have begun to paint a picture of increased prices for AMD's board partners. That 10% change will reportedly translate towards a $20 to $40 effective increase. While there is no confirmation on whether or not this increase will be passed on to the final, weakest link in the chain - the customer - the current state of and prices in the graphics card market would certainly allow for this price differential to be diluted in the distribution channel.

The pricing change is expected to come into effect in one or two weeks from now, in the next shipment to board partners. This price increase marks the second such move by AMD in the span of two consecutive months; AMD had reportedly already increased board partner pricing by around 9% for the current month of November, compared to October. Reasons for the price increase are cited as either a response to the increased demand of the holiday season - no need for AMD to leave money on the table for board partners to solely pick up themselves - or due to TSMC's recent price hikes for 7 nm wafers. Interestingly, it's reported that AMD has failed to update pricing on any other of its 7 nm node products, such as Ryzen 5000 series - but the competitive and pricing landscape is completely different there.

According to the latest market pricing analysis conducted by 3DCenter, the falling GPU prices we reported two months ago are now in the midst of a reversal. The latest figures show an increase in average pricing for both AMD's RX 6000 series and NVIDIA's RTX 30-series graphics cards. The hike has been most felt on the NVIDIA camp, with average pricing increasing around 9%, while AMD graphics cards saw an increase of 6%. This places the latest pricing average for graphics cards from both companies at 59% above MSRP for NVIDIA, and 64% for AMD.

While the increase is still a far-cry from the ridiculous markups felt during the month of May (where NVIDIA graphics cards were being sold at an average 304% of their MSRP value and AMD's where going for around 202% of their MSRP), this trend reversal is a clear indicator of a continued inability to cater to the pent-up demand that's still being trickle-filled since the original release of these GPU families. And this happens despite numerous positive signals happening within the last few months, such as the crypto crackdown in China, which saw hundreds upon hundred of mining-bound graphics cards being resold towards the secondary market. Also of note for an eventual positive price action was the recent reduction in Ethereum profits for miners due to the implementation of Ethereum's EIP-1559 proposal - which has already seen 136,619 ETH being burned as a part of transactions run on the network - the equivalent of $433,768,155 at current ETH pricing. And with news that shipments of NVIDIA's RTX 3060 and 3060 Ti graphics cards will be halved throughout September, paired with a TSMC price hike for newly minted wafers, it seems that an upwards pressure on GPU pricing is inescapable.

AMD has just announced its Navi 22 RDNA 2 devices, spanning the middle-end gaming sector. The Radeon RX 6700 XT, which is the latest addition to the 6000 series of Radeon graphics cards, is carrying the Navi 22 chip inside it. However, AMD GPUs need to satisfy another sector in addition to the desktop market and that is the laptop/mobile market. With the past 5000 series of laptop GPUs, AMD has made a bit of a disappointing launch. Given the availability of the first-generation RDNA GPUs in mobile devices, many gamers were unable to find 5000 series Radeon GPUs in laptops, as it was rarely a choice. MSI and Dell have carried a few models with the Radeon RX 5500M and RX 5600M, and the highest-end Radeon RX 5700M availability was limited to Dell Alienware Area-51m R2 laptop.

During the announcement of Radeon RX 6700 XT, Scott Herkleman (CVP & GM AMD Radeon) has announced that AMD is preparing the launch of the next-generation RDNA 2 based RX 6000 series of graphics cards for mobile/laptop devices. While there should be a range of models based on Navi 22, Navi 23, and Navi 24, the availability is unknown for now. The only information we have so far is that it is "coming soon". The exact configurations of these chips remain a mystery until the launch happens, so we have to wait to find out more.

AMD has recently announced their third "When Gaming Begins" event to announce the latest addition to the Radeon RX 6000 Series. AMD unveiled the first of their Ryzen 5000 Series processors during the first When Gaming Begins event and announced the RX 6800, RX 6800 XT, and RX 6900 XT graphics cards during the second event. This third event will almost certainly be to officially unveil the Radeon RX 6700 XT and/or RX 6700 graphics cards which we have received various leaks and rumors about.

We expect the RX 6700 XT to come with 40 compute units, 2560 cores, and 12 GB 192-bit GDDR6 memory and to compete with the NVIDIA RTX 3060 Ti. The card is rumored to retail for under 250 USD however it is unknown if the card will actually be available to purchase at this price. The RX 6700 features the same 12 GB 192-bit GDDR6 memory but only includes 36 compute units and 2304 cores. AMD will likely also talk about their laptop plans and software features during the event. The third When Gaming Begins event will be live-streamed by AMD on March 3rd at 11 am ET.

Michael Driscoll, an Oracle data engineer, has written a data scraper that runs through eBay listings for the latest hardware, comparing products with their sale price. The objective was to see just how pervasive scalping actually is, and to get a (flawed and incomplete, but still extremely interesting) outlook at the scalping ecosystem and their gains with the current hardware and console shortages. Driscoll analyzed sales for the Xbox Series X|S, the PS5 (discless and disc-based) as well as NVIDIA's RTX 30-series, AMD's RX 6000 series, and Zen 3 processors. There are some assumptions on the gathering and analysis of this data, but that is part of the beast.

The results are potentially desperation-inducing. AMD's Zen 3 CPUs have sold for sometimes 240% of their MSRP (looking at the biggest offender, the Ryzen 9 5950X. The RX 6800 XT graphics card has been selling for within an inch of 200% of its MSRP as well, with a median price over the past week set at $1247 (compare that to the $649 MSRP). The RTX 3080 has been selling at 180% of its MSRP for the past week, but it has been moved at 220% of its MSRP before. The case repeats with several degrees of severity for the Xbox family and PS5 consoles.
