NVIDIA's Bryan Catanzaro Discusses Future of AI Personal Computing

Imagine a world where you can whisper your digital wishes into your device, and poof, it happens. That world may be coming sooner than you think. But if you're worried about AI doing your thinking for you, you might be waiting for a while. In a fireside chat Wednesday (March 20) at NVIDIA GTC, the global AI conference, Kanjun Qiu, CEO of Imbue, and Bryan Catanzaro, VP of applied deep learning research at NVIDIA, challenged many of the clichés that have long dominated conversations about AI. Launched in October 2022, Imbue made headlines with its Series B fundraiser last year, raising over $200 million at a $1 billion valuation.

The Future of Personal Computing
Qiu and Catanzaro discussed the role that virtual worlds will play in this, and how they could serve as interfaces for human-technology interaction. "I think it's pretty clear that AI is going to help build virtual worlds," said Catanzaro. "I think the maybe more controversial part is virtual worlds are going to be necessary for humans to interact with AI." People have an almost primal fear of being displaced, Catanzaro said, but what's much more likely is that our capabilities will be amplified as the technology fades into the background. Catanzaro compared it to the adoption of electricity. A century ago, people talked a lot about electricity. Now that it's ubiquitous, it's no longer the focus of broader conversations, even as it makes our day-to-day lives better.

ENERMAX Launches REVOLUTION D.F. 12, the World's Smallest ATX 3.1 Power Supply

ENERMAX, an industry-leading force dedicated to designing high-performance computer hardware and cooling solutions, launches its latest power supply series, the REVOLUTION D.F. 12, the world's smallest ATX 3.1 power supply with only 122 mm in-depth. This design maximizes space for airflow within PC cases while delivering robust power in line with the ATX 3.1 specifications, including up to a 235% power excursion. Equipped with a 600 W 12V-2x6 cable, the REVOLUTION D.F. 12 ensures uncompromised performance for high-end graphics cards and cutting-edge AI computing. The REVOLUTION D.F. 12 also fits seamlessly into micro ATX cases, providing ample room for efficient cable management.

Committed to sustainable computing, REVOLUTION D.F. 12 offers a highly technical power solution aimed at enhancing power conversion efficiency and reducing carbon emissions. This commitment to sustainability is further demonstrated in the product's shipping and packaging innovations. The REVOLUTION D.F. 12 features an innovative 115 mm dual-ball bearing fan with ENERMAX's patented Dust-free Rotation (D.F.R.) technology, providing a self-cleaning function and an activated switch button to enhance system longevity by minimizing dust accumulation inside the power supply. The power supply operates in fanless mode when under 50% load, ensuring complete silence at low and medium workloads. Additionally, users will be able to manually activate the D.F.R. function using the D.F.R. switch button, which can also serve as a power-on indicator.

ENERMAX Recalling Some REVOLUTION Series PSUs

ENERMAX has announced that it has noticed some "higher than normal RMA rates" on the REVOLUTION D.F. 2 and REVOLUTION D.F. X series of power supplies. After a detailed investigation, the problem was identified as a faulty fan bearing, resulting in noise caused by oil leakage.

Although not all units have that issue, to make things right, ENERMAX is doing a voluntary product replacement program for those that bought either the REVOLUTION D.F. 2 or REVOLUTION D.F. X series PSUs in 2023. New units now use industrial-grade dual ball bearings. ENERMAX will handle all the shipping, and the company has started an advanced RMA process for those that need a quicker replacement. ENERMAX was keen to note that the original warranty would remain unaffected. You can check all the replacement program links for different regions after the break.
