Acer is just about ready to roll out a slick new monitor, the 21.5-inch UT220HQL which features a VA panel with 178/178 degree viewing angles, and offers 10-point touch support. Pictured below, Acer's display features an LED backlight, a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, an 8 ms response time, a 100,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, D-Sub, HDMI and USB connectivity, and MHL capabilities.

The UT220HQL is backed by a two-year warranty and costs 299 Euro.

Acer America today announced the immediate availability of the new Aspire R7-572, the second generation of Acer's revolutionary notebook that redefined the touch and type computing experience through its unique Ezel-Hinge. Lenovo, creator of multimode computing, today announced at the 2013 IFA consumer electronics show in Berlin, a broad expansion to its portfolio of multimode devices.

The new lineup starts with two new Yoga convertibles: the Yoga 2 Pro, successor to the original 360° flip and fold 13.3-inch Yoga, and the new ThinkPad Yoga, built to take business users to new heights with its multimode design and business-heavy features. Additionally, Lenovo is bringing multimode computing to mainstream laptops and desktops with the new dual mode Lenovo Flex 14 and 15-inch laptops and Flex 20 all-in-one (AIO) desktop. Japanese display maker Iiyama rolled out the Pro Lite T2735MSC 27-inch touchscreen monitor. It combines an AMVA (multi-domain vertical alignment) panel made by AU Optronics, with a 10-point multi-touch layer. As a display, the T2735MSC features full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution, 2 ms response time, 178°/178° viewing angles, 260 cd/m² maximum brightness, 3000:1 static contrast ratio with dynamic mega-contrast, and display inputs that include DVI, D-Sub, MHL (mobile high-definition link), and HDMI. Its touchscreen component plugs in over USB 2.0. Its stand is designed to be ergonomic, and fit for frequent sliding down to use as touchscreen. Measuring 739 x 127 x 510 mm (WxDxH), it weighs 10.5 kg. Available in Japan soon, the Pro Lite T2735MSC is expected to be priced at 89,800 JPY (US $920).

MultiTouch Ltd has announced the launch of 42" and 55" MultiTaction Cell multitouch displays, fully integrated with Windows 8. The new MultiTaction Cell 42" (MT420W8) and 55" (MT550W8) with Embedded Windows 8 on Intel Core i7 are the first large-format displays available with a built-in touch user interface -and the first to support simultaneous use of unlimited touch with hands, the new Windows 8 native pen tracking and real life object interaction.

The addition of Windows 8 makes MultiTaction an even better proposition for clients seeking large integrated Windows 8 devices particularly suitable for use in public spaces. The new MultiTaction Cell displays allow clients to use applications from the Windows 8 store, with both 42" and 55" models running applications compatible across smartphones, tablets, laptops and desktop PCs.

Ahead of its December launch, Lenovo gave us a sneak peak of the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Touch Ultrabook on its website. The 14-incher retains the essential design of its August 2012 launched predecessor, with the addition of Windows 8 Pro, a multi-touch screen, and a screen-resolution marked "HD+," which most probably is 1600 x 900 pixels. No other details were revealed. We don't expect the new X1 Carbon to deviate from its formidable system specs, which includes Core i5 "Ivy Bridge" with vPro processor, GeForce graphics, and SSD/HDD storage options.

Over the past month, AeroCool unveiled six new products featured in its mainline and Strike-X brands, including the Strike-X XPredator Devil Red and White Editions, Strike-X Air, and Mechatron Black Edition cases; Silent Master 200 mm fans, and Strike-X X-1000 fan-controller. AeroCool made an addition to the lineup, the Touch-2000 fan controller, and made all products available through retail channels in the US.

The Touch-2000 is a 2-bay fan-controller. It is characterized by a brushed aluminum bezel, and a large LED display, with feather-touch buttons. The Touch-2000 supports a maximum of five channels with 25W maximum output per channel. In addition to five fan speed channels, the controller supports temperature monitoring from five thermal probes that can be stuck to key components such as heatsinks, hard drives, etc., for real-time monitoring. The color scheme of the LED display can be changed among 7 options. Overheating alarms can be set. The Touch-2000 also doubles up as a 2-port USB 3.0 (standard header) and audio (HDA header) front-panel, to help with cases that lack the ports.
