ADATA Intros NBA-branded Flash Drives

ADATA Technology, a leading manufacturer of high-performance DRAM modules and NAND Flash storage application products, today announced the launch of NBA themed USB flash drives. All thirty teams will be represented in the new product lineup, which is officially licensed by the National Basketball Association and available in the United States and Canada.

Corsair Announces Vengeance K70 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard

Corsair, a worldwide designer of high-performance PC gaming peripherals, today announced the Vengeance K70 fully mechanical gaming keyboard. The new Vengeance K70 gaming keyboard is built on a rugged, brushed, aluminum chassis and features highly responsive Cherry MX Red mechanical switches under every key. The high performance switches combined with the keyboard's 100% anti-ghosted matrix, 20-key rollover and 1000Hz reporting rate provide fast, accurate input for gaming.

The Vengeance K70 gaming keyboards are available in two color schemes: silver aluminum with blue backlighting, and anodized black with deep red backlighting. Overall backlighting can be adjusted to four levels of intensity and each key is individually backlit, enabling the lighting for each key to be independently enabled or disabled. The key-by-key lighting customization allows users to highlight just the keys they need to emphasize and then save the setting directly to the K70's onboard memory. In addition, the Vengeance K70 comes with alternate colored, contoured keycaps for the WASD and 1-6 keycaps to allow additional customization.

ASUS Rolls Out ROG Eagle Eye GX1000 Gaming Mouse

ASUS rolled out its first Republic of Gamers (ROG) branded input device, the ROG Eagle Eye GX1000 gaming mouse. Clad in brushed aluminum and ABS plastic, with a braided weave cable, the Eagle Eye GX1000 features a pseudo-ambidextrous design (side buttons only on its left side), with a total of six action buttons, a scroll wheel, and on-the-fly sensitivity control buttons.

The ROG Eagle Eye GX1000 features a weight compartment, with adjustable weighs in units of 5 g. Its dry weight (without any weights) is 150 g. Under its hood is an 8,200 DPI laser sensor, which can be lowered all the way down to 50 DPI. Overall, the mouse measures 128.5 x 65.5 x 43.5 mm. ASUS dropped in some groovy LED lighting for the scroll wheel, the sensitivity adjustment felt-touch surface (can coarsely display DPI setting), and its rear side. An ROG-branded mousepad is part of the package. Expect this one to be priced upwards of $100.

Titan Rolls Out TTC-G27T Notebook Cooler

Titan announced the TTC-G27T universal notebook cooler. Designed for notebooks with screen-sizes as high as 15.6-inch, the cooler is little more than a 140 mm fan stapped onto an ergonomic cooler base. The fan plugs into your notebook via USB, spins at speeds of 800 RPM ±15%, pushing up to 64.86 CFM of air, with a noise output of around 26.4 dBA. The sleeve bearing fan offers an MTBF of 25,000 hours. The company did not give out pricing information, but we expect it to be around US $25.

Pioneer Rolls Out BDR-XU02JM Portable Blu-ray XL Drive

Pioneer rolled out a sleek new portable Blu-ray XL drive compatible with Macs, the BDR-XU02JM. Measuring 133 x 133 x 12 mm (WxDxH, without stand), and measuring 245 g, the drive stays slim thanks to its slot-in disc loading mechanism, which along with the silvery metal body, complements the new breed of ODD-less MacBooks.

The BDR-XU02JM from Pioneer can write single- and double-layer BD-R discs at speeds of up to 6X; triple- and quadruple-layer ones at 4X; BD-R (LtH) at 6X, single-, double-, and triple-layer BD-RE discs at 2X, DVDs up to 8X, and CDs up to 24X. The drive uses a single USB 2.0 cable for both host-connectivity and power. It features a 4 MB buffer. It is slated for later this month, beginning with the Japanese market.

Enermax Previews Silent PSU and Fulmo ST Case, and More Ahead of CeBIT

Enermax plans to enter CeBIT with a three main attractions to its booth. First, a new lineup of fanless/silent PSUs; second, additions to its Fulmo line of ATX mid~full-tower cases; and third, the DreamBass line of notebook coolers that replace your notebook's built-in tweeters speakers with ones that can begin to do justice to bass. To begin with, Enermax is looking to launch a line of fanless PSUs in the mid-capacity range (500W-700W), which toss out fans for chunkier heatsinks, feature modular cabling, and are 80 Plus Platinum-compliant.

Moving on, Enermax will show off a handful of its newest gaming PC cases, including the Fulmo ST ATX mid-tower, pictured below. The Fulmo ST, according to the company, is spacious enough for triple graphics-card gaming PC builds, with room for 240 mm radiators, and a liquid-cooling loop that doesn't stick out. It will pack ten 3.5-inch/2.5-inch drive bays, and various nifty locking/mounting mechanisms that help PC enthusiasts. Following its CeBIT unveil, the Fulmo ST will make it to stores in April.

Sharkoon Announces New VS3 Case Series

Sharkoon introduces a new series of Midi-ATX cases. The models of the VS3 series are aimed at price-conscious budget customers who do not accept compromises in quality and features. The Standard models of the VS3 ATX case series offers three drive bays for optical drives and an externally accessible 3.5" drive bay. This can, as an example, be used for a card reader, fan controller or USB hub.

Behind the LED fan illuminating the mesh front sits the option for either two 3.5" hard drives and a 2.5" hard drive/SSD or alternatively a 3.5" hard drive and two 2.5" hard drives/SSDs. Micron Introduces Industry's Smallest 128-Gigabit NAND Flash Device

Micron Technology, Inc. today introduced the industry's smallest 128-gigabit (Gb) NAND flash memory device utilizing its award-winning 20-nanometer (nm) process technology. The new 128Gb device stores three bits of information per cell, called triple-level-cell (TLC), creating a highly compact storage solution.

Measuring 146 mm², the new 128Gb TLC device is more than 25 percent smaller than the same capacity of Micron's 20 nm multi-level-cell (MLC) NAND device. The 128 Gb TLC device is targeted at the cost-competitive removable storage market (flash cards and USB drives), which is projected to consume 35 percent of total NAND gigabytes in calendar 2013.1 Micron is now sampling the 128Gb TLC NAND device with select customers; it will be in production in calendar Q2.

Etron Launches a New USB3.0 Dual-Channel Flash Drive Controller Chip, EV2669

Etron Technology, Inc. (Taiwan GTSM: 5351) introduces a new flash drive controller, EV2669, of Etron's USB3.0 Flash Drive Accelerator (FDA) series, in addition to its EV1669 product recently announced at the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Toshiba Launches Industry's First microUSB Adaptor Module Compliant with TransferJet

Toshiba Corporation announced it will launch the industry's first microUSB adaptor module compliant with the TransferJet close proximity wireless transfer technology standard. Mass production of this microUSB adaptor module, TJM35420MU, is scheduled to begin in March 2013 for sales to smartphone and tablet manufacturers and to PC peripheral equipment manufacturers.

The TJM35420MU is the industry's first TransferJet microUSB adaptor module integrating a TransferJet transceiver IC, a coupler, an RF filter, peripheral passive parts, and a USB connection circuit.
