Pure Rock carries the model number GZ-PMPRxxxU-BR/ WR (where xxx is capacity in GB, and BR/WR refer to black/white), and features a durable anti-vibration mechanism. It also sports a compact (128 x 82 x 15 mm, weighing 172 g), and subjectively elegant design. Internally, it uses 2.5" SATA hard drives, but connects to the system over USB 2.0. It also draws power from the same USB connection. It is available in capacities of 320 GB, 500 GB, 640 GB, and 750 GB. The internal drives have spindle-speeds of 5400 rpm, with 8 MB caches. A carry-pouch is bundled, the drive is covered by a 3-year warranty. Gigabyte did not give out pricing.

I-O Data is adding a new 750 GB variant to its HDPC-U family of portable hard drives. Measuring 75 (W) x 112 (D) x 14 (H) mm and weighing 160 g, these drives are available in four color options: "piano black", "orient blue", "bitter brown", and "pearl white", with a scratch-resistant surface finish. The drives use USB 2.0 interface for power and connectivity, and embed a 2.5" hard drive.

Buffalo Technology released a trio of USB 2.0 flash drives that are an evolution of the RUF2-JVS series released last year. The series starts with RUF2-HSCLT, which gives you 256-bit AES data encryption. Next up, is the RUF2-HSCLTV, which gives you 256-bit AES data encryption, plus Trend Micro antivirus protection (update subscription) for one year. Lastly, there's the RUF2-HSCLTV3, which gives you encryption, plus Trend Micro with three years subscription. All three drives are available in capacities of 2, 4, 8, 16, and 32 gigabytes, and depending on the model, the price ranges between US $76.6 and $360.

I-O Data introduced two new Blu-ray writers, the BRD-3DS12, and the BRD-3DU8. The is an internal SATA drive, while the BRD-3DU8 is an external USB 2.0 one, inclosed in a familiar-looking casing that can be found on some I-O Data external hard drives. The BRD-3DS12 writes single and double-layer BD-R at 12X, single and double layer BD-RE at 2X. The BRD-3DU8 external drive writes single and double layer BD-R at 8X, and BD-RE at 2X. AMD's upcoming "Bulldozer" architecture based processors that use a new socket type, the AM3+, are slated for Q2, 2011. To complement its launch, AMD will be launching the 9-series chipset series, consisting of four kinds of desktop chipset. The lineup starts with the AMD 990FX, the high-end 4-way CrossFireX-ready chipset, geared for high-end motherboards. Next up, is the 990X. This discrete graphics chipset is also ready for CrossFireX, but has just 16 PCI-Express 2.0 lanes to spare for graphics, platforms based on this will feature two PCI-Express x16 slots which reconfigure to electrical x8 slots when both are populated.

The third is an entry-level discrete graphics chipset that doesn't support CrossFire, but can spare one PCI-Express 2.0 x16 slot for discrete graphics, it's the AMD 970. Lastly, there's the 980G integrated graphics chipset, which features a DirectX 10.1 compliant IGP, which supports UVD 2.0 video acceleration. For some reason, this chipset doesn't support older AM3 processors, but only AM3+. The other chipsets in the series however, do support existing socket AM3 Athlon II and Phenom II series processors. All four northbridge chipsets support HyperTransport 3.0 processor interconnect, supporting data rates of up to 5.2 GT/s.
