The 1MORE True Wireless ANC headphones are currently one of the best True Wireless Stereo (TWS) headphones on the market. 1MORE's ambitions were insanely high, and for the most part, they managed to pull it off. They now offer a pair of TWS headphones that sound outstanding, are super comfortable to wear, fit the ears securely, offer a ton of extra features (ANC, IR sensors for auto-pause, Pass-through mode, aptX Bluetooth audio codec support, and Qualcomm TrueWireless Stereo Plus support) and end up costing less than other top-tier TWS headphones, such as the Sony WF-1000XM3.
There's very little not to like here, but some drawbacks do exist. The most pronounced is the sound quality degradation that takes place when ANC is turned on, especially if you set it to the stronger of two available modes. It bloats and muddies up the bass and adds quite a bit of artificiality to the mid-range. If you're buying your new headphones for the ANC function, you're much better off going with the Sony WF-1000XM3, where the sound quality is much more carefully preserved when ANC is being used. 1MORE intends to readjust the sound of their headphones when ANC is turned on with an upcoming firmware release, but until that happens, it is what it is. Some users may also find the earpieces too bulky for their liking. I had absolutely no issues with this aspect of the 1MORE True Wireless ANC, but the fact remains that there are much more compact and discrete TWS headphones on the market. Finally, the mobile app is rudimentary and can't be used for anything other than the OTA firmware update and ANC/Pass-through toggling. For starters, a system-wide EQ would be a fine addition to the mix.
Everything else about the 1MORE True Wireless ANC is absolutely amazing. Sound quality with ANC off is quite possibly the best from among all TWS headphones out there. They're warm, full of energy, detailed, musical, deep, and superbly enjoyable to listen to. Just about any music genre sounds great, as do podcasts, YouTube clips, streaming videos and anything else you might throw at them. Their microphones served me without a hitch for phone calls and voice commands, and I loved using their controls, primarily because 1MORE cleverly combined touch controls with physical buttons. Touch controls are actually only used to switch between operating modes (ANC/Pass-through/everything off)—stuff like track skipping and volume control is quickly accessed through the physical buttons.
Battery life won't blow you away as it's similar to what most other competitors offer, but this is yet another area where 1MORE has two aces up the sleeve: fast charging support (15 minutes of wired charging is enough for 2 hours of playback) and wireless charging support for the carrying case.
There we have it. Even though this is only their second product on the TWS market, 1MORE isn't merely competing with the big boys, but has rather tasked the big boys to try to catch up. That's how it's done!
