ADATA Classic Series CH11 1 TB USB 3.0 Review

A Closer Look

The CH11 is part of the "Classic Series" which aims to offer the user all the basic needs at an affordable price point. This means that you won't get any functionality like a backup button or more than the USB 3.0 connectivity. There is a small company logo printed on the top of the enclosure, while stickers holding the serial number and safety logos are located on the underside.

You may stand up the drive if you wish to do so. In fact ADATA has several marketing images in which the drive is shown like this. Doing so however will also mean that you won't be able to reach the USB 3.0 plug, so there is no way to use it like this. A warranty seal has been placed across both parts of the enclosure. Opening the drive will void your warranty. Besides that aspect, I did not find a way to crack this puppy open anyways.

As mentioned before, you will only find a single plug on the CH11. This is the standard USB 3.0 connector on the side of the case.

Once plugged in, the small LED on the same side lights up blue. I personally like the understated placement of the activity light.
