Akasa AllInOne Control Panel Review

Value & Conclusion »

Panel in Action

I was rather sceptical about the red color inside a black case, but it looks really good. The high quality, glossy paint is certainly a nice sight. The door flips down perfectly fine and the unit itself does not extend too far out of the case. This means you should be fine, even if your case has a door to cover the drive bays.

The card reader and front connections are useful, but also nothing out of the ordinary. Let us focus on the LCD panel and the functions. The display is usually backlit by a blue light, but if your fan speed drops below a certain level, it changes to alternating between no light and a red backlight. In case that does not draw your attention, the very audible, but not annoying beep which accompanies the blinking display, should.

You can set the AllInOne to control the fan speed according to the temperature of the diodes or set the speed yourself. The display can only show you the speed and temperature of one fan and one temperature diode at a time, but will still warn you there is something wrong with the other diode and fan. The overall usability of the AllInOne fan speed control is great and should make a very good addition for any fan you would rather control yourself instead of running them full speed or leaving it up to the mainboard.
