Graphics Product Group (Part 2)
GPU makers are beginning to tout the features their products have beyond mere 3D graphics processing lately. NVIDIA has its own "Graphics Plus" initiative, while even S3 jumped into providing GPU-accelerated video transcoding software. AMD announced that it will be giving away transcoding software that takes advantage of its GPUs, for free. This against NVIDIA that offers Badaboom software on a trial basis. AMD also listed its advancements in terms of embracing newer manufacturing and memory technologies before NVIDIA. Rick Bergman went a step ahead and asserted that the manufacturing materials and techniques AMD recommends and prescribes to its foundry and AIB partners, make them superior, quality-wise, with undertones of picking on the NVIDIA's recent GPU failure fiasco.
