At first, the anidees AI6v2 does not look any different than the original, but there are loads of functional changes that make it well worth the v2 monicker. On one hand, you now have a balanced mix of two USB 2.0 and 3.0 plugs, each, leaving enough space for an SD card reader and an updated fan controller. But it does not end there as you will also get an SSD tray behind the motherboard tray, some nice Velcro strips for cleaner cable management, and an improved mounting system for the hard-drive cages. On the other hand, anidees has removed the ninth expansion slot in the back, for example, which is not a big deal to most.
You will also find the same excellent build quality, which makes the AI6v2 just as heavy as its predecessor. There are also the door you can set to swing open in either direction, easy-to-remove drive bay covers, and high quality fans.
Overall, the anidees AI6v2 is a great update to the original, but clocking in at 140-150 euro, a better name would have been AI6 Plus, Premium, or Ultra, as some will struggle to understand the price difference otherwise.
