The backrest is secured to the metal brackets of the seat's base with bolts on each side. Two black plastic hinge covers are provided to hide these bolts, which is an excellent detail.


An embroidered logo in light blue threading is placed on the headrest, while the company name is embroidered on the rear in the same light blue thread.

Build Quality

A powder-coated carbon steel frame is under the high-density PU foam; it can handle the stated maximum weight-limit. Under the base of the seat, elastic bands and steel bars add more support. The foam filling over the frame has a spongy but firm feel. The chair's upholstery has anti-stain properties and is fire-resistant, but only from minor cigar incidents.


I couldn't detect any significant flaws with the upholstery or stitching patterns.


Yet there seems to be a problem with the fabric at the rear of the chair. It does not affect functionality adversely, but looks ugly.

Armrests

Although AQIRYS mentions 4-directional adjustability on the web page, the armrests are 3D. They are made of soft PU and have a peculiar, futuristic shape. A dent at the front is to keep the elbows in place, and the armrests are wider at the front, with approximate dimensions of 12.5 cm (3.93 in.) compared to the rear with around 8.5 cm (3.34 in.). Both armrests have one button for their height adjustments and move in three, not four, directions.

Neck and Lumbar-Support Pillows

Since this gaming chair does not have an integrated lumbar-support mechanism, two removable cushions covered in the same fabric as the chair are included.


Both pillows are embroidered with the company name in light blue thread. The smaller support cushion has straps that secure around the headrest.


The larger one is thrown on the chair.

Gas Lift, Five-Star Base, and Casters

The class-4 gas lift under the base of the seat is for height adjustments and supports the stated weight-limit.


The five-star base is a matte black aluminium alloy, with each arm adorned with cutouts and footrests. It is 70 cm (27.55 in.) in diameter. AQIRYS was kind enough to include two different sets of casters in the package; a set of 3-inch Nylon casters and an extra set of Ultra-Glide Silent PU 3-inch casters.
