Packaging and Accessories

The celestial theme makes an appearance on the product packaging too, with a predominantly black background and some stars strewn around. The brand logo and product name are on the front, as is a large render of the keyboard lit up brightly. Salient marketing features are also listed. This is a good design overall if it were to ever catch your eye in a retail store. The same continues on the back with more renders, specifications, marketing features, and a contents list. A QR code on the side takes you to the product page, and two seals on the sides keep this outer sleeve intact.

The inner box is simpler in design and continues the black cardboard aesthetic with a lot of gaming lingo over a subtle, but huge AQIRYS logo. A double flap on the side keeps the contents in place during transit, and opening the box, we see the keyboard between two thick foam pads for protection. The various accessories are underneath or to the sides, including a welcome note, some stickers, and a multi-language quick start guide that goes over the various pre-programmed functions. An online copy can be found on the previously linked product page, and it's worth going through briefly to make the most of the keyboard.

AQIRYS also includes a two-in-one metal wire keycap puller and switch remover, which is nice and hints at the adoption of hot-swappable switch sockets aboard the Aludra TKL. The cleaning brush was unexpected, though. This is the first time I have seen one included with a keyboard! Not surprising was the detachable white USB Type-C to Type-A cable; it adds to the portability of the keyboard, and means further customization via a custom cable is an option. The unboxing experience is completed by a thick replacement ABS space bar keycap with a bow n' arrow on it, again in white.

AQIRYS also sent along an XL mouse pad, which really is a desk mat for all intents and purposes. There are multiple different designs and sizes sold under the AQIRYS brand, and this particular one happens to be the AQIRYS WEBB named after the NASA telescope, which suits the space theme of AQIRYS products. It measures 900 x 400 x 3 mm and ships in a long rectangular cuboid box with the desk mat in a cylinder. This is a monochrome design with black borders, a non-slip rubber base and white microfiber textile surface stitched well onto the rubber. The honeycomb design is meant to replicate the equivalent mirrors on the James Webb telescope, although the "All About Gaming" tagline does somewhat take away from that intention. This XL AQIRYS WEBB mouse pad costs 74.90 RON, which is ~€15 incl. VAT or ~$14 before VAT, so it's priced well if you can get one without paying more.
