Arctic Cooling E352 Review 2

Arctic Cooling E352 Review

Value & Conclusion »

Performance

The E352s were left burning in for well over 100 hours. Compared to the E361s reviewed not long ago the E352s sound very very similar, both of these earphones have an excessively warm signature and boatloads of bass. As expected the treble of the E352s is pretty anonymous which can be considered both a pro and a con. The E352s we received for review was the version without microphone / podded control.

These in-ears have a lot of bass and mid bass. The worrying part is that the bass bleeds in to the mids and makes the earphones sound muddy and a bit dull, because it subtracts details. Bassheads will probably like the bass because of its quantity, more detail oriented people will be left wanting a tighter, punchier low end. Let there be no doubt about it the E352s provide a very fun very warm sound signature.

Compared to the E361s the E352s are worse in one specific area, and that is ergonomics. Because of the wooden housing it seems that Arctic Cooling has opted for a simpler design without an angled nozzle. This means that insertion is slightly trickier, and that they are slightly less comfortable to wear for an extended period of time. The design is slightly more attractive than the E361s solely based on the aesthetic qualities, but its failure when it comes to ergonomics makes it a tie for me. Wood is almost always nice of a set of headphones, but because of the design limitations it is perhaps a bad trade off when it comes to application on in-ears.

Overall the E352s seem quite durable, the housing is well made and the cable and jack assembly seem firm. It does however, suffer a bit from the same issue noted on the E361s with regards to the cable entry, albeit not so pronounced as with the E361s it is still something you should watch out for or perhaps fix with some silicone adhesive.
