The following table goes over the material acronyms you will encounter as you search for a gaming or office chair. Not only does this table go over what each acronym stands for, but the material traits of each entry are also detailed.

Natural Leather is divided into different categories:

Full-Grain, Top-Grain, Bonded Leather, and Split Leather

  • Pricey
Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Leather

  • Fade and stain resistant
  • Vegan-ecological

Assembly

Assembling a chair is a straightforward process for some people, though it can be a major headache for others. I personally belong to the second category because of my "compact" footprint. I am only 1.63 cm (64,17") tall and weigh less than 55 kg (121.25 lb), which makes lifting the seat's base along with the backrest in order to install it onto the gas lift quite hard. Yet assembly would still be much easier with someone's help even if you don't have a problem lifting such weights. Arozzi provides a set of cotton gloves to prevent injuries, but we found them rather useless since the bolts were constantly slipping out of our hands while wearing those gloves.

The first step is to turn the five-star base upside down to install the caster wheels. A small trick we came up with while trying to insert the caster wheels was to insert them at a slightly diagonal angle at first, which reduces the amount it strength it takes. Once you have installed every caster wheel, flip the five-star base the right way up and insert the gas lift and, over it, the dust cover shroud.

Now, take the seat's base and flip it upside down. Remove the four bolts on the metal bars and adjust the tilt mechanism on top with the knob pointing towards the front of the seat. Secure the tilt mechanism by inserting the four bolts into their respective spots. With the help of another person, align the opening underneath the seat's base on top of the gas lift.

On each side of the backrest are two bolts that need to be removed. The openings on the backrest need to be aligned with those on the metal brackets of the seat's base, after which the four bolts have to be put into these opening to secure the backrest. The last step is to insert the two plastic bits that will cover the bolts on each side of the backrest by pushing them up in. Before you push them in, though, make sure to properly align them with the openings on the backrest or you might damage them. This step is also a bit tricky since you have to insert the plastic bolt into the opening horizontally to then turn it into a vertical position.

Initial Impression

The Verona V2, which we reviewed some months ago, is one of Arozzi's chair models with a medium cost of entry. As such, we had an idea of what to expect from a higher-priced Arozzi chair. The first component we noticed once we unpacked the Vernazza was the backrest. As per usual, we expected it to weigh half as much as the seat's base. However, the backrest was really light and slim, with slightly contoured edges, which creates the impression that the Vernazza is another chair with a sports bucket seat design. The backrest seems quite open and extensive and looks as though it will not confine its user.

The seat's base comes next, and as per usual, we thought that an extra pair of hands would be necessary for us to take it out of the package since it usually weighs quite a bit. However, this seat's base was really light, which made lifting it up an easy task. Like the backrest, the seat's base has slightly raised edges to follow a sport car's aesthetics. In spite of that, though, there appears to be a large and comfortable sitting area.

The PU upholstery has a glossy finish and is soft, and there is a class 4 gas lift. Arozzi claims that the Vernazza can accommodate a bodyweight of up to 145 kg (320 lb).
