Assembly

Two people are suggested for assembly, and it will take those two people approximately 15-20 minutes until this chair is fully assembled. The only tool it takes is the Allen key Arozzi provides in the bundle. The gloves are highly appreciated, and we did use them. You are better off with those gloves since they do offer a minor form of protection, but you will have the caster wheels slip around a bit, and we found it difficult to hold onto bolts well. However, we kept our gloves on throughout the whole assembly procedure.

Start by inserting the caster wheels into the five-star base. You have to turn the five-star base upside down and press the wheels in firmly. Flip the five-star base up the right way after you have to install the gas lift. Make sure to remove the black plastic cap on top of the gas lift. If you don't, the seat's base won't fit. There was no mention of this in the instructions manual, though, which had us figure it out as we were trying to install the base.

The instructions manual mentions that the next step is to align the backrest to the seat's base, but we weren't too keen on the heavy lifting it would lead to toward the end of it all and adjusted the butterfly tilt mechanism first, with the seat's base turned upside down. As such, we went ahead and unscrewed the four bolts on the two metal brackets. There is an arrow on one of the two sides of the tilt mechanism that has to point towards the front of the seat. We then turned the seat to make sure it faced the right way again and installed it on top of the gas lift.

The backrest is the next piece. Four hands are necessary for this step also. Unscrew the four pre-installed bolts on each side of the backrest. A person needs to hold the backrest upright and properly aligned to the metal brackets while the other person screws the four screws back into place. The last step is to insert the seat-mount covers by pressing them into the sides of the backrest. These plastic covers either have an "R" for the right side or an "L" for the left side on the inside. The right cover fit nicely, but the left did not. It kept popping off continuously, which had us use a hot silicone gun to fix the problem!

Initial Impression

Once the chair is finished, it looks nice and is comfortable enough to welcome any user. The black and white color combination of the upholstery can be described as vintage and fits into just about any gaming environment well. The Verona V2 has a smooth PU upholstery and comes with two pillows; one for the neck and another for the lumbar region. The plastic components used on this chair appear to be well made. The first thing that got our attention was the armrests' design, which incorporates a gap at the center. The edges of the seat's base are raised by quite a bit, and we shall have to see whether a large user will feel confined by these or not.

Contrary to the seat's base, the backrest seems to be spacious enough to accommodate almost any body type. This chair is not as heavy as the other chairs we have taken a look at thus, which raises the question of whether this chair will last for as long; however, a heavy chair isn't necessarily more reliable than a lighter one. We will find out whether this chair is as durable as the others by using it extensively over a long period of time.
