The ASRock X299 OC Formula did well in power-consumption testing at load, both at stock and overclocked, although reasonable results in regards to overclocked power consumption numbers are with a manual setting of 1.8V for the CPU input voltage because the automatic 2.1V was too high. The PCH cooler seems a bit underwhelming in performance, while the VRM heatsink does reasonably well with very minimal airflow. So far, these ASRock X299 boards I have tested seem to have great digital VRM designs that really pay off when it comes time to push the CPU clocks up, and the ASRock X299 OC Formula is no exception. It's frankly a bit difficult for me to understand how this board manages to bring stability at power levels other boards would toss their cookies at. This is one hugely capable VRM design, and it really does show in those power consumption figures!
